Baffle's code room

Baffle is a member of the Brothers Bear who appears in the game Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. Baffle resides in a code room located in KAOS Kore.

A self-proclaimed code breaker, Baffle has discovered a clue he cannot crack. He will explain this dilemma to Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong if they pay him a visit. In order to help Baffle solve his code, the Kongs will need the Mirror, which Bazaar sells. Once the Kongs give Baffle the mirror, he will be able to read the secret code, which will direct the Kongs to swim around the two rocks in KAOS Kore's lake in a figure eight fashion. By doing so, they will open up a sealed Banana Bird Cave. When the Kongs visit him after that, he will be giving up to four scrambled messages. The player can re-construct it, revealing messages like "Hello Kongs! How are you today?", "How's it going good buddies!", "You've just wasted fifteen seconds", or "Haven't you got anything better to do?". These messages are either backwards or re-arranged.

It is possible for the Kongs to open the Banana Bird Cave without ever dealing with Baffle, although only experienced players would know to do so. However, giving Baffle the Mirror is the only way to learn how to open the Banana Bird Cave without outside help.
