It appears in two levels of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, as well as Yoshi's New Island. Jean de Fillets stick their heads out of the water or lava, then jump out. They can be defeated with a well timed egg throw. A boss version of a Jean de Fillet, known as Fred de Fillet, appears in World 4-8: Furious Fred de Fillet's Castle in Yoshi's New Island.
