Talk:Isle Delfino

It says that the only inhabitants of Isle Delfino are Noki's and Pianta's, but what about them bear-like creatures that run the boathouse and the boats in Noki Bay. Dry Bones 13

They could be Tanookis. Monty Mole (Talk·Contribs) 16:35, 3 November 2006 (EST)

You mean the Tanookis? -- Sir Grodus

Heh. Precisely. Monty Mole (Talk·Contribs)

OK, thanks, but shouldn't it that be changed?Dry Bones 13

How'd you get the bird's eye view? Is it in the game?

Yes mr. I do not sign my comments, it's in the game. Sigh... A sprite of Mayor Penguin from Paper MarioPaper Jorge

Where? Maxlover2 Did you use an action replay?

Nevermind. I found where it was. Near the beggining, before the plane goes on screen, right?

Do you think that the islands around Isle Delfino are partially inhabited by Piantas and Nokis?

Coconut Mall[edit]

Where is this confirmed to be on Isle Delfino? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 18:36, 15 May 2008 (EDT)

Well, I'd just like a confirmation that Coconut Mall IS on Isle Delfino. Everything about it says it is, because of all the Piantas, and a store called Delfino Dream. Or if it's in a generic Mushroom Kingdom tropical place. Most likely it's on Isle Delfino. But on what part of the island isn't confirmed. If I had to guess, I'd say Delfino Plaza, because there's not any Nokis present. Delfino Plaza only had Piantas. Other places it could be are Pinna Park, and maybe just some place we haven't seen on Isle Delfino alltogether, or it's brand new.Kobble 19:21, 15 May 2008 (EDT)

There is no proof at all that future "island" locations in games take place on Isle Delfino. We've already seen 90% of Isle Delfino in Super Mario Sunshine, and there just isn't room for much more on that island. Dogman15 (talk) 16:08, 21 August 2013 (EDT)

Blooper Bay?[edit]

While Blooper Bay has many attributes and homage to Isle Delfino, I don't think it really is in Isle Delfino. It could just be an independant chain of islands. Should this be removed? Kobble

Political Map[edit]

We should also add an image of the political map that shows the location of the citys/places you play at in game.--Sonicobbsessed 18:50, 4 June 2008 (EDT)

Has this political map ever appeared in a game or strategy guide? We don't allow fan stuff here.GreenKoopa - Comments or questions?

Shine Sprites?[edit]

Okay, this might sound stupid, but do Shine Sprites count as species of Isle Delfino? I mean, they do have eyes, and even though the stars in Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 do too, the people of Isle Delfino seem to consider them to be their protectors more than just inanimate objects to be collected so that the game can be completed, if you know what I mean. The main difference here seems to be that the Shine Sprites actually seem to be living, as they fled when Shadow Mario attacked, whereas most of the stars in the aforementioned three games were either inadvertently scattered or hidden on purpose. Also, "sprite" is in their name, which is a magical living being...

I know this is somewhat late, but I'm going to take a crack at this. I do not think the Shine Sprites are sentient. I think that their "fleeing" is simply them scattering as a result of the pollution. While not the same variety of game, the original Mario Party demonstrates that Power Stars can move of their own accord while not being sentient like the Star Spirits or the Millennium Star. As for the name, I think Nintendo wanted the item to fit in with the tropical theme, hence the sun shape and the shine part. Sprite might just have been chosen for its alliteration with shine. Extraneous Locations?[edit]

Where is the proof that Goomba's Booty Boardwalk has anything to do with Isle Delfino at all? For that matter, where's the proof that Coconut Mall and Peach Beach are on Isle Delfino either? Just because Piantas or Nokis appear in these places, and they look tropical, does not mean that they are necessarily part of Isle Delfino. The Starshine Beach Galaxy features a great deal of Piantas, but that's floating around in space...

¡Ganaste una Maxiestrella! PHOENIX (talkedits) 03:15, 8 May 2011 (EDT)

Peach Beach is confirmed from the European website "Take a spin around Isle Delfino, from Super Mario Sunshine. And see if you can you [sic] spot the Daisy Cruiser circuit in the background.” and Coconut mall is confired by the official Prima guide Goomba's Shoe15 (talk)
I think we can rule out Goomba's Booty Boardwalk and the Starshine Beach Galaxy as being part of Isle Delfino. The former's article does not mention Isle Delfino at all, and the latter is, like you said, Phoenix, in space. As for the others, I can't say, as I'm not a Sunshine buff, having never liked the concept. Mario4Ever (talk)
I agree that Goomba's Booty Boardwalk should be removed from the Isle Delfino location list (although it can probably be said that it's inspired by Isle Delfino on its article, and maybe even mentioned here somewhere, like in the Trivia, or as a side-note in the Locations section). The other locations, as Goomba's Shoe15 pointed out, are definitely part of the island and should stay. - Walkazo 12:43, 14 June 2011 (EDT)
Those (semi-)official sources don't know what they're talking about. There is no possible way that these locations in Kart and other sport games could take place on Isle Delfino. Dogman15 (talk) 16:10, 21 August 2013 (EDT)

Map?[edit]

According to the map, Isle Delfino is located in the Southern Seas. Should we add it as a small bit of trivia, or does it even matter? --Spongeman537 22:29, 21 July 2011 (EDT)

Isla[edit]

The "Foreign Names" section is a bit wrong, cause Italian for island is "isola", not "isla". --What's my name? 09:05, 14 January 2012 (EST)

Unused Super Mario Sunshine Locations?[edit]

As all of you may know on TCRF[1], Super Mario Sunshine would have had five more levels; Erto Rock, Hotel Lacrima, Warship Island/Battleship Island, Fire Shrine/Flame Temple, and Lighthouse Island. Should these cut areas be mentioned at all?--Holyromanemperortatan (talk) 18:45, 28 July 2013 (EDT)
