Make sure it's not super-small. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 20:21, 17 January 2007 (EST)
It won't be. 3dhammer.gif 3D, who needs to make things BIGGER! 3dhammer.gif
OK. Smaller than I expected, but OK. I need a better scanner. 3dhammer.gif 3D, who needs better quality, that's what! 3dhammer.gif

SMW Hint Blocks[edit]

Wait a second... Is there a seperate article for the Hint Blocks in Super Mario World? They aren't "blocks that make faces", which this article is about, but they serve the exact same purpose as the YI Hint Blocks... Something tells me that those SMBDX Face Blocks might be a different thing than the YI ones. --YellowYoshi398 19:58, 6 February 2007 (EST)

What I'm trying to say is... this article is, well, confusing. I think the SMW, YI, and YS Hint Blocks should be considered Hint Blocks with the SMBDX Face Blocks having an article all on their own. (If official names mess this up, than correct me and hit me with a stick.) I'm tagging this with the split template right away. --YellowYoshi398 14:19, 2 April 2007 (EDT)
Actually, the official name of the SMW blocks is Message Block, which redirects here. / Time Q 17:44, 3 August 2007 (EDT)

I'd have to agree. But hey- I'm just the new guy. Dinosaur bob 11:16, 24 May 2007 (EDT)

I think there both the same thing, but maybe there's a subspecies of some sort. --A.J.theInsane 21:45, 6 June 2007 (EDT)

Well if message block redirects here, then there should at least be some info and a picture on the subject...at least for now.

Who decided that the face blocks in SMBDX count as "Hint Blocks"? Vent (talk) 13:00, 13 March 2013 (EDT)

Moved original pic in box[edit]

I moved the sprite that was in the box down to the upper right, in favor of the official artwork from Yoshi's Story. Didn't know where else to move it. Any complaints, feel free to change it. - Icysugarspike (talk) 13:50, 3 September 2013 (EDT)

NSMBWII[edit]

Did they made an appearance in new super mario brow wii? --78.248.232.59 13:48, 1 April 2016 (EDT)

No. Chocolate Mario 13:50, 1 April 2016 (EDT)
They aren't in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. You might be confusing them with the block inside Peach's Castle that gives you Hint Movies. Mario (Santa)'s map icon from Mario Kart Tour Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 13:53, 1 April 2016 (EDT)

When we go in the warp pipes of yoshis house, we can see 8 bit sprites and yellow blocks with a black round which in smw they are blue with orange rounds. --78.248.232.59 13:58, 1 April 2016 (EDT)

Ah, well, you're playing Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii, which is a popular mod for this game. Yeah, it does have a block on its own which does give you messages, but it's likely modified from the original block. Either way, we don't cover unsanctioned mods in this wiki mainly because there would be likely nearly infinite ways to cover them all. Mario (Santa)'s map icon from Mario Kart Tour Mario-HOHO! Super Princess Peach[edit]

Apparently, they are not mentioned in the Shogakukan guide. Also, the internal filename and appearance seem to refer more to the umbrella rather than the Message Block, given its internal filename being "Kassar Brock". Besides the function, is there any other proof that these are Message Blocks, or they can have their own article? --Ski Yoshi FanOfYoshi A Dr. Freezegood 07:55, 21 February 2019 (EST)

Yes, that's what I was thinking, but there might not be enough information on that, so I'm saying no. --KnightDarkNightKnight 15:33, October 10, 2020 (EDT)
I'm not sure, since we also detail the Super Mario World message blocks which look nothing like the Yoshi counterpart. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 15:35, October 10, 2020 (EDT)
Yeah, but the SMW ones are called the same thing and have the same use. --KnightDarkNightKnight 15:42, October 10, 2020 (EDT)
