Template:Level Demolition Drain-Pipe is the seventeenth level in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy Advance game, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! It is also the second area of Mekanos.
The Kongs will speed through most of this pipeline level in a toboggan. The toboggan can ride along the bottom of the pipeline and also grab onto some rails suspended from the ceiling. However, the toboggan can be very hard to control, especially for novice players, as the small vehicle's speed can not be adjusted. Because of this, it is very easy to fall into the small gaps around the level or hit into obstacles. To make things worse, the level is filled with many Buzzes and Knik-Knaks to hinder the monkeys' progress. Luckily, though, they are the only enemies in the level, and they can be crushed by the toboggan when jumped on.
Level Layout
When the level begins, the heroes will find themselves near a small gap. If they jump in, they will land in a toboggan. The toboggan will quickly begin to move automatically, taking the monkeys through the Buzz-infested pipeline. The toboggan will ride along the curvy pathway, leading them to a railing with the letter K. The vehicle will continue to move as they grab the item, making the Kongs jump over more Buzzes and other obstacles. Eventually, the heroes will meet the level's first Knik-Knak, who will help them reach a high railing with a DK Barrel if jumped on. However, the monkeys will have to let go of the railing quickly, as a Buzz lurks near the DK Barrel. Continuing through the level, the apes will jump over a few more obstacles, and also grab the letter O under a Buzz. Just a little bit farther from there, they will come up to the Star Barrel.
About halfway into the level, the heroes will ride into another DK Barrel and find themselves riding towards several pairs of Buzzes. They will have to jump between each group to progress. They will also find a few gaps in the area, which they should jump over at all costs. After jumping over two more small gaps, they will find a railing to grab onto with the letter N, along with some bananas. Crossing another set of gaps, they will find themselves dodging even more Buzzes and a few Knik-Knaks. As they near the end of the level, the heroes will find two Knik-Knaks in their way. They will have to jump between the enemies while watching out for a few gaps around the area. In this area, Kiddy and Dixie can also find the letter G on the above railing. Heading on, the monkeys will meet a few more Buzzes to jump over until they notice an Auto Fire Barrel at the end of the track. If they jump into this barrel, they will be shot upwards next to a flagpole. Once they raise the flag on the pole, the level will end.
Secrets
Bonus Levels
- Not too long before the letter O, the apes will encounter a Buzz with a banana above him. They should jump to that banana to land in a hidden Bonus Barrel. It will take them into a Bonus Level, where they will need to ride through a short area, defeating six Knik-Knaks. Once all the enemies are defeated, the monkeys will find a Bonus Coin at the end of the stage.
- After the letter N, the heroes will find a Bonus Barrel hidden in a small gap. They should get in the barrel to be lead into a Bonus Level. In the Bonus Level, they will be shot strait up to a long railing. As they ride down this railing, they will collect many stars. Sometimes in the stage, the apes will also find some stars above Buzzes. If they make it to the end of the stage with all of the stars, a Bonus Coin will appear.
DK Coin
- At the end of the level, the heroes will find a Steel Barrel next to the flagpole. They should carry the barrel over the gap to the left to find a Koin with the DK Coin. The enemy will not give up the coin without a fight, so the apes will have to use their Steel Barrel to attack. If they are to stand on the foe's shield and throw the barrel to the nearest wall, the barrel will bounce back and hit the Koin. This will defeat the Kremling, thus giving the Kongs the DK Coin.
