Why[edit]
Why do we have an article specifically about Wario's grab? Actually, I take that back. I know why - it was created back in 2006 by an inexperienced user. So here's the real question: why do we still have an article specifically about Wario's grab? If anything, we should have an article about grabs in general, but not just Wario's. This is an identical scenario to the now-deleted "Wario Punch" article, with the only difference being the lack of a general "grab" article to merge it to. 01:28, 31 January 2019 (EST)
- Oh boy, we probably need articles on Wario's Land and Wario's Collect Money. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 15:02, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- This name doesn't even appear official, either. The Wario World instruction manual lists nothing on grabbing itself, just the moves that come from picking creatures up. 15:09, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- To be fair, his "holding" system in the Land games is somewhat unique. We probably should have a "pick up"/"carry" article, as it's not always generic to real life methods of carrying. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:12, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- I agree that this article should be deleted while making a general grab article similar to jump and punch, as having a page on Wario's ability to grab but not other characters' ability to grab does not make any sense, and it would not make sense to keep this page separate when and if a general grab page is made. I also agree with Doc von Schmeltwick that we should have a "pick up"/"carry" article. Doomhiker (talk) 15:14, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- I guess we can have a grab article if we do document every time those heroes can jump. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 15:19, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- As jumping is a central element to the franchise, I fail to see why having an article on it warrants dry remarks. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:20, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- I didn't mean to be snarky, that was a legit comment. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 15:29, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- Suppose it's just impossible to tell with you at this point lol Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:30, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- Perhaps. Before we create a grab article, I say not only we include this, but also maybe tidbits from Super Mario Bros. 2 (game is built around grabbing and throwing stuff), Super Mario Bros. 3 (first Mario game to let you grab stuff), and Super Smash Bros.? Most obvious ones. DK games maybe? Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 15:38, 1 February 2019 (EST)
- Probably DKC games, definitely DK94, as it takes heavily from SMB2 in that department. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:41, 1 February 2019 (EST)
