Publications[edit]

  • SNES instruction booklet (page 28): The supreme commander of the Kremlings and mastermind of the banana heist.
  • Player's Guide (page 119): The villainous scoundrel that has been the mastermind behind this whole banana fiasco is not even on the island! He's out in the water on his ship, acting like a pirate. King K. Rool is the biggest beast that any ape has ever seen. The lumbering lard bucket just sits out there on his ship, barking orders at his minions. The main deck of his ship is where the final battle will take place. You have to be more than ready. K. Rool is much more agile than he looks and he's ready to rumble. You've already taken back more bananas than he had ever thought you world.
  • Instruction booklet bio (GBC version) (page 17) / (GBA version) (page 22): This Kremling Kommander was the mastermind behind the great banana heist.

  • Player's Guide (page 17): And in this corner, weighing in at a trumped-up, swell-headed, big-bottomed 286 pounds, the King of Chaos, the Master of Disaster himself... Kaptain K. Rool! This rancorous reptile has fashioned himself after the pirates of old, but you know he’s just a burly bully with delusions of grandeur. He’s kidnapped your pal, DK, so roll up your sleeves and get ready to rumble!

Rarewhere: DKC Trilogy Cast List[edit]

APPEARS IN: DKC 1, 2, 3

He just won’t stay down! No matter how many times DK, Diddy, Dixie and Kiddy trounce the scaly Kremling overlord, he always manages to spring back in a new guise with an even more dastardly plan up his sleeve. He failed to beat back the Kongs in his role as King, he failed as a hardy pirate Kaptain and he failed once more as loopy scientist Baron K. Roolenstein. Nevertheless, he's a single-minded scoundrel and he'll keep coming back with his loyal Krem hordes, dreaming up wilder and wilder schemes to gain control of DK Country...

Donkey Kong 64[edit]

  • Instruction booklet bio from Professor Cranky Kong (page 10): While K. Rool may have ditched his ridiculous disguises, his intentions are as evil as ever. Fortunately, a combination of his own incompetence and useless minions have allowed us to defeat him in the past. But the future of Kong Isle rests in the ability of Donkey and his new buddies to prevent the croc’s latest effort. I could defeat him single-handedly of course, but then you wouldn’t have a game to play would you?
  • Rarewhere: As if you'd ever doubted it, the Kremling overlord is back - and his less-than-brilliant track record has made him more determined than ever to have his way with the Kongs' homeland. But this time he's moved on from a simple takeover bid... now he wants the whole place turned into rubble! Could Crocodile Isle's new Blast-O-Matic cannon finally tip the odds against DK & Co.?
  • Prima Games guide (page 14): He's back! That evil lizard just won't give up! This time, he's sure he'll win—but he's always sure he'll win. With a new clan of thugs and evil-doers, K. Rool threatens to blast DK Island to smithereens. You must stop him.

The demented head of the Kremlings and big boss in the Donkey Kong series, K. Rool is a giant, greedy glutton with a serious eye tic. While he fits the evil boss mold nicely, he's just enough of a bumbler to have gained a few fans over the years. His plan to blow up the DK Isles with his Blast-o-Matic shows how unbalanced he is.

Rool, made an appearance in the game Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.

Whereas Mario often squares off against Bowser, Donkey Kong must fight against King K. Rool. He's a big croc with a big attitude...and a tiny crown. He probably could have been Donkey Kong's most trustworthy animal friend. Think he'll ever have a change of heart? Not likely. (American English)
This guy is to Donkey Kong what Bowser is to Mario. This crowned Kremling has a serious attitude problem. If only he could have been one of DK's Animal Friends instead... Maybe with just a little change of heart, he still could be! On second thought...nope. Never gonna happen. (British English)

Palutena's Guidance[edit]

  • Pit: Who's this guy? Talk about your super heavyweight!
  • Palutena: That's the leader of the Kremlings, King K. Rool.
  • Pit: Kremlings?
  • Palutena: A race of crocodile people.
  • Viridi: I hear they like bananas. Blech...
  • Pit: But I thought Donkey Kong was the one who liked bananas.
  • Viridi: I'm pretty sure all mouth-breathing knuckle-draggers like bananas. They're like the litmus test for idiocy.
  • Pit: I don't know what that means, but I LOVE BANANAS!
  • Viridi: The prosecution rests!
  • Palutena: Back to the fight at hand, some attacks will fail to penetrate King K. Rool's large, leathery belly. You might want to consider incorporating more grabs into your battle strategy.

Super Smash Blog bio[edit]

With long-distance special moves like the Blunderbuss, and counter moves like Stomach Attack, he is a versatile fighter. His Final Smash, Blast-O-Matic, was apparently a weapon created to destroy DK Island...
