Thwomp Desert[edit]
In the battle mode section, there is a battle stage that is "similar to" Thwomp Desert. However, due to the attached video's music, I think this IS Thwomp Desert

Character & Vehicle Stats[edit]
With Mario Kart World now officially released, we should consider adding a section that displays the stats for the characters and vehicles onto the article. However, as shown on the demo footage, Bowser's stats for some vehicles (such as the Rally Kart) do not follow a consistent trend when compared to the rest of the roster, which could make finding the actual stats rather tricky.

Are those actually references to Princess Peach: Showtime!?[edit]
Currently, the references to other media list includes this:
- The stitch lines on the bodice of Princess Peach's dress are kept from this game, and also applied to Daisy's design.
- Peach's "Touring" costume has her hair wrapped in a ponytail with a magenta bow.
I always had doubts about the latter especially being a reference, but with the info we got on the game's development, I doubt it even more. Like, the game started development in 2017 and concept art of Peach with that exact bow (and outfit) was seemingly made pretty early on: File:MKWorld Concept Artwork.png. And considering it seems that the latest game to get music remixes is Bowser's Fury, which released in 2021… I just think it was way too early for them to know about Showtime, and thus not a reference but a coincidence. And the stitch lines could just be a detail / graphics thing honestly. I guess maybe that could still count as a reference, but eh. Technetium (talk) 14:00, June 5, 2025 (EDT)
Stickers section?[edit]
Can we get a stickers section added? I've started uploading images of the stickers here - https://www.mariowiki.com/Category:Mario_Kart_World
I'd add it myself but I don't have permission to edit the Mario Kart World page.
Robhlark (talk) 04:57, June 6, 2025 (EDT)
- I've added them to Gallery:Mario Kart World#Stickers (which isn't protected, so you can edit that page). For future reference, those images should be in "Category:Mario Kart World screenshots", so they're now found there; and make sure to fill in the "aboutfile" template in the file summary instead of removing it.

Mirror Mode[edit]
Is there any definite answer on how to unlock Mirror Mode?
Joeyxclr (talk) 13:30, June 6, 2025 (EDT)
- there seems to be a glitch that means it's only available to Australians right now. All people posting about unlocking it online are Australian, and even the press video that Mirror was leaked in was Australian. Either a 1 in a million coincidence or a glitch. - YoYo
(Talk) 19:32, June 6, 2025 (EDT)
- From what I've seen mirror mode is unlocked by doing 100 things in Free Roam and beating the special cup. -- Digolas (talk) 10:41, 7 June, 2025 (EUT)
- Nintendo of Europe (not sure about other regions) sent an email detailing the unlock requirements, which are: finding 10 ? Panels, finding 10 Peach Medallions, finishing 10 P-Switch missions, and completing each 150cc and Knockout cup. Not sure if this implies 150cc Knockout or if any class works though, the wording here isn't precise. Doesn't say anything about beating Special Cup a second time too. BlueYoshi-57EML (talk) 15:23, June 12, 2025 (EDT)
- Why don't they just tell the wiki staff about it if they see it's clearly causing confusion? Though I shouldn't be surprised; it's Nintendo. -- Digolas (talk) 20:18, 24 June, 2025 (EUT)
Classic Track Racing (3 Laps, no Routes between tracks)[edit]
I think this topic should be added somewhere on this page so it is clear how to do it.
- In offline play, select "VS Mode", decide the rules and after picking the track select the first option from the route selection.
- In worldwide and online play, after being shown the three tracks that have routes included press + to enable the course map. From there follow the same steps; pick a track and select the option without routes.
Most people don't know about this. Please make it a topic somewhere like Playing classic 3 lap courses, it's desperately neeeded. -- Digolas (talk) 15:19, June 7, 2025 (EUT)
- Added it to the VS Race section. --

alrighty something needs to be done about this page[edit]
I don't know if it's the number of images or the size of the page or what, but this is the only time in ~15 years of off-and-on browsing this wiki that my browser just 100% cannot handle a page. Freezes up my whole computer. And there's a crazy amount of detail about background elements on here that can easily be trimmed.
(also, hey uh, at what point and for why was it decided that you have to have an account to make any changes at all? it wasn't that long ago that there was a proposal allowing anonymous users to participate in talk page proposals and now the whole site's locked down? weird) Jp.n.b (talk) 11:49, June 9, 2025 (EDT)
- About IP editing, it was disabled due to a vandal using 100+ IP addresses a month or two back. A case of one person ruining it for everyone else, essentially. Enemies are referred to as "Bowser's minions"[edit]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQwTkFoZJy4&t=1027s The title is pretty self explanatory. Should this be changed in the article (ex. in the subsection name "Enemies, animals, and other species")? BitChippy (talk)
- I don't think so. Many of these "Bowser's minions" just walk across the track and don't try to get in the player's way. Not to mention that some of them such as Signal Bug are downright friendly. I think it's just lumping them together. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 09:02, June 11, 2025 (EDT)
Character costumes own page[edit]
Should all the character costumes get an own page?
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Matpb156 (talk).
- As far as I know, the costumes have no mechanical differences from the characters themselves, so there's not really any benefit to giving them articles. A list of them, where they can be gained and with which Dash Food items could be added to Dash Food but that's about it. — Lady Sophie

Skylanders: SuperChargers reference ?[edit]
isn't that bowser outfit a reference to Skylander? especially with the name supercharged? Pingouinsandwich (talk) 18:58, June 11, 2025 (EDT)
- The closest image I can find is this one. Besides the similar colour scheme, none of the design elements in the outfit are particularly similar, though, so I wouldn't say it's a reference. It just seems to reference the "super charging" mechanic in the Bowser's Castle course where you drive super fast (presumably super charged from lightning). Change "Jukebox" section title to "Music"[edit]
The only reference I see to the "jukebox" name is in the cited "Ask the Developer" interview, but that interview just says: During development, we called this the “jukebox.” The section title should be changed, and the current description of the music as "part of what is called the jukebox" should be either removed or changed to reflect that it's a name used during development. Mario revolution (talk) 03:11, June 12, 2025 (EDT)
- I agree, "jukebox" is never mentioned in-game. (Although I personally hope they'll add it as a music player in the game.) MarioComix (talk) 17:29, June 12, 2025 (EDT)
It's SW Sky-High Sundae!!![edit]
The mk world wiki page says that it's tour/sw sky-high sundae even though it released on the switch that said there's only 3 sw nitros which include squeaky clean sprint, yoshi's island, and of course sky-high. Even though the track was on tour it released on the mobile game like 2 weeks after it's 8 deluxe release so please just fix it and make it SW Sky-High Sundae.

- This wiki treats Sky-High Sundae as a new track for both games; it was labeled as "new" in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and uses the same "mob" prefix in the files for Mario Kart Tour, same as every other Tour course. As such, we treat is as a track from both games.

Wrong and missing music tracks[edit]
In the music list there are a few tracks listed that are wrong:
- The SMW Athletic remix listed is actually one of three remixes of the Ground BGM, that one being the "Big Band" remix, while the one listed as "Ground BGM" is a rock remix
- There's a Conkdor Canyon remix listed, but the source video doesn't play any remix of that song, it instead plays a remix of Bone-Dry Dunes, which likely caused that confusion
As for missing tracks:
- There's a third SMW Ground Theme remix that isn't listed, that one being a bluegrass remix. Source
- There's a faster version of Frappe Snowland as well. Source
- There's also a night remix of the Super Mario Kart title theme that isn't listed. Source
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pink Gold Peach (talk).
- I was hoping a Nintendo Music release this week would sort all this out, but here we are... to piggyback off this, I have a few others:
- There are two versions of the Super Mario Bros. Ground BGM. The one linked is the "Night" variant, but there's a "Day" variant as well Source
- There's an Underwater BGM arrangement from Super Mario World: Source
- There are two versions of Steam Gardens. The one linked is the "Fast" variant that can play during a Lightning Cup intermission. There's also a Free Roam variant Source
- The reason I bring this up here rather than just making the changes is because I think this section can be better formatted as a sortable table. Check out this Google Sheet I've been working on tracking all 226 non-racing/battle songs found in the game. The "missing" column notes whether the song is absent from the Wiki, and/or this YouTube playlist. The second sheet of the workbook also indicates which songs may play during every intermission of the Grand Prix. Hoping to start tracking which songs can play roaming at Day and which at Night, but that may need to be a larger community project.

Request for main page edit for music tracks[edit]
I was hoping that someone could quickly edit the 'Music' section of the Mario Kart World page to where Wario Stadium from Mario Kart DS can be mentioned alongside Waluigi Pinball regarding tracks for courses that don't appear in the game (like how they did for those such as 'Frappe Snowland/Sherbert Land'. Just update the 'Waluigi Pinball (daytime version)' and 'Waluigi Pinball (nighttime version)' to where it says 'Waluigi Pinball/Wario Stadium (daytime version)' and 'Waluigi Pinball/Wario Stadium (nighttime version)'. Jdimock (talk) 08:17, July 29, 2025 (EDT)
- In addition, for the Double Dash music section, the ‘Staff Credits’ music should also be included under ‘Rainbow Road’. Jdimock (talk) 08:16, July 29, 2025 (EDT)
Players in single-system multiplayer are kicked if they're too far behind[edit]
I don't know if I'm the first person to notice this, but in single-system multiplayer, if a player is too far behind on a Connected race (the intermission between two courses), they're kicked in the same manner as a player being eliminated in Knockout Tour or Balloon Battle.
Where should this bit of information go?

Why is Moo Moo Meadows as a battle course listed as a WiiU course?[edit]
So I noticed that in the "Battle courses" section of the course list, Moo Moo Meadows is listed as a WiiU course. Should it really be counted as one? I know it was a battle course in Mario Kart 8, but there it's listed as a Wii course (as with the other classic courses having their original prefixes), despite it being absent in Mario Kart Wii's own battle mode. Also, World's version looks almost nothing like 8's and is actually suitable for battles.
So I suggest one of the following:
1. The course no longer be listed as a WiiU course to say it's a new course in World.
2. The course instead be listed as a Wii course, and the other classic courses have their console of origin next to their names, like Big Donut.
3. Make a new page called "Moo Moo Meadows (Battle course)" to differentiate it from its Grand Prix counterpart, as it doesn't make sense to have 2 supposedly different courses in one article. The Dab Master (talk) 22:33, June 26, 2025 (EDT)
Jukebox music in Knockout Tour?[edit]
In many instances where it is mentioned that a piece of music is arranged for Mario Kart World's "jukebox", it is written as some variation of "an arrangement of [this piece of music] can play in Free Roam and during routes in Grand Prix or Knockout Tour.". Some examples: Underwater BGM (Super Mario Bros. 3), Riverside Park, Ending (Super Mario World), DK's Jungle Parkway
In all instances I've seen, routes during Knockout Tour only ever play the music for the actual courses. So my question is, under which circumstances does this happen and is there a source that demonstrates this? Polley001 (talk) 08:17, June 29, 2025 (EDT)
- I think it was misconstrued, the "jukebox" pieces can only play in Grand Prix and VS mode, from my experience. But not 100% sure on how it works in online play, I haven't delved into it yet. MarioComix (talk) 19:15, June 29, 2025 (EDT)
Subjectivity and Redundancy of "Absent Course Themes"[edit]
Several of the themes listed as being missing are very similar remixes of existing course themes, such as Luigi's Mansion, Sweet Sweet Kingdom, and Dragon Palace. Further, Yoshi's Island is a very faithful arrangement of the athletic theme from Yoshi's Island. This is in spite of the fact that Sherbet Rink and Honeybee Hive are listed together (which makes sense given that there would be nearly no way to distinguish an arrangement of them).
Also, I've been trying to look through the rulebook but I can't find anything pertaining to the policy for listing what's not in a game. I personally think its helpful but I can see how it could be construed as redundant to the section listing what arrangements are present just before, and how it could be a slippery slope, i.e. listing what course themes aren't in Mario Maker. Anyone know? I'm just a guy who fixes mistakes when I see em so lmk!
-Four-Twenty-Four Jake (talk) 07:03, July 1, 2025 (EDT)
- I would argue that if Yoshi's Island was remixed, it'd have some quotes from that version of the song (Notice how some of the notes are syncopated). The Dab Master (talk) 01:27, July 2, 2025 (EDT)
- Have to agree, the arrangement of Athletic BGM is quite clearly not taking queues from the Yoshi's Island course's version. It's a similar case to DK Jungle which does have a distinct arrangement seperately from the arrangement of DK Island Swing. Polley001 (talk) 02:38, July 2, 2025 (EDT)
- I agree both on the subjectivity angle and on the lack of necessity. It isn't especially interesting and assumes intent on the developers' part to be "exhaustive" with the music picks. DryKirby64 (talk) 22:53, July 7, 2025 (EDT)

Converting Jukebox section to table?[edit]
I don't think I have the know-how to do this myself, but I wanted to float the idea of revising the Jukebox section as a table that also includes checkboxes for whether a song can play during routes, in Free Roam during the day, in Free Roam at night, and the main menu. That'd be a more intuitive way of showing what songs can play when than just listing it out, and I think it'd be worth including. I do think the Free Roam and menu selection are shared as a whole, though there's a clear selection of songs reserved specifically for night (and not just specific night remixes). I've found that if the song selection just starts playing music in order, it stops once sunset begins in-game, and it also will skip over select tracks like the Rainbow Road themes post-64 (except for 7), the Bowser's Castle themes, and other songs like Ghost Valley, so I don't think it'd be too time-consuming to figure out what music can play where unless it does turn out that the main menu has a selection of music all its own. Proposal: Remove "Absent course themes" section from article[edit]
| This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal. |
Remove "Absent course themes" section from article 11-1
If you ask me, the mentioned section seems a little redundant and unnecessary. I don't see how something that ISN'T in a game is relevant to its article, at least in this case. I think the list should be removed entirely, and the trivia at the bottom should be moved up to the top part.
However, I'm not sure if I want to to this without consent from everyone. So what do you guys think?
(Also, why only Mario Kart courses specifically? Why not include more stuff like title, menu and staff credits themes? Or even stuff from the mainline games?)

Music to my ears! (Support)[edit]
- The Dab Master (talk) Per proposal.
- PrincessPeachFan (talk): We don't list whenever Mini Stars don't make appearances outside of MP9, 10, Island Tour and Jamboree. Why should we do this?
- Hewer (talk) I kinda see how the list could be interesting but I think it's really weird to have a chunk of a game article dedicated to listing things that aren't in the game. It's also weird to single out Mario Kart course themes when the game's soundtrack has themes from a bunch of other games as well, yet we aren't listing every level theme from the platformers that was excluded, because there's no reason to expect every single one to be included. If someone's curious about what isn't in the game, they can deduce it by looking at what's missing from the list of things that are in the game.
- Waluigi Time (talk) I can't think of any other case where we dedicate so much article space to content that isn't in the game (outside of a remake removing content from the original). If just a few were missing, it might be an interesting trivia point, but nearly 40 themes are absent so being exhaustive clearly wasn't the goal.
- Camwoodstock (talk) Per Waluigi Time. Maybe if the exceptions were far more exceptional, a note would be worth it, but as it stands, this is just kind of clogging up the page with information on what the game doesn't even have.
- Rykitu (talk) Per all.
- LadySophie17 (talk) Per proposal and Waluigi Time.
- PopitTart (talk) Listing things that aren't in a game is already a fools errand. In this case, its even more redundant since it's acting as a functional repeat of the list of songs the game does have.
- 1468z (talk) Per all.
- Rering644 (talk) Per all.
- MariofanforeverReturns (talk): It is valuable info, but it is not valuable info appropriate for the article. I think the mockup Dab Mster made is worth exploring.

- YoYo (talk) not really any particular reason to get rid of it, it's info someone might be looking for and it's just convenient to have there if someone needs it.
Where's Berlin Byways? (Comments)[edit]

About these "nighttime" arrangements[edit]
| This talk page or section has a conflict or question that needs to be answered. Please try to help and resolve the issue by leaving a comment. |
I'm not entirely convinced that the themes that have "daytime" and "nighttime" identifiers are actually exclusive to any specific time of day. I've seen a few "nighttime" versions clearly play during the day.
A few examples:
I feel like it would be better if they were listed with their genre instead. The only reason I haven't done it myself is because I'm not really good at identifying music genres by myself. I also don't own the game (and probably won't for quite some time) so I can't sit in Free Roam for possibly 12+ hours to test out all the arrangements. The Dab Master 12:22, October 14, 2025 (EDT)
