The 'Shroom:Issue XCVI/Opening Statement
Welcome, everybody! We are here with the March 2015 edition of The 'Shroom! I hope you all enjoy the content that we have to offer this month.
One thing I would like to bring up is the lack of the "Section of the Month" section from the Main Page. It has been decided that instead of it being an independent section, we will now feature it as a sub-section of the Opening Statement. This will ultimately improve the quality of both sections and can be a good opener for each issue. Other than covering the Section of the Month, the Opening Statement will generally include information that pertains to the newly-released edition as well as Sub-director's Notes. The Closing Statement will generally cover information about future issues, as well as long-term plans for The 'Shroom.
That being said, Gabumon (talk) has made new side banners for the Main Pages of our Spring editions (March, April, and May). You can always count on him to make cool things to make our paper look better! In the future, we also plan on adding new side banners for Summer (June, July, and August) and Fall (September, October, and November). The blue ones that we have been using throughout the past several years will be reserved for our Winter issues (December, January, and February). To those who live in the Southern hemisphere: sorry for things being backwards for you, but you live upside-down anyway! Get used to it, Dippy.
All kidding aside, that is all that I have to go on about for now. I hope you enjoy the rest of the issue!
Sub-director's Notes
I would like to thank all of our writers for contributing to this issue and their continuous support of this project. We are once more entering the season of green backgrounds. And speaking of that: This issue is very green in particular. Let us regard this as a reminder that green is a phenomenal, stunning, and all-around awesome color, and that all of us would love to collectively marry the color green if it was legal.
While we are on the subject of reminders, grim or otherwise, I would like to address something. While checking our material for things like coding errors and other things like that, I often notice that writers tend to re-use code from their older sections instead of writing it from scratch again. This saves time and is a perfectly valid practice.
However, if you re-use coding, please make sure to use the version on this site. That's the final version that has all the errors removed. If you base your new sections on an earlier version, one that has not been checked for errors, it will ensure that the same errors will pop up again and again, and I will have to remove them every month anew.
This request goes out to everyone, staff and writers alike. Thank you for listening, and I hope you will continue to do your best to support us.
