"Longest track in the series"[edit]
This has been referred to as this numerous times, and while 3 laps around it may cover more distance that any other track in the series, I'm pretty sure one lap (ie, the actual length of the track) is a bit shorter than the MK8 dlc track Big Blue, and possibly some of the other end-to-end courses as well. - We might put it as the longest circuit in the series, although the concept of it being the longest track was only in the context of Mario Kart 64, I'm not sure if comparing between games is really possible...--Mister Wu (talk) 09:45, 17 January 2018 (EST)
- Yeah, as far as I know the track measurement was really only a thing in Mario Kart 64. I could do a comparison between N64 Rainbow Road and Big Blue if you want, see which one I finish first :P

- It is probably possible to find out how much distance is a meter in Mario Kart DS and afterwards. Just use a N64 track, divide it by the number of meters, then go that distance on the track and that is a meter. Once you found the meter, use that same distance to find the portion of the track you went on. This is the only method to find out meters. However, it is not very easy. As, one must be pretty precise about it due to it being such a small percentage (1/527 just for Moo Moo Farm in N64, the shortest in MK64).

- tbh I'd really rather avoid making length comparisons of tracks between completely different games in the series. It's fine to say Rainbow Road is the longest track in Mario Kart 64, but it's a more difficult statement to justify in the overall series.

- Decided to go through with the comparison anyway. MK8's N64 Rainbow Road took me 1:41.675 to finish, whereas Big Blue took me 1:50.166 to finish, using only Mario in the most Standard of Kart combinations and no Mushrooms or shortcuts (drifts and on-map boosts were fine). For funsies, did the original N64 Rainbow Road using the same parameters and it took me 1'52"50 to finish a lap. 15:51, 17 January 2018 (EST)
