Yoshi's Island appears as one of the locations in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
After Baby Bowser steals the first two Cobalt Shards, the Mario Bros. (Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi) enter the time hole to Yoshi's Island, located on the second floor of Peach's Castle. Upon arriving, the characters meet a reporter named Kylie Koopa and a giant Yoshi-like monster named Yoob. There are many Yoshi statues, though one of them has a hole with a spring coming out that Baby Mario can drink to become Pump Mario and spit out water in short spurts.
The young Kamek is encountered on Yoshi's Island, and he is first seen collecting Yoshi Cookies for Baby Bowser. Kamek is chased up the mountain by the Mario Bros. using techniques like Pump Mario and Spin Jump. At the top, the adult Mario Bros. find Baby Bowser and ask him for the shards. However, Baby Bowser becomes infuriated when the baby Mario Bros. eat all of his cookies, and a boss fight against Kamek begins. After a short chase, Baby Bowser eats the shards, but before the Mario Bros. can try to retrieve them, Yoob reappears and eats the Mario Bros. and Baby Bowser. They remain inside of Yoob until after defeating Sunnycide in Yoob's Belly, then the five characters, as well as Toadbert and the other Yoshis stuck inside of Yoob, exit the digestive tract and return on the island. Baby Bowser finally throws up the Cobalt Shards after eating more cookies as thanks for saving the Yoshis. The shards come to life and fling Baby Bowser off the island before being owned by the babies. Toadbert then tells the Yoshis that Baby Bowser was lying and it was the Mario Bros. that saved them. Yoob remains asleep on the mountain cliff, where his belly can be re-entered at any point. Meanwhile, Toadbert decides to relax on the island until Kylie Koopa hits him later on.
In the village area, a rendition of the title screen music from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island plays, despite the location having the same Japanese name as the Yoshi's Island in Super Mario World.
