Stone Spike Conveyors, or Layer-Cake Desert-5, is the fifth level of Layer-Cake Desert in New Super Luigi U. This level is based upon Dry Desert Mushrooms from New Super Mario Bros. U. This level features several moving platforms, with Stone Spikes being prominent enemies. This level is unlocked by completing The Walls Have Eyes and its own completion unlocks Spinning Sandstones.

Layout[edit]

Luigi begins the level near a lift on a track with a Stone Spike that leads down to the first Star Coin. A Koopa Troopa is then found on a Mushroom Platform, and is followed by multiple small lifts moving in a circle with Stone Spikes above. Another section of lifts on a track is then found, along with a Stone Spike. More Mushroom Platforms are then found, and a Koopa Troopa is found on a row of Brick Blocks. Another group of lifts moving in a circle along a track is then found, with Stone Spikes and a Green Ring above them. More Stone Spikes and lifts on tracks are then found afterwards. One lift then takes the player past a group of three Stone Spikes, leading to the Goal Pole.
