Image of Mario and Goombario in Shroom Grocery in Toad Town, in Paper Mario.
First appearance Paper Mario (2000)
Greater location Toad Town

Shroom Grocery is located in the western part of Toad Town in Paper Mario.

Goombario's Tattle on the shop owner states, "That Toad runs this shop. He buys, sells and checks items. If you don't manage what you're carrying well, you may not be able to hold everything. Check items when you can."

When Shy Guys invade Toad Town, one of them takes over the shop and refuses to sell anything to Mario. Mario can optionally whack the Shy Guy (using jump, hammer, Kooper's or Bombette's ability) to repel him and thus allow the owner to reclaim his shop.

At the end of the game, Mario can enter Shroom Grocery, though he cannot buy anything since shop owner states the shop is closed for the festivities.

Language Name Meaning
Japanese キノキノざっか店[1]
Kinokino Zakkaten
「キノキノ」is likely from「キノコ」(kinoko, mushrooms) or「キノピオ」(Kinopio, Toad), and「ざっか店」means "grocery".
The official site for Paper Mario in Japan lists the store's name with two more kanji, as 「キノキノ雑貨店」.[2]
