Mario Party: The Top 100:

Manic Mallets is a 2-vs.-2 minigame in Mario Party 5 and Mario Party: The Top 100.

Introduction[edit]

Both teams hit their switches once. A giant green hammer then rises out of the sand behind them.

Gameplay[edit]

In this minigame, players must avoid being crushed by a giant green hammer by hitting a small switch as fast as possible with a smaller hammer. The giant hammer rises from the ground at the beginning of the minigame, where it shows all players pushing the switches. The giant hammer starts rotating toward the losing team. Whichever team pushes the switches more times in ten seconds is the winning team. If both teams hit the switches the same number of times, the minigame ends in a draw. Both teams win if this happens in Mario Party: The Top 100.[1]

The background of the minigame shows several other giant hammers of different colors in a field, with a blue sky and sun. There are also several clouds floating in the sky. The players and the giant hammer are on sand, however, and the giant hammer appears to be made of stone.

Ending[edit]

Two Lakitus appear on the screen and display the number of hits each team made. The giant mallet then falls over and crushes the losing team, with the losing team also floating off flattened in The Top 100. If the minigame ends in a draw, the mallet turns sideways and crushes both teams.
