Plucking it and collecting the mushroom will cause either [[Toad (species)|Toad]] to glow, similar to a [[Super Star]]. However, the effect lasts until the end of the level, making it easier for them to deal with tough enemies, leaving any puzzles within the stage as the only remaining challenge(s). In the [[Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Nintendo Switch / Nintendo 3DS)|Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch versions]] of the game, tapping a Toad [[amiibo]] on the level select screen is an additional way to get an Invincibility Mushroom. Using this method will automatically give the player the effects of the Invincibility Mushroom as soon as they enter a level; losing enough lives to get the Assist Pluck Patch to appear is not required.
