Hand, Line and Sinker is a 1-vs-3 minigame found in Mario Party 3. The name is a pun on the phrase "hook, line, and sinker."

Gameplay[edit]

Three players dressed like fish have to avoid being caught by the other player, who attempts to reel in the other three with a fishing rod glove referred to as the Magic Hand. If at least one of the team players avoids being caught for 60 seconds, they all win. If the solo player catches all the players in the water, the solo player wins.

Trivia[edit]

Hand, Line and Sinker in Super Mario-kun
  • The minigame makes a brief appearance in issue 27 in Super Mario-kun, where the characters are depicted as wearing fish costumes. Mario is seen catching Peach. When he catches Luigi, he also reels Yoshi, who is biting Luigi.
  • By means of a glitch, it is possible for the three team players to win even if none of them survived. For the glitch to occur, the solo player needs to get the last team player out of the pool within the last second. If that happens, the solo player does their losing animation, then goes back to their idle animation, and the camera zooms into the pool with no fish being in it.
