"The plumber's weapon of choice. Push down on the shaft to unclog even the cloggiest of pipes." | |
First appearance | Paper Mario: Color Splash (2016) |
- “I don't care what you have to do. Just UNCLOG THIS STUPID PIPE!”
- —Rescue Green, Paper Mario: Color Splash
The Plunger is a Thing in Paper Mario: Color Splash. It can only be purchased from the Wringer for 150 coins. However, when Mario first speaks to the Wringer, he gives the Plunger to him for free. Once it has been picked up, it is wrung out, refills Mario's paint, and becomes a colorless card. As an unpainted card, the Plunger sells for 1 coin and a replica version of it can be collected from the Battle Spin.
When it is used in battle, the scenery changes to a nighttime city setting. The Plunger moves closer to the enemies as spotlights shine on it. It flies upwards and lowers itself onto the enemy. Small enemies are covered by the cup while the cup covers a portion of large enemies. The handle rapidly moves up and down, creating clouds of dust. The handle does one final push before releasing from the enemy and flying away. Any subsequent enemies are only attacked once. The player can press as the Plunger releases from the enemy to increase the damage dealt.
The Plunger is needed at the Indigo Underground. When Mario first attempts to go down the Warp Pipe, he is stopped by Rescue Green. Attempting to pull him out will tire out Mario. Rescue Green also warns that his legs might get torn off. Instead, Mario must use Cutout and place the Plunger card. It lowers over the pipe's opening and pulls out Rescue Green after some pushes.
The Plunger can also be placed into the Prisma Museum, where it can be tested.
