Wrinkly's Save Cave, later renamed to Wrinkly Refuge, is a grotto where Wrinkly Kong resides in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. It is the successor to the Kong Kollege from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Candy's Save Point from Donkey Kong Country, as Wrinkly's Save Cave is where Dixie and Kiddy Kong visit to save their game progress, though unlike Kong Kollege, Wrinkly does not provide any gameplay advice.

History
Wrinkly's Save Cave is a grotto in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, where Dixie and Kiddy Kong can have their game saved by Wrinkly Kong. There is a Wrinkly's Save Cave in every area of the Northern Kremisphere, including the greater overworld itself.
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
Wrinkly moved into several of her own caves in the Northern Kremisphere, following her retirement from Kong Kollege. A Wrinkly's Save Cave appears in every world of Northern Kremisphere, including the hub area itself, between Bazaar's General Store and Funky's Rentals. Each time Dixie and Kiddy enter Wrinkly's Save Cave, she is doing an activity, either exercising, playing a Nintendo 64, sitting on her couch, or sleeping. An arrangement of an early version of the "Inside the Castle Walls" theme from Super Mario 64 can be heard if Wrinkly is playing the Nintendo 64, and while doing so, Wrinkly asks, "Why don't they make games about knitting?" Wrinkly also looks after the Banana Birds rescued by the Kongs; after rescuing every Banana Bird, they return to the Banana Queen.

In the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country 3, Wrinkly's Save Cave is reduced to a single Wrinkly's Retreat on the main map, as saving is now done from the GBA menu. Meanwhile, the other Save Cave locations were replaced with Cranky's Dojo. At Wrinkly's Retreat, Wrinkly only waits for the Kongs to rescue the missing Banana Birds.
Wrinkly Kong, having retired from teaching at Kong Kollege (which sank along with the rest of Crocodile Isle), took up residence in several caves, where she spends her time either exercising, playing on her new Nintendo 64, or sleeping. When the Kongs pay a visit to her cave, they'll find Wrinkly doing one of the three. Regardless, Wrinkly will be more than happy to save their games, if only so that she can get back to what she is doing. If Wrinkly is asleep, the Kongs will opt to save their game themselves, although how this is accomplished is unseen.

Donkey Kong Land III / Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong
Wrinkly's Save Cave is also where the Banana Birds will go to hang out once they are rescued. If the Kongs return to Wrinky's Save Cave after rescuing every last Banana Bird, the birds will take them to the Banana Bird Queen, whom they will free, so that she can finally get revenge on Baron K. Roolstein.
In Donkey Kong Land III and its Japanese Game Boy Color release, Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong, Wrinkly Refuge has a similar interior layout as before, and other than Wrinkly no longer performing a random activity, the place is otherwise the same as in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

In Donkey Kong Land III, Wrinkly's Save Cave is changed to Wrinkly's Refuge, although it is still where the Kongs must go in order to save their game. However, the Banana Birds are absent.

In Game Boy Advance remake of the game, Wrinkly's Save Cave is reduced to a single Wrinkly's Retreat, as saving can be done at any time by pressing start on the map screen. At Wrinkly's Retreat, Wrinkly will wait while the Kongs seek out the lost Banana Birds, which in turn will fly to her retreat. Cranky's Dojo instead takes the place of where Wrinkly's Save Caves were in the Super Nintendo version.

* The theme "Inside the Castle Walls" from Super Mario 64 can be heard while Wrinkly is playing her N64. This was obviously a form of advertising to promote the new Nintendo 64, which was released about a month prior to Donkey Kong Country 3.
