This level is unlocked after a total of ten [[Shine Sprite]]s have been collected, after which Mario can access Pinna Park by using a cannon found in the northwest corner of [[Delfino Plaza]]. A single boat sits in the water at the level access point, but it cannot be used by the player. Pinna Park can be seen from every location except for [[Noki Bay]] and the [[Delfino Airstrip]]. Additionally, Pinna Park is the only location from which [[Sirena Beach]] can be seen in the daytime. Looking toward Pinna Park from [[Pianta Village]] during one of the episodes that takes place at night, the player can see that it is lit up, revealing that the park remains open at night.

It and [[Gelato Beach]] are the only locations on Isle Delfino that are never covered in [[goop]]. It is also one of two locations that does not contain any [[nozzle box]]es, the other being Sirena Beach. Pinna Park is one of the few locations that features music that is not a variation of [[Delfino Plaza]]'s music. Instead, part of the beach theme uses a rearrangement of the secret levels that take place in the sky, making this the only main area in the game to use a cover of a secret level's music. Pinna Park is also unique in that it is the only location in the game where [[Yoshi]] is available in all 8 episodes after being unlocked. In addition, it is the only location that contains two [[Yoshi's Egg|Yoshi egg]]s, one in the park and one on the beach (although the one found in the park is only available during [[The Yoshi-Go-Round's Secret|Episode 6]]).

Pinna Island is split between two locations: a beach and a theme park. The beach runs along the eastern coast of the island, has several palm trees, a [[papaya]]-bearing [[Pianta]]-shaped tree<ref>{{cite|author=Averill, Alan, and Jennifer Villarreal|title=''Super Mario Sunshine'' Player's Guide|page=73|publisher=Nintendo of America|language=en-us|date=2002|isbn=1-930206-23-2}}</ref> also known as the [[zeldawiki:The Great Deku Tree|Deku Tree]]<ref>{{cite|author=Loe, Casey|title=''Super Mario Sunshine'' Perfect Guide|page=62|language=en-us|date=August 12, 2002|publisher=Versus Books|isbn=1-931886-09-1}}</ref>, and is home to the [[Great Sunflower]] and the [[Sunflower Kid]]s. The sand will also reveal several yellow [[coin]]s, [[Blue Coin|blue coin]]s, and [[fruit]] if the player sprays along it. The number of coins in the sand will increase after Episode 4. During [[The Beach Cannon's Secret|Episode 2]], a [[Monty Mole]] firing [[Bullet Bill]]s will be placed on the far side of the beach, and during [[The Wilted Sunflowers|Episode 4]], several [[Snooza Koopa]]s will be placed near the sunflowers. Also during both Episodes 2 and 4, the entrance to Pinna Park will be closed off.

The Clam Cups are on the right near the entrance, and have different kinds of shells spinning around in circles. They are based on real-life {{wp|Teacups|teacup}} amusement park rides. Spraying the clams will open them up, with the green one containing a [[Blue Coin|blue coin]]. It seems to gain a lot of popularity in [[Shadow Mario in the Park|Episode 7]]. If the player goes to the Clam Cups, they can see a Noki playing a conch shell. The song it is playing is the first six notes of the [[Ground Theme (Super Mario Bros.)|Ground Theme]] from ''Super Mario Bros.''

The Pirate Ships are featured in [[Red Coins of the Pirate Ships|Episode 3: Red Coins of the Pirate Ships]]. They are on the right side of the park, behind the Clam Cups. They start by swaying gently, then swing in a full circle every third full swing. In Episode 3, the Pirate Ships have [[Red Coin|red coin]]s on them, and Mario has to collect all eight of them to find a Shine Sprite.

The Roller Coaster is featured in [[Mecha-Bowser Appears!|Episode 1: Mecha-Bowser Appears!]] and [[Roller Coaster Balloons|Episode 8: Roller Coaster Balloons]]. The track of the Roller Coaster goes all over the park, and has [[water rocket]]s placed at regular intervals. Mario cannot get on the Roller Coaster cars normally, so he must speak to the operator to get on. In Episode 1, Mario must ride on the Roller Coaster while shooting water rockets at [[Mecha-Bowser]] and destroying the [[Bullet Bill]]s. In Episode 8, Mario must ride on the Roller Coaster and shoot water rockets at the twenty Bowser Jr.-shaped balloons floating around the park.
