They resemble ordinary [[barrel]]s with an image of a [[bomb]] blinking over them. Unlike normal barrels, these are not grabbed; they are collected as standard items. They are used to destroy [[rock (map)|rock]]s on the world map near the levels they appear in, which lead further into the game. As such, the levels that contain explosive barrels are often themselves dead ends on the map. Explosive barrels appear in [[Deck Trek]], [[Snake Charmer's Challenge]], and [[Chomp's Coliseum]].
