The Gunner Guy is a military Snifit unique to the Koopa Troop. They are used to guard important locations, such as Bowser's Castle. Gunner Guys appear only in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Because of its very long snout, which serves as a gun, a Gunner Guy can hardly move by itself, requiring a Shy Guy clad in army camouflage to help him during battle. The Shy Guy will push the Gunner Guy up to its target before firing, giving the Mario Bros. less time to react. If the Shy Guy simply pushes the Gunner Guy, the latter will fire a cannonball, which will fall onto the ground and roll very slowly. If the Shy Guy hops before the attack, the Gunner Guy will fire a quick projectile that will fly toward the player. Both attacks can be dodged by jumping. These enemies are healed by fire, but are weak to thunder.

Variant of Snifit

The Gunner Guy is a type of army-camouflaged Snifit that appears in Bowser's Castle in the game Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Because of its very long snout, which serves as a gun, it can hardly move by itself; as a result, an army-camouflaged Shy Guy needs to help it during battle. In the field, Gunner Guys sit around in their spot, firing projectiles from their guns; contact with a projectile will start combat with the Gunner Guy who launched it, regardless the Gunner Guy's actual location.

A Gunner Guy being assisted by a Shy Guy

The Shy Guy will push the Gunner Guy up to its target before firing. If the Shy Guy simply pushes the Gunner Guy, the latter will fire a cannonball, which will fall onto the ground and roll very slowly towards the designated brother. If the Shy Guy hops before the attack, the Gunner Guy will fire a quick projectile that will fly straight at its target. Both attacks can be dodged by jumping. These enemies are healed by fire, but are weak to thunder.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, both of their outfits are redesigned to look like those of normal Shy Guys and Snifits.
