The 'Shroom:Issue 196/Fun Stuff
Director's Notes
Greetings, beautiful 'Shroom readers! Welcome to this July edition of Fun Stuff! We're in the midst of summer now, and things sure are wild in the world of Rose. The last month has been full of all sorts of transition for me, so hopefully it's been less turbulent for all of you - and if it has been, you're in common company. That doesn't stop Fun Stuff being its great self as always, though! We've got our excellent standard selection, so I know there'll be something here for you.
Take care of yourself, reader, and happy pride month! I forgot to say it last month, but thankfully, every month is pride month.

Anagrams
Written by: BBQ Turtle (talk)
Hey everyone, welcome to the July edition of anagrams! This month, I've put together some anagrams for you all based on all sorts of everythign from Mario Party 3; I've spared you the minigames though, so hopefully it shouldn't be an impossible challenge. If you fancy something more challenging and want to suggest a theme for it though, please let me know on my talk page or in a PM to me on the forums, it'd be great to hear from you- even with a suggestion of just a single Mario-related anagram! OK, let's start the party with these anagrams!
How it works...
Basically, this puzzle consists of solving the anagrams. Each month has a specific theme, which will give you a clue about what sort of words or phrases the anagrams will be. I've also included the boxes that the anagrams will fit into, so you'll be able to tell how many words it will solve to be and how many letters will be in each word, which should give you a hand too. You'll also notice that within each set of boxes, one of the squares are yellow. As you solve each anagram, note down the letter which appears in the yellow squares, and if you can solve all of the anagrams, you'll also get a bonus anagram to solve from completing all of the others. I've included the letter configuration for this one at the bottom too, just to give you an extra helping hand. Best of luck!
1. WOO SO DOWDY
2. WILLING US AS AID
3. SYNDICS PRAISE
4. EKE SLY TOKEN
5. LOVING DELUGE
6. PROCURES ALL HELP
7. GUMSHOE OR MINE
8. PEN SHAPING CAPE
9. SMART TAPS
10. TERMINUS IN MALL

Bonus anagram:

Word Search
QUICK GUYS, WHAT'S THE MOST RANDOM MARIO GAME THAT'S NOT, LIKE, MARIO FAMILY, THE TOTALLY REAL JAPANESE-ONLY GAME BOY COLOR GAME THAT CONNECTS TO SEWING MACHINES? THAT'S RIGHT, IT'S WARIO BLAST: FEATURING BOMBERMAN!, THE TOTALLY REAL GAME BOY CROSSOVER BETWEEN BOMBERMAN AND WARIO! Seriously, why does this game exist? Who looked at Bomberman and went "yeah, this is good, but it needs more Wario if we want to sell it in the west"? This just feels like a very random crossover, and, I really wish we could see the exact sales for Wario Blast. Anyways, this month's Word Search is all about this random piece of history. Words can be found vertically, horizontally, diagonally, backwards, and in other words! As always, have fun, stay safe!
Crossword
Written by: MarioMorty (talk)
Hello everyone, and welcome to yet another edition of Crosswords. This month we'll be focusing on everyone's favorite princess, Peach! I also forgot to mention in my last edition, but that was my 2nd year anniversary of making crosswords. I honestly can't believe that it's already been that long, but I look forward to making crosswords for everyone for years to come. And with that, I bow out and will see you next month.
Hiding Koopa

I wonder what the theme is going to be this month
Hello there, 'Shroom readers! How about that Direct, huh? Mario games still exist! Who knew? Crazy to think how for eight months straight we didn't know about any upcoming games, and now suddenly there's five of them. Today's theme is the weirdest Mario-themed announcement - in presentation, at least, if not concept necessarily - Super Mario Bros. Wonder! The Koopas are eager to get in on the action in Mario's latest mainline title, and five of them are hiding in its key artwork. I wonder if you can find them all!
Thanks for playing! Did you find them all? They say an elephant never forgets, so I guess Elephant Mario will remember how many Koopas you found forever.
Where in the Marioverse is Carmen Sandiego?
Each issue, you will be given a case to solve and clues to use to help you find the solution! Use your Mario knowledge to crack the case!
You will begin each case at the scene of the crime, and you will be given three clues from passerby as to where the next hot spot is and what game it’s from. Using your knowledge of Mario games and the Super Mario Wiki, figure out where the crook is and go track them down! There are four locations each round: the crime scene (1) at the start, two locations (2 and 3) with clues, and the hideout for the crook of the month (4). Answers for locations will be given with the corresponding round, for example, the clues from the crime scene will lead you to location 2, and once you open the spoiler bubbles for location 2, you will be given the correct answer. You can open the clues for each location in any order you’d like, but be careful! You may encounter an incorrect clue that could throw you off the case!
Clues offered will give you a hint either about the next location or the game it’s in. Unlike a regular Carmen Sandiego game, you do not have to collect information about the crook you are tracking down.
Challenge round (optional):
-Find all locations and games correctly in two minutes or less
-Find all locations and games correctly without using the rest of the Wiki for help
“We’ve got a case of the strikers-snatching scaries today, gumshoe! Carmen seems to have taken a liking to the Planetoid stadium from Mario Strikers: Battle League, as she’s had a crew extract it! Planetoid was the stadium that was introduced with volume 2 of the free DLC with the game, along with playable characters Pauline and Diddy Kong. It features small planets and satellites orbiting the turf while the players are on the field. We’re not exactly sure why Carmen has her eye on this one- a football stadium isn’t the most discreet place for despicable dealings, but either way, we need you to go out and track down the structure before she can set up shop with it. Time to get a move on, gumshoe!”

HIDEOUT ANSWER: Sponge Cave Spelunking from Yoshi's Woolly World
“You’ve done it again, gumshoe! Your cave deduction led us straight to their hiding spot- we found the entire stadium tucked away amongst the sponges. All of the seats were fully accounted for, even the ones in the nosebleed section. Carmen wasn’t seen in the area at all, so either she was tipped off that we would be coming or she lost interest in the stadium. Hopefully, she won’t make another appearance here! Mario and co. send their thanks to you, gumshoe, with your own custom football! We’ve put it in your trophy case with all of your other trinkets so you can admire it when you get back to the office. Not too long though- you’ve got a case report to write!”
