Klumps are depicted with brown skin, a yellow belly, and wear a green military helmet with three chevrons (alongside having these chevrons on their shoulders as seen in some artwork). They also wear a green belt with five pockets and a pair of black boots.

A Klump's helmet enables it to block [[Diddy Kong]]'s [[jump]]ing attack, but the attack can still push it back slightly. Despite this defense, however, most attack methods can defeat a Klump, which includes using [[barrel]]s, [[Rambi]], a [[Roll Attack|roll]] or [[Cartwheel Attack|cartwheel]], a jump attack by [[Donkey Kong]], and the [[Hand Slap]].

He manages to cartwheel into Klump but is then restrained by him and sealed inside a barrel, which Klump promptly kicks across the jungle. Klump and the Kremlings then depart with the [[banana]]s.

Klump reappears in the final chapter, where Donkey Kong, Diddy, and [[Cranky Kong]] board the [[Gangplank Galleon]] and battle numerous Kremlings. Diddy cartwheels into Klump after he taunts him, and the Klump is sent overboard.

A singular Klump (who is alternatively known as '''General Klump''') is King K. Rool's second-in-command and general in the [[Donkey Kong Country (television series)|''Donkey Kong Country'' television series]], where he is one of the show's main characters. He was voiced by [[Adrian Truss]]<ref name=interview>{{cite|url=https://youtu.be/C7Ao9laCJcg?si=kJD5l2R7S0DHEpaP|title=An Interview with ADRIAN TRUSS {{!}} Voice Artist & Improv Actor {{!}} THE GIO SHOW S0 E01|author=GioTV1|publisher=YouTube|date=February 4, 2019|accessdate=February 23, 2025}}</ref> and speaks in a heavy southern United States accent. Despite most Klumps having brown skin, his is lime green.

Despite being constantly berated and disrespected by K. Rool (even being fired a few times by him), Klump remains ever faithful to him, even stating in the episode "[[Klump's Lumps]]" (which is centered around Klump being fired) that serving K. Rool is his life. Perhaps due to his loyalty and/or the fact that K. Rool's other minions, especially Krusha, are just too dimwitted to be organized, Klump is often put in charge of K. Rool's various plots and schemes.

Despite his tough military man-like exterior, Klump has a kind personality in reality; he actually befriends [[Dixie Kong]] and helps her find her pet lobster [[List of implied characters#Thermidor|Thermidor]] in the aforementioned episode, "Klump's Lumps."

According to Klump in the episode "[[Speak No Evil, Dude]]," he is immune to illness due to the fact that he eats at least 100 garlic cloves a day. In the same episode, he is dimwitted enough to misinterpret Rool's laryngitis and suffocation as an order to blow up the entire island, or even to fall for Diddy's ploy of being a talking bush after accidentally sneezing near Klump and Krusha while hiding from them. Even when Cranky Kong pointed out the idiocy of such an order—especially since Klump would also be killed in the blast—Klump ignored the Kong and nearly completed the operation.

Much of Klump's origin was revealed in the Christmas-themed episode "[[The Kongo Bongo Festival of Lights]]." This episode reveals that as a young boy, Klump ended up causing a huge fire which devastated the swamp where he and his family lived. Klump's older brother, revealed to be the infamous [[Pirates (group)|pirate]] and K. Rool's rival, [[Kaptain Skurvy]], decided to take the blame for Klump in a show of true brotherly love. This resulted in Skurvy's banishment from the home swamp. Klump only recalled vague memories of these events until Skurvy reveals everything to him. The end of the episode reveals that Klump had planned on joining Skurvy's crew, but was presumably dissuaded by King K. Rool based on later episodes.

Klumps are enemies in ''[[Donkey Kong 64]]''. They are now pink and wear a yellow-orange vest over their belly, have purple irises, their chevrons in their shoulders are gone, they now have six pockets on their belt, with three each on the sides of their waist, and they also appear to be wearing shoes instead of boots. In cutscenes, a Klump is first seen in the [[DK Rap]], where during Chunky's verse, Chunky scares it away, and the DK Rap is also abruptly ended by the Klump throwing an orange at the screen. In the game's intro cutscene, K. Rool orders a Klump, a [[Kritter]] and a [[Kasplat]] to imprison Donkey Kong's friends and steal the [[banana hoard]]. As Klump rushes into K. Rool's throne room, he accidentally knocks the Kritter and Kasplat out of the way. The Klump explains he and the other [[Kremling]]s have "already taken care of business" and shows that [[Chunky Kong|Chunky]], [[Lanky Kong|Lanky]], [[Tiny Kong|Tiny]], and [[Diddy Kong]] have been imprisoned. K. Rool overrules Klump by hoping that he is right about taking care of business.

In gameplay, Klumps are encountered in every level except for [[Frantic Factory]], [[Creepy Castle]], and the [[DK Isles]] hub. In Fungi Forest, Klumps only appear during the day time and are replaced by [[Skeleton Kremling]]s at night. Klumps attack the active [[Kong]] by throwing unripe, green [[orange]]s at them, which can also damage other enemies. Klumps can also bounce the Kong backward with their belly. Klumps are among the stronger enemies, as they are resistant to basic attacks; the Kongs can attack a Klump directly without getting hurt, but the direct attack will only stun the Klump for a while. Klumps can only truly be defeated by the [[Super Slam|shockwave attack]], throwing an orange, using a musical instrument, or if Chunky touches them while in his [[Hunky Chunky]] state. When defeated, Klump spins around, does a military salute and then falls down. Klumps release three oranges upon defeat. From a distance, Klumps can be seen eating an orange, which is comically followed by an explosion in their stomach, causing them to burp.
