Template:Minigame-infobox Blooper Barrage is a boss minigame featured in Mario Party 9. This minigame is similar to Balloonatic from Mario Party 7.
Introduction
The view shows a ship out at sea, with some islands nearby. The camera then zooms in on the ship and then on a whirlpool, which Blooper emerges from. The view then pans back to the players on the ship, cannons mounted.
Gameplay
The player must point and fire at Blooper while it is out of the ocean. After a few seconds of remaining above the ocean, Blooper will dive back down. Each successful hit earns the player one point. Blooper attacks by tossing Urchins at the players. The Urchins can be shot down, and getting hit by one deducts a point from the player. Each time an Urchin is shot by a player, unless it is close enough to the player, it will head towards another. When Blooper loses half its health, it will become enraged; it will move faster, shoot ink at parts of the screen to make it harder for the players to see, and toss more Urchins. Once Blooper is defeated, the player who scores the most points wins.
Ending
Blooper will move around dazed, and then explode. The whirlpool will die down, and several Mini Stars will appear.
