While the Nintendo Official Guidebook and site of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! only use the term Nosshī to refer to the light blue one, internal data indicates that the red and yellow one found in the course are Nosshīs as well.[3]

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Nosshīs first appear in the Dino Dino Jungle track of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. There the light blue one mainly acts as a hazard for the racers passing near it in the canyon, being able to stomp them with its feet. It can also be met when passing on the wooden bridge that crosses the canyon, where it is able to make the karts spin with its head.
Additionally, two Nosshīs, one colored red and the other colored yellow, appear moving through the lake where the branching boardwalk lies.
Mario Kart 7
The light blue Nosshī reappears in the GCN Dino Dino Jungle track of Mario Kart 7, in the same place where it is found in the original course. The main difference is that in this course, this Nosshī stretches its neck, making it an obstacle for the drivers gliding above the wooden bridge.
