In the beta version of Yoshi's Story the Bone Dragons aren't "Bone Dragons" exactly, instead they are fleshed purple dragons making them less scary.

The Bone Dragon Pit is a large tunnel that poses as the native home of Spikes, Nipper Plants, and the dreaded Bone Dragons. Above it is a rocky steppe.
