Images[edit]
Hello, Supermario522. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]]or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, Supermario522. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must apply the proper license. A full list of licenses can be found in the file copyright tags category, but the following are the most common:
When uploading, select the license from the drop-down box below the summary text box, or add the license manually after uploading or if you're using the upload function from the text editor. For example, artwork of Mario would use {{character-artwork}}. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Don't include multiple copyright templates; choose the one that you feel best fits the file. If you continue uploading files without applying the correct license, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
I'm curious where you found that image, myself. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:57, March 20, 2020 (EDT)
- Appears to be a blue variant of File:MP8 Toad Main Artwork.png. There was an editing error on the jacket. Please do not upload fan artwork, and please show where you get images from. 21:02, March 20, 2020 (EDT)
- It appears that person may have either edited Red Toad's artwork from Mario Super Sluggers to blue with some stray pixels not hued over or got the poorly edited artwork from Fantendo or Google Images. --Gamermakerguy (talk) 21:04, March 20, 2020 (EDT)
Broken code[edit]
Please do not deliberately place incomplete coding to be filled in later like this next time, it's unprofessional and makes the page look messy. If there's nothing you have to add, don't add the code at all. Mario JC 23:21, October 21, 2020 (EDT)
Placeholder content with information from a previous tour should also be avoided. If it's not complete, place {{construction|section=y}}
under the section header. Mario JC 19:59, November 4, 2020 (EST)
Please stop making unconstructive edits on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
This is sloppy and not acceptable. Do not simply copy/paste the previous tour information without changing anything other than the name and time; you're basically showing readers that this is the content that will be in the tour. If you don't have the time to fix it, then don't add it at all. Mario JC 06:49, November 13, 2020 (EST)
Please don't leave empty brackets like [[]] either like you did with the Cat Tour; this is also incomplete coding and should be avoided. Mario JC 21:52, January 27, 2021 (EST)
New Year's Tours[edit]
The official names are simply "New Year's Tour" and "New Year's 2021 Tour" which already distinguish them; please stop changing the names. Mario JC 01:31, January 27, 2021 (EST)
Table content / show preview[edit]
While you correctly added the Peach vs. Daisy Tour courses, you left the pipe items and Coin Rush course unchanged before someone else came and corrected them. Do not leave leftover information as I've already notified you above. Remove the previous tour's content and mark the section for {{construction}} if you don't have time to do it. If this happens again, a warning may need to be issued. This is what it should look like when not filled in:
{| align=center width=90% cellspacing=0 border=1 cellpadding=1 style="border-collapse:collapse; font-family:Arial; text-align:center" |- |rowspan=8| |colspan=9 style="color: #FFF; background: #000"|<big>'''Duration:''' – </big> |-style="background: yellow" |colspan=9|'''Coin Rush course'''<br> |-style="background: #89A" !colspan=9|Spotlights |-style="background: #ABC" !colspan=3 width=50%|Week 1 !colspan=3 width=50%|Week 2 |-style="background: #ABC" |width=16.7%|Driver |width=16.6%|Kart |width=16.7%|Glider |width=16.7%|Driver |width=16.6%|Kart |width=16.7%|Glider |- | | | | | | |- | | | | | | |- !colspan=3 |'''Ranked cup'''<br> !colspan=3 |'''Ranked cup'''<br> |}
Adding the table without the content at all is better than adding it with the wrong content that can mislead readers.
Also, please don't make multiple consecutive edits to the page in a short timespan. Next time, try to keep them in one big edit; you can do this by using the "Show preview" button next to the "Save page" button, which allows you to see what the table looks like before you publish it, and prevents flooding the history page with edits. Course variations in red text[edit]
A course in a current tour can't be marked as "hasn't yet made a reappearance" because it can't "reappear" yet if it's the current tour. Please check the article's history page next time you see an edit you made was removed. Mario JC 07:03, February 18, 2021 (EST)
