Grindels are present as Mario, Peach, Wario and Yoshi battle in Lava Tile Isle.

Grindel are stone enemies in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. They are mummified Thwomps, but have a different eyes and mouths. They try to smash Mario in the pyramid of Shifting Sand Land.

Grindels also appear in Mario Party 2, in Lava Tile Isle. Contestants push and fight while the Grindels move, trying to push characters into the lava.

A similar creature is the Spindel.
