Dragon info stripping
Should the paper mario content also be removed from the dragon page? -FourPaperHeroes 05:38, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. The info can go on the character articles for the PM dragons. - Walkazo 05:40, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- Should the article look like this?: -FourPaperHeroes 05:51, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- No, even less - anything connecting the otherwise unrelated dragons appearing throughout the series must go. I stripped it some more, and this is what I was left with below. I decided to split out the Donkey Kong Jungle Beat dragon as well (just assume it has its own page now), since its inclusion made things really awkward. - Walkazo 21:49, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Dragon page
- This page is about the real world dragon in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. For any other dragon in the Mario series, see Category:Dragons.
Dragons are a race of mythological reptiles from real world mythology, which have appeared as living creatures throughout the Mario franchise as both allies and enemies.
An actual dragon appeared in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, in the episode "7 Continents for 7 Koopas". After Bully Koopa painted graffiti all over the Great Wall of China, Mario appears, snatches Bully's wand, and turns the Great Wall into a dragon, which chases after Bully.
Policy
Since you went out of your way to go by policy and remove those, in your opinion, pesky sections from Daisy's page per policy, do you mind showing me where it is said in what policy that this is so? UhHuhAlrightDaisy 00:50, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Well not that I absolutely don't believe you, but unless you can give me proof some time in the near future, I'll just have to add them back until you can get it because it's your word to nothing. UhHuhAlrightDaisy 06:27, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- Walkazo - I have overheard such things regarding a missing proposal you say. Try going to my test page to find the proposal: User:RAP/test4. You must be aware that it's still quite incomplete. T_T And that I divided into sections by year so I can work on it more fluidly. --RAP... 08:22, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- Oooh, so that is where the handy-dandy list/archive is. yes, that'll make searching much easier (assuming it was a proposal, and not a conversation held elsewhere), thanks. - Walkazo 04:11, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Protect
Can you protect MarioWiki:Featured Articles/A/Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest? It is a passed FA nomination that people keep voting on. Fawfulfury65
- Done. Hopefully I did it right: I don't usually get involved with FAs, so I'm not familiar with the standard procedude ^_^; - Walkazo 14:28, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Sig Troubles
Sorry for any annoyance caused by my sig page making things go haywire. I'm really sorry. I appreciate your efforts to correct pages affected by it. I'm going to sort it out with help from Edofenrir anyway. Frostyfireyoshi (talk) 19:09, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- No problem: it was a quick fix and I had some time on my hands anyway :) - Walkazo 20:58, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
TPP Votes...
Hey Walkazo! I've been browsing through several TPPs lately and I noticed that you vote support on this one, this one and this one. I'm going to refer to all of them right now as they are all the same thing, two games which are completely different but are being classified as the same. For all of them except Memory Master both games appear in SM64DS. However, the games are not the same - as defined by that video game itself. There is a minigames page in SM64DS where each minigame has its own...button. The buttons are labeled and there is one button labeled (i.e.) Puzzle Panel and another labeled Puzzle Panic. The same applies to all of the other ones (except Memory Master). If the game itself classifies them as different, I believe that we, the encyclopedia that covers the game, should follow the suit of that which we cover, no? And for Memory Master it's mostly the same thing except that one of the games appears in the Mario Party series and the other appears in the main mario series. I hope you reconsider your votes and move them from support to oppose. Yours truly, Marioguy1 (talk)
- I don't oppose the merges, but I've decided to abstain from voting instead of supporting. - Walkazo 16:27, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Image issues
Hey Walkazo, what's your opinion on images having transparency? FD09 said it's unnecessary to add them but I think it looks good for all accounts when it comes to colored backgrounds, or making images look neat. (Check my talk page) Also, this idea came from ZeldaWiki, which I was inspired to do this. --RAP... 20:16, 28 August 2010 (UTC) He reverted my image works for Itadaki Street DS, and Mario and Sonic just to let you know.
- Sorry for not responding immediately (I've been really busy, and this required a bit more effort than I could spare over the weekend). In the past, transparent images have ended up looking crappy on my computer, with black outlines and whatnot, though the examples and the images you re-uploaded this time seemed fine. However, the coloured background argument is a little flawed in that the images could look bad without the white background (i.e. a picture of Daisy would blend in with yellow backgrounds). I also find that simplest is best in a lot of situations: cleaning up the backgrounds to get rid of noise and errant pixels is great, but making them transparent is unnecessary. - Walkazo 21:13, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Block. Not this block.
Hello. Can you please block this user named User:Mileycyrussoulja? He has over 5 warnings. you can do however long you want. GalladeBlades
- A few of those are outdated, and he needs to be given a last warning before we can block him. If he keeps breaking rules, sooner or later he will get a block, but unless he's going on a rule-breaking spree as we speak, that's not happening today. - Walkazo 22:23, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Hi there
Never knew you were a sysop. D: How are you? Also as for your Dragon Koopa link could you make it into a fakelink, thanks. Garlic Stapler
- I'm okay: hoping to get some editing in before school today. I like my broken Dragon Koopa link; until Bowser gets a proper species, I'm keeping it as a reminder of Nintendo's annoying habit of leaving things ambiguous (and because I like the glaring red writing - it's a nice change from all the blue links). - Walkazo 13:30, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Could you delete the rest of the stuff in the To be deleted category? Mileycyrussoulja 03:34, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, in a minute. - Walkazo 03:40, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Hey
Walkazo? I need a little help with my sig. I don't know any color codes so I can't make text red, green etc.. I also need an image code for Shadow Mario and Dark Boo. Here's my sig: Vinnie The Cosmic Vin (talk)
- To make coloured words that aren't links, use <font color=green>Blah</font>, which looks like: "Blah". To make coloured links, use [[User:Walkazo|<span style="color:red">Me</span>]], which looks like: "Me". I don't think it matters if the colours' names are capitalized or not. I'm not sure what you mean by needing an image code, but to include an image in your sig, just type [[Image:BowserMM294.png|35px]] which looks like: Note that 35 pixels is the maximum height you're allowed to use for images in your signature, and you're only allowed to use one image (so Shadow Mario or Dark Boo, not both); to minimize confusion, you should also use your own image marked with {{personal-file-sig}}, rather than an image being used on an article. You also need to include your name in your sig, so simply having "Hide world! I exist!" will not work. For more rules and information, see MarioWiki:Signatures and Help:Signature. - Walkazo 00:32, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Need answers... (Princess Peach article)
No offense, but there's something that I do not get about your re-reverting my edit in regards to the "History" process of the Princess Peach article? Don't the game installments take higher priority? And unless I'm seeing wrong -- you're telling me that even when I tried to "group" families of Super Mario installments (like Super Mario Galaxy series, New Super Mario Bros. installments, etc., the order of installments in which Peach made her appearances is more important regardless of the "family" of installments under the "Super Mario" category...? There's something that I'm not getting here... unless the motive is getting consistency within character articles... o_O --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! Grammar Issues
- The problem that I have is that the word "they" always seems to sound better when you're referring to two or more people. When you're just referring to one person only, using "they" just seems rather weird, since "they" sounds like a plural form word. I couldn't think of any singular form words to replace "they", so "he/she" had to do. Sorry if I caused an inconvenience with this issue. M&SG (talk) 14:18, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

If ur a sysop here do you mind putting something saying to join RareWiki because it was going to be a spinoff of this website and is totally inactive and was created by a MarioWiki member. I am asking you because the front page is protected so do you mind doing that. Oh, I almost forgot its link is rare.wikia.com. Thanks... Kaptain K. Rool
- You should actually talk to Porplemontage about this sorta thing. However, seeing as we're part of NIWA, we're not really supposed to advertise Wikia databases, so I doubt he'll say yes to what you're asking anyway. - Walkazo 16:09, 5 January 2011 (EST)
- Hmm.. OK any suggestions on how to get some people there? Liamroche 16:10, 5 January 2011 (EST)
- No idea, sorry. If your database is struggling, you might want to join a more established wiki, such as The Rare Witch Project: it'll be easier than competing with them for editors. - Walkazo 16:18, 5 January 2011 (EST)
- OK i'll try to get them :D, but thanks for your help anyway and you are always welcome to join. Kaptain K. Rool
- Good luck! - Walkazo 16:22, 5 January 2011 (EST)
- When you're done deleting those pages do you want to come join RareWiki? I have loads of cleanup needed there and if you can 50 edits, I will promote you. Also note that I have a different username there. Kaptain K. Rool
- Thanks for the invitation, but I'm afraid I'm too busy to dedicate time anywhere else but here (I also have university and volunteer work to balance with the MWiki in RL). Plus, I doubt I'd be all that useful there anyway: aside from the original Donkey Kong Country I'm not very knowledgeable about Rare games at all. - Walkazo 14:38, 21 January 2011 (EST)

This guy just got a warning for blanking the Mario article. A few minutes later, he blanked its talkpage. Should I give him another warning, or let a Sysop handle it? This Is War 14:47, 6 January 2011 (EST) PS. Sorry if I was a bit rude on the Bowser's Castle proposal; as I said, I was off my head and got it completely wrong in my logic. x_X
- Okay, Phoenix Rider took care of it. This Is War 15:19, 6 January 2011 (EST)
- Yeah, with my usual bad timing, I hopped off the wiki and didn't get you message until a couple minutes ago >_> Anyway, thanks for being so diligent; it was a good idea telling an admin, since people blanking pages often need to be blocked in the end. - Walkazo 15:22, 6 January 2011 (EST)

- Well, you've been doing a good job so far with your category and template work, so if you stick around and keep editing, and add projects that involve more writing (rather than just clean-up), you could very well get a promotion, although it could take months or even years. - Walkazo 21:34, 23 January 2011 (EST)

- About a year and a half. I know some people who were promoted in a matter of months, but I know other users who haven't ever been promoted over the years, for one reason or another. Aspiring to become a Sysop is fine, but don't make it some goal that you work towards, because that'll only leave you frustrated, and it could easily backfire since we'd rather have someone who edits all the time because they want to, not because they want to be an admin. - Walkazo 21:45, 23 January 2011 (EST)
- Years? Boy I have to work on this more... Also has it taken you years to become one? Kaptain K. Rool
- Well, you've been doing a good job so far with your category and template work, so if you stick around and keep editing, and add projects that involve more writing (rather than just clean-up), you could very well get a promotion, although it could take months or even years. - Walkazo 21:34, 23 January 2011 (EST)
- You're welcome. Also do you think that I am going to be a sysop on this wiki some day because I am aiming to become one by helping out. Kaptain K. Rool
- Done. Thanks for being diligent about updating the links and getting rid of the outdated templates! - Walkazo 19:37, 23 January 2011 (EST)
I have been bored on RareWiki a lot lately, due to the lowness on contributors and edits and I am moving here for a bit because I am exceedingly bored there without contributors, except for the fact that SWFlash is there to help out a bit and I almost fall asleep when on wikia because I am really bored there. Also do you play the Mario & Luigi series? and I got a friend userbox for you here:

- Yeah, dead wikis are boring (unless you're a troll and can mess them up without anyone being around to revert your edits). I used to play M&L games, but these days I'm usually too busy editing the wiki (ironically), or going to school or volunteering. Thanks, but I don't use those types of userboxes: I stick to the bare minimum. - Walkazo 22:47, 23 January 2011 (EST)
- Yeah, if vandals would just come to RareWiki then I would have something to do there and block them and delete pages and it would also be fun if lots more MarioWiki member could come along and go there so then I can fix some mistakes and I am trying my best to get contributors there so yeah it is boring there and it would be more fun if you could help me cleanup there, but its ok. Kaptain K. Rool
- Starting up new databases is hard: I certainly don't have the patience for it. - Walkazo 22:55, 23 January 2011 (EST)
- I am better than you at it and what m & L games did you play? I played all three of them and I have all three of them Kaptain K. Rool
- The first two, and I have the third started: my bro and I will finish playing it later this year once I finish my current fanficiton (it's a long story). - Walkazo 23:04, 23 January 2011 (EST)
- Does your bro have a username on this wiki somewhere? If he does then where does his username link and/or what is it? Also what DK games do you play? (if you do.) Kaptain K. Rool
- It's on my userpage, but he left the wiki a while ago. I love Donkey Kong Country, and while I have the two sequels and DKL, I haven't played any of them in years. - Walkazo 23:18, 23 January 2011 (EST)
- This must be noted that you've been busy on MarioWiki for years and have you lost any of your games? I lost New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, and Super Mario Advance 2 >:( I am angry for losing themm but I don't lose 'em anymore because I am on watch on my games and I was less mature then so that is why. Kaptain K. Rool
- I've never lost a game. - Walkazo 00:04, 24 January 2011 (EST)
- Sorry for being gone for a while it is just that I had to leave and I have been waiting too long. Anyway are you really a female? I thought you were a boy. Kaptain K. Rool
- Oh, if I had a nickle every time someone thought I was a boy... (In other words, yes, I'm a girl.) - Walkazo 11:45, 24 January 2011 (EST)

- DK as in the ape, the series or the original arcade game? - Walkazo 11:52, 24 January 2011 (EST)
- Oh, if I had a nickle every time someone thought I was a boy... (In other words, yes, I'm a girl.) - Walkazo 11:45, 24 January 2011 (EST)
- Either one. Also do you think I am spamming your talk page so much or do you think I should start a new section here? Also instead of getting a nickel on people mistaking your gender how about 100 dollars instead? Kaptain K. Rool
- Sorry for being gone for a while it is just that I had to leave and I have been waiting too long. Anyway are you really a female? I thought you were a boy. Kaptain K. Rool
- I'm a fan of all things Mario, so I like the DK games, including the original arcade. The character's okay too (as is the original DK, Cranky Kong - funny guy). Getting lots of $100 sums would be nice, but I said "nickle" because that's the expression. Don't bother with a new section: one conversation, one header. Chatting does sorta slow down my maintenance work, I'm afraid, but I'm leaving now anyway: I forgot I had something to do this afternoon before I go to my class. Ciao for now. - Walkazo 12:08, 24 January 2011 (EST)

Hi Walkazo what is your favorite game. Kaptain K. Rool
- No offence, but I'm really not in the mood to chat tonight: I'm just here to work. But I will answer your question: SMW or SMB Deluxe, and SPM is my favorite RPG. - Walkazo 22:48, 24 January 2011 (EST)
Ohhhhhh
Oh, now i understand why you were keeping the Super Mario Bros. and Mario 3D platformers together. Sorry for being so annoying. :(

When I tried to revert File:BrawlHo-oh.jpg back to the original, it just became a bigger version of the second one. I tried again, and then the same thing happened, but the thumbnails in the file history showed that it WAS the original when it was a bigger version of the second one. What happened? Mario JC
- It is reverted back to the original as the thumbnails say it is. The same thing's happened to me when I re-uploaded images here in the past: it's confusing, and I'm not sure why it happens (perhaps it has to do with the browser's cache?), but it's nothing to worry about: just go by the thumbnails. - Walkazo 22:10, 30 January 2011 (EST)
Podoboo
Hello User:Walkazo, I am FourPaperHeroes, I was hoping to ask you about two articles (Lava Bubble and Sparky), both articles have the same japanese names as Podoboos and both at one point have displayed the same attack pattern as Podoboo, so what would I have to do to request a merger proposal? Is there a certain article I must submit the request to or is the talk page enough? -FourPaperHeroes 23:17, 31 January 2011 (EST)
- Thank you, and yes I do want to merge both with Podoboo. -FourPaperHeroes 23:33, 31 January 2011 (EST)

Un-delete some redirects?
'Ello. May I ask for you to restore some of the redirects you have recently deleted? Most of the redirects that you have deleted are definitely bad redirects, but there are a few that I think definitely should exist, because I would consider them to be reasonable, common errors:
- Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games - asking readers to learn the proper name is kind of silly in this case, especially since the only difference is just the switching of two words. If a reader doesn't know the proper name, then they'll obviously search for it to find out, and searching for "Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games" is a likely outcome. It is also a pretty ambiguous name, since the term "Winter Olympic Games" is a very common alternative to "Olympic Winter Games".
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympics - not the exact name, as you stated when you deleted it, but I think that it should be restored for the same reason as the previous one. It is a very reasonable search, lacking only the word "Games" from the end of it.
- Balloon Yoshi - in my opinion, this would be the second best thing to search for if someone doesn't know the official name of Blimp Yoshi. I'd consider it a valid alternative nickname.
Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:02, 11 February 2011 (EST)
- The thing is, if you start typing "Mario & Sonic", the wiki automatically gives you a bunch of suggestions, so someone has no excuse to get it wrong, really: the correct name will be staring them in the face. And on the flip side, having those redirects will actually make the incorrect name pop up in addition to the right one, which is counter-productive. The less redirects, the better.
- As for the Yoshi one, is he actually called "Balloon Yoshi" in an official English source? Because otherwise, it's not really a valid nickname (unlike the policy page's example "Weegie", which is used in a couple games). As for the "next best thing they'd search for" argument, we can't afford to make redirects like that, or it could spiral out of hand. Finding something if you don't know its name isn't too hard, anyway (for example, I had no idea what the killer ducks in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! were, so I looked up the Peach Beach article and voilà, "Cataquacks"). - Walkazo 23:27, 11 February 2011 (EST)
- Ah, I never took into account the drop down suggestions. In that case, I agree with you, especially due to the incorrect names appearing in the box.
- As for official naming, I don't think Nintendo has ever referred to Blimp Yoshi as Balloon Yoshi in English (in Japanese, however, I am almost certain that Nintendo calls Blimp Yoshi "Balloon Yoshi" - but of course, Japanese isn't English). I have only seen the term Balloon Yoshi used interchangeably with Blimp Yoshi in normal communication on various forums and the likes. Still, I do think "Balloon Yoshi" is worth an exception, simply because it's easily mistakable and interchangeable, at least compared to other terms. I'll let you decide, though. It's not a big deal anyway.
- Thanks for the explanation. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 00:15, 12 February 2011 (EST)
- "Balloon Yoshi" probably pops up a lot because it was only known by that name for a while, like how a lot of the Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story enemies were only known by their Japanese name for months. But since we now have the official English names, we were able to phase out the Japanese ones, and same goes for "Balloon Yoshi". We did make an exception for the Japanese name of the game itself, but it's a major, popular title (and we only included the full names, not all the "M&LRPG3!!!"-type abbreviations and whatnot). Perhaps Balloon Yoshi deserves to be another exception, but there's always a chance that someone will get the wrong idea and try to remake the "Light Yoshi" redirect too, etc. It's a tough call... I'm still leaning towards not making the redirect, but if I change my mind, I'll let you know. And if another user remakes it, I probably won't bother deleting it again. - Walkazo 00:47, 12 February 2011 (EST)
Reminder (not the template)
Taken from your article of the Moon
In Super Mario Galaxy, six "moons" are shown orbiting the Mushroom World. There are two green moons, a brown moon with holes through it (possibly where the Spin-Dig Galaxy is located), a small white moon (also seen on the World 1 map), a small green moon and a small dark red moon. Many more moons appear in the World 2 map, there's one in Boo Moon Galaxy and the boss Kamella comes from the moon on the Deep Dark Galaxy the second time she is fought.
A lot of the article is talking about the sequel, not the first. Just giving you the info.
User:DK and Diddy Kong vs Bowser and Bowser Jr. 17:20, 15 February 2011 (EST)
- I didn't actually write that stuff about the moon: I was moving it from the Trivia and made a typo by accidentally removing the "2" when making the game's name into a link. Thanks for fixing the article, but you didn't need to come and tell me directly. - Walkazo 10:13, 17 February 2011 (EST)
Just Stopping By
Hey, Walkazo. I wanted to say "Hi" and I will want to tell you about how much contributing I did to the wiki.
- I added a list of puns to some of the Mario Party series pages.
- I removed the trivia sections (Since they're not needed).
- I have added missing info.
- Some of the pages have incorrect grammar and I fixed it.
- Some pages had typos and I fixed it.
This is about much contributing I did to the wiki. If you think I didn't, click on my other portion for evidence. Chris Helper Got something to say? Put it on my talk page! See how much editing I did to the wiki. 19:42, 17 February 2011 (EST)
- It's nice to see you still contributing. - Walkazo 23:29, 17 February 2011 (EST)
- It IS still good to contribute, considering the fact that I had to discipline a user about unconstructive edits. Chris Helper Got something to say? Put it on my talk page! See how much editing I did to the wiki. 00:58, 18 February 2011 (EST)
- You have to be careful about disciplining people: the user didn't mean any harm and your "warning" was unnecessary. I suggest you remove the image and the part about how they "will be blocked". Also, in the future, remember to use our actual notice templates when you warn or remind people, although sometimes it's best to simply tell an admin when you see questionable behavior and let them take the necessary disciplinary actions. - Walkazo 01:06, 18 February 2011 (EST)

Old Kamek
This really doesn't have anything to do with anything here, but judging by some of your fanfiction stuff, you don't seem to have a high opinion or Kamek, either. MPENG · Talk
- On the contrary, Kamek is one of my favourite characters: he's complex (in my stories, at least - speaking of which, I'm always pleasantly surprised when users say they read my stuff, so thanks!). - Walkazo 19:53, 18 February 2011 (EST)
- I seem to remember Kamek turning on Bowser/being beaten up quite a few times in those stories. I've never played a game where he makes a real appearance, but is he usually so spiteful of Bowser?
MPENG · Talk
- In Mario Party Advance he resents Bowser taking the title of "Game King" instead of earning it, but he forgives him in the end, and all other appearances show him being a loyal and devoted minion. He also seemed like a good caregiver in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. My not-so-nice depiction of him is pretty original, and is based on a lot of backstory I made up between him and Bowser's dead father. Also, I have a habit of giving my favourite characters a hard time in the fiction (i.e. getting beaten up, etc.): drama fleshes people out. - Walkazo 20:42, 18 February 2011 (EST)

- You mean about using colons instead of dashes for indenting comments? No problem, and thanks for listening! I'm a perfectionist too, and I couldn't bear to not say anything about the use of bullets instead of the proper colon indents on the Ridley talk page: it just looks messy, and some pages specifically request that colons be used, so it's best to try and keep other talk pages consistent with them. - Walkazo 15:43, 23 February 2011 (EST)
