Sorry about that... It is the first page I made and I did my best I am sorry... {{User:HEROMARIO/sig}} 09:02, April 17, 2019 (EDT)

I did see that note.  perhaps should've made discussion before adding it. on one hand I understand since it just says what buttons to press, but on the other hand a game mentioning a cheat code is also a bit more complicated then just listing controls as of all the other instances (not to mention being hidden and games rarely mention secret codes like that ingame) then theres the instance of the code in Bowser's Inside Story, which is also on the page. True they do mention hearing the 'buttons' being pressed, but it's still essentialy passing secret info meant for the player, and again a bit more special then the usual "press 'this button' to do 'this'.[[User:Pikmin theories|Pikmin theories]] ([[User talk:Pikmin theories|talk]]) 22:15, November 10, 2023 (EST)

===Kloak and Kackle===
In your point of view, Kloak and Kackle were old pirate Kremlings before Kremling Krew? Here many profiles.

'''UPD''' See a [[:File:NSMBWIIU 00 map.png|modified version of the map]], only base scheme without unnecessary elements. May be separate the worlds by lineas?

[[User:ChristopherPAraujo|ChristopherPAraujo]] [[User talk:ChristopherPAraujo|(talk)]] 21:09, November 11, 2023 (EST)

Hi, what's your opinion on whether or not SSBU's Giant DK in Jigglypuff's route and Metal Mario in Bowser's route should be classified as bosses? I think they should by virtue of being specifically-tough final opponents (ie the definition of a boss), but {{user|Owencrazyboy9}} keeps saying that "it's just a permanent Super Mushroom/Metal Box" and reverts, and doesn't seem to keen on answering arguments about it made on his talk page. Why yes, I can. It's called super Mario kart dokidoki race and it's on the banpresto forum board in a collection of forum posts to preserve obscure Mario arcade games and it's called arcade coverage super Mario boards the Mario forum. The game was a Japanese exclusive in 1994. There are forum boards by the same people for machines made by other companies; konami, fabtek and sunwise. == RPG lists question. ==

Should we make a list of games in alphabetical order? [[User:Lord Falafel|Lord Falafel]] ([[User talk:Lord Falafel|talk]]) 13:52, June 15, 2019 (EDT)
So, I'm back, again. New RPG, new list to create. Anyways, I'll stick to the point: Since the page for ? Blocks in Origami King is so thorough and includes EVERY SINGLE ONE, I thought: Why some pages should have only hidden blocks and this one has all. I am aware that TOK as ingame counter for them, but so does the 3DS Mario and Luigi titles and only SS has the page for the hidden ones. So, I propose these two scenarios:

== Alphabetical error ==
Add non-hidden ? Blocks to the respective pages and then rename the pages and create the pages for the games that does not have them, such as PIT. And do it for every single RPG.

Super Mario bros by Orpheus software and super Mario bros by firebird aren't in alphabetical order [[User:Lord Falafel|Lord Falafel]] ([[User talk:Lord Falafel|talk]]) 01:32, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
OR

== [[Special:Diff/2691281]] ==
Same as above but only in the games that have the ? Block counter in them, such as 3DS ML games mentioned above.

Actually, it's because there are enemies called as such, and i'm aware that they're not the same enemy as the Yoshi's Story ones, the name i gave to them was not because they roll, but just because they have spikes. --{{User:FanOfYoshi/sig}} 05:58, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
I really think this would be a good idea, but I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this. Even if you think I should not do it, tell me, so I won't ask in the future again.

== Silvers voice. ==
Hi. So. I just finished original Bowser's Inside Story and there are quite a lot of types of blocks, namely ? Block, Attack Piece Block, Brick Block, Special ? Block, Rally Block, Empty Block,  M-Block, L-Block, Body Slam Panel, Puzzle Sack Block and ! Block., so I kind of have series of questions:
So they did? Let me guess, Mario and Sonic series right?. {{unsigned|Sonicgalaxy27}}
*Special ? Block - 2 in Pump Works and 1 in Energy Hold, these ? Blocks when struck create a collumn of 5 M/L Blocks in a pattern, which then must be repeated by striking subsequent 5 ? Blocks. Since they are different from normal ? Blocks, I would like to know if we have page for this type of block so I can use it when making the list? I vaguely remember it reappearing in Paper Jam, with P Blocks added to the mix.
*M/L/! Blocks - 1 M in Energy Hold, 2 L in Pump Works and Energy Hold, ! in Plack Beach Cliff. I grouped them together since they serve the same purpose. When struck, they turn on the coins around them. Should I include them in the list even though they're technically switches? But then these four are the only "switches" that give you a reward, like a ? Block. So you can see the dilemma here.
*Body Slam Panel - In Blubble Lake, Bowser Path and Peach's Castle. They also give out rewards when struck, just like ? Blocks But due to their low number, which would be better: Include them in the list or make a section in the Body Slam page?
*Empty Block - Ten in Toad Town Mall. Only in the Mushroom Ball sidequest. Add to the list and to the Mushroom Ball page or just the MB page? I know there already are some images, but I will include new ones in preparation for when I'll play the remake. (requested by Swallow)
*Puzzle Sack Block - Same as MB - On the list and page or just the page? Here I would only edit the existing images and also to prepare it for the remake.
*As for the rest, they will be added by default, so no questions for them.
Thank you for the upcoming answers, I will start with the list tommorow with your instructions. --[[User:Mid188|Mid188]] ([[User talk:Mid188|talk]]) 09:38, January 25, 2024 (EST)

Hi, so after little setback I started playing Sticker Star and I have a question: Since Sticker Star is the only two-screen game without any sort of minimap, should I just screenshot the non-album screen or should I keep doing it normally (two screens next to each other, like literally every other page with NDS/3DS games)? Also, there is a type of block called Paperization Block (block which appears after using Paperize and placing a sticker). Should I include them in the ? Block page or Hidden Block page?--[[User:Mid188|Mid188]] ([[User talk:Mid188|talk]]) 15:34, February 3, 2024 (EST)

Hi, I have a question: You know how List of ? Blocks in Paper Mario: The Origami King includes both visible and hidden blocks, right? Probably because it has a semi-block counter (the % one). I've wondered, should I combine the page I'm working on right now (List of blocks in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions) with the one for the hidden blocks from the same game (List of hidden blocks in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions
)? I thought about it because these two games are the only ones that take the hidden blocks into account while counting the blocks in their in-game counters, unlike Paper Jam and Bowser's Inside Story remake (due to having none or very little hidden blocks). I would mark the hidden ones with the icon in the form of the Secret Specs sprite. So, what do you think? Is it a good idea or should I just finish the page and leave the other be? --[[User:Mid188|Mid188]] ([[User talk:Mid188|talk]]) 14:40, May 29, 2024 (EDT)

:Imo, creating a redirect to that page on [[List of treasure boxes in Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch)]] would be sufficient. Contrary to the bestiary and other stuff in the PMTTYD remake, this one has same locations for everything, barring some content of chests changing. Makes sense to me to keep it to one page. Heck it'd be interesting to do pictures of switch ones for TTYD too like that but that'd take a whole new playthrough [[User:LetsPlayNintendoITA|<span style="color:green">LetsPlay</span><span style="color:silver">Nintendo</span><span style="color:red">ITA</span>]] 10:00, June 30, 2024 (EDT)

== Happy 4th of July! ==
Well, I have finished with remake of PMTTYD and already uploaded images for Treasure/Black Chests. I will do rest over the course of this week, but I have a question: The area east of the Petalburg is named Petal Meadows in the original but Path to Shhwonk Fortress and Shhwonk Fortress in the remake. But only the first screen is considered PtSF and the rest as SF (on the map and when UI appears). But Goombella's area Tattle considers all screens before the screen after the Thwomp as PtSF. My question is: When I will add remake info and images to the pages, should I go by map/UI or Goombella's area tattle? I ask since on the PtSF page in goes by the Tattles, not map/UI and I do not know why, but if feels wrong to me. --[[User:Mid188|Mid188]] ([[User talk:Mid188|talk]]) 17:32, July 21, 2024 (EDT)

Hi. I thought about something. So, I guarantee all the stuff I currently have in my phone and not on the wiki is legitimate. Do you think we need to make a page that is not a gallery or a category page and archives information that we don't have on this site yet and once it's found on Google images or a website or YouTube or another video site, then we can finally get it all on the wiki and upload sources on non gallery pages and both photos and sources on galleries? The page would have merchandise, videos, games, facts and more. Do you think we should do this? Cuz I can't leave it sitting on the internet. We need to cover it all. I do agree that there's been a lack of communication with the changes I'm making to articles. I think I just assumed proposals are mostly for deciding whether to create or delete stuff on the wiki. On sidenote, I think disagreements on articles (mainly if they're not part of a "set" like Mario Kart courses, Super Mario levels) are too vague and lack substance to form a proposal out of.

Actually, see the Cheep Chomp, which has two separate images. One is with a background, and the other isn't (for the background one, see the Boss Bass talk page). --{{User:FanOfYoshi/sig}} 10:44, July 19, 2019 (EDT)
As for the tabber template, both cases approved by the system are comparing screenshots each showing a different iterations of something between appearances. I'm not the only one who has been doing this: if you also take a look at the Mario 64 courses, I didn't add tabber to those. The Mario Party and Mario Kart set a precedent for similar cases: if Mario party minigames can use tabber, why not WarioWare microgames too? those are minigames that have returned in later WarioWare games in very similar manner to Mario Party minigames. From what I've heard, there's a solution in place for if JavaScript doesn't work, though over time, I've both felt and realized that such circumstances would call for captioning the images to preserve the context of the images.
:Yes, and in that case, I uploaded separately because one had the Japanese name of the enemy which was needed for said talk page. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 12:22, July 19, 2019 (EDT)
::Those can just be found on the [[:File:SMAGPB6_Underwater.png|full]] [[:File:SMAGPB6 Map.png|images]] they came from. Cropping and uploading them separately solely for use on a talk page seems unnecessary. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 06:46, July 20, 2019 (EDT)
:::Also, i meant it to show the Japanese name, which is both written in Hiragana and Katakana, which is why it'd be best to leave it with the background.. --{{User:FanOfYoshi/sig}} 08:18, July 20, 2019 (EDT)
::::The focus of the image is the enemy itself; the Japanese name is an unnecessary detail, having two images simply with that difference even more so. As I said, you can find them in the full image linked on the file page, as well as under "Names in other languages". {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 08:25, July 20, 2019 (EDT)
:::::Thing is, though, having the name associated with the picture ''in plain sight'' is much better due to the image being used on such a ''contentious'' discussion, which is ''precisely'' why I uploaded it separately in the first place. == Smart Bomb ==
For show/hide, I personally love clicking between tabs and collapsible content, especially if it's collapsing an element than might clash with prose (e.g. bloated wikitables or galleries). I'm also not the only person to have been doing this, as I saw someone add to a section on the [[e-Reader]] article, which has a bloated wikitable.

Pretty sure [[Smart Bomb (Nintendo Comics System)|this]] takes priority over the [[Smart Bomb|current identifier-less subject]], but I want to check with you to be certain. {{User:Toadette the Achiever/sig}} 14:17, July 19, 2019 (EDT)
The Luigi's Mansion room pages have this one 3DS image on the side that squishes the opening text, making it harder to read, which is why I added tabber on the Luigi's Mansion room pages. I try to reduce redundant headings, which can include a gallery section if it has only one image, or sections with only one or two sentences.

== Springboard vs. Trampoline ==
For [[Cranky's Lab]], other articles don't have a "Potions" heading, so I tried imagining a way to make it look consistent with other shop pages. Perhaps Inventory is an ideal heading for shop locations.

Hi, is it okay with you if I move [[Springboard]] to [[Trampoline]]? I'm just asking because the name "Springboard" only seems to come from three different sources, all guides, whereas the "Trampoline" name has been more frequently used in-game and is in fact the most recent name. {{User:Toadette the Achiever/sig}} 11:44, July 23, 2019 (EDT)
Lastly, even in wake of the disagreements, others did agree to me turning the enemy/item count on the level pages into gallery form, and that's the only change I made to some of the Super Mario level pages. == A quick question ==
It is possible to defeat the same Lakitu twice in [https://www.mariowiki.com/World_8-2_(Super_Mario_Bros.)#Level_maps Super Mario Bros. World 8-2]. The first Lakitu begins its retreat near a bunch of brick blocks high in the air, which are hiding a secret One-Up. If you cross this threshold, the Lakitu begins its retreat like normal. If you platform on top of these bricks, you can defeat the Lakitu easily. But, if you move Mario past the threshold, the Lakitu wakes back to life on a lower yPosition, and retreats like nothing happened. A [https://www.mariowiki.com/List_of_Super_Mario_Bros._glitches#Disappearing_Power-Ups notable glitch] in Super Mario Bros. is that two items cannot be rendered at the same time on the screen.

I'd swear another anonymous editor was making those same kind of edits... --{{User:Lord Grammaticus/sig}} 08:49, August 1, 2019 (EDT)
An implication of this is that the Beanstalk / Vine also needs to be included as one of the [https://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_Bros.#Items Items] in the Super Mario Bros. article.

== Re: Rortress ==
This is because the game considers Beanstalks to be an item.

Got it! --{{User:FanOfYoshi/sig}} 08:13, August 3, 2019 (EDT)
I will prove this to you by showing that a vine cannot be rendered at the same time as an item. It is easy to make an item disappear because of a vine. But can you make a vine disappear because of an item?

== Re:Taskmaster ==
In [https://www.mariowiki.com/World_3-1_(Super_Mario_Bros.:_The_Lost_Levels)#Level_map Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels World 3-1], you can do just that! Consider the close proximity of the vine block and mushroom block. [https://jmp.sh/s/J8A6SN8OwmN3bfoZAkcN Here's a gif] but you can also try it out for yourself. First hit the beanstalk box, then hit the mushroom box. The beanstalk will disappear because the game treats it like an item. Hopefully this is proof enough that Beanstalks should be considered an item along with the rest. (If it's not enough evidence, then this needs to be added as a completely new glitch in Super Mario Bros.)

A small disclaimer: I found both of these bugs on the Nintendo Switch emulation of the games. I am confident they appear on the regular NES and Arcade versions of Super Mario Bros. but it would need to be double checked obviously.

I am fascinated with glitches, and I hope these can be added to the notoriously short [https://www.mariowiki.com/List_of_Super_Mario_Bros._glitches List of Super Mario Bros. glitches]. Thank you!

I actually did revise it before posting; the first question that came to my mind was actually a ''lot'' more aggressive, but I toned it back immensely simply because of that. As such, what I ended up putting didn't seem very bad, if only by comparison. Skewed my perception a bi. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 04:57, August 4, 2019 (EDT)
One last note, does the list of glitches contain the one where you fall directly on top of a vine or the flagpole? For some reason I can't find it in the list, I thought that was a rather popular one.

== 2 questions ==
== An uncovered collective name ==

So I have been adding pictures to the list of Pi'illos, but I decided that some of them need to be redone. So I uploaded new versions, but they aren't showing to me. Any idea why?
The cards needed to play minigames at the [[Pianta Parlor]] in ''[[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door]]'' — the [[Special Card]], the [[Silver Card]], the [[Gold Card]], and the [[Platinum Card]] — are collectively called Member's Cards. The name appears four times in the game:
The second question is related to the first could you maybe delete some of them so the final files that I will add later doesn't look so messy? Files to delete would be: M&LDT Pi'illo Castle Pi'illo 3, M&LDT Mushrise Park Pi'illo 1, M&LDT Dozing Sands Pi'illo 2, M&LDT Wakeport Pi'illo 1, M&LDT Mount Pajamaja Pi'illo 1, M&LDT Mount Pajamaja Pi'illo 2, M&LDT Mount Pajamaja Pi'illo 3 (I also made a duplicate file named M&LDT Mount Pajamaja Pi'illo 3 NEW, so that can be deleted too). I would then add better pictures myself. That's all. I just want that page to by as clean as possible. Thanks in advance. * An unnamed [[Goomba]] in Pianta Parlor: "''Whuzzat, now? You wanna know how to get a <u>Member's Card</u>, do ya?''"
* [[Wonky]]: "''If you want to try it, you'll have to find a <u>Member's Card</u> somewhere...''"

==Uploading files==
What should we do?
Could you help [[User:SuperMarioKid|me]] upload a file? I was trying to upload one, but the effects didn't even work.
* Do not cover the name.
{{unsigned|SuperMarioKid}}
* Create a page for the name, using the singular form. This would make the page hard to categorize. For example, if we put it in [[:Category:Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door special items]], it would appear to be another special item rather than a collective name.
* Create a page for the name, using the plural form. This doesn't seem to be wiki practice, and the plural form is unattested in the game.
* Redirect the name to [[Pianta Parlor]]. Seems to be a good idea, but this would make [[Pianta Parlor]] a two-subject page, possibly with two bolded names in the introductory part.

====Wario Land 2====
The inconsistency in their names is due to historical reasons. These pages were really about characters not covered on the wiki, which, due to [[SMW:NPC]], are the ''minor'' (unimportant to storyline), ''unnamed'' NPCs. I initially went with "List of Minor NPCs …" because it was the only capitalized term at the time, which means I had to mention the minor-but-named characters, duplicating info available elsewhere on the wiki. I didn't use it for ''Super Paper Mario'' because the number of minor-but-named characters far outweighs the minor-but-unnamed ones in that game. Since the term was later [https://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?diff=3833486 decapitalized], would it be a good idea to change all three pages to "unnamed NPCs", for consistency? --[[User:Dine2017|Dine2017]] ([[User talk:Dine2017|talk]]) 22:03, February 5, 2024 (EST)

Hi! I have a small question about signatures. In [[MarioWiki:Signatures]], one of the rules states that "Some users also change their sigs during certain holidays. Though allowed, these sigs must also conform to all previous rules, and it is suggested to only do this a couple of times a year at most." However, I can't help but notice that a lot of users have multiple signatures that are used throughout the year, which technically breaks this rule. I was wondering what this rule's logistics are; is it just a suggestion, a hard rule, or something in between? If some readers don't want to count obscure games, then I'll just have to ask Steve if he can reprogram this wiki to block those people from accessing the wiki. Because this is now a dedicated website that human beings helped grow, archiving obscure and popular content and facts alike and I'm not going to have people overlook obscure content just because they're unfamiliar with it. I joined this site for 2 reasons: to archive and popularize obscure and missing content. And I'm gonna do everything it takes to make sure nothing can ever become obscure again, even if it means asking Steve to protect the Mario franchise from overlookers. Please don't block me again. It's not fun. I just wanted my voice to be heard. [[User:Lord Falafel|Lord Falafel]] ([[User talk:Lord Falafel|talk]]) 22:25, August 22, 2019 (EDT)

But that maybe is a relic from the merge?
::Now, I don't really know if it is my place to say this, but I ''highly'' doubt that Steve is going to do anything regarding blocks like that. '''That's not how we do it here.''' My original edit simply stated that while the SMB1 Sky theme "came from Brawl," it actually predates Brawl quite a bit.  Now that I've provided you with more than enough proof on this, I'm going to go back and reinstate my original edit as I find it entirely appropriate, and would appreciate if you don't remove it this time.
Hi, in the "Package deals" section of [[MarioWiki:Coverage]], would you mind moving the bullet point on ''Saturday Supercade'' to the top of the list? == Redirects ==

== Editor icons ==
I'm questioning about our current practice of piping links to avoid redirects. Someone asked exactly why we do this, and I thought about reasons but they didn't really connect well. [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Redirect#Do_not_%22fix%22_links_to_redirects_that_are_not_broken Wikipedia has a rundown] on why linking to redirects on articles is actually good practice (and probably better than piping), and the reasons here seem solid. I know we're not Wikipedia, but it's hard to argue against the reasoning itself. {{User:Mario/sig}} 20:46, May 22, 2024 (EDT)

I replaced your screenshot [[:File:SMM2 Ground SMW icon.png|here]] with a game rip. I know that this is the right sprite because of the file I got it from, and the other sprites in the same file. I do think we should replace these images with sprites instead of YouTube screenshots. {{User:Scrooge200/sig}} 12:31, September 9, 2019 (EDT)
:I mean, the same thing about there being "nothing wrong with it" can be said about actively fixing links to redirects too. And it's unlikely there'll be a ''Mario''-centric subject named "Sonic" that's just as let alone more prominent than Sonic the Hedgehog that will take over that article title (going by that first "reason not to bypass"), and we use piped links for a lot of text already where it's necessary (second reason). I assume Porple had a reason for [[Special:Diff/1266580|establishing the rule]] (I always assumed it was a technical reason) so maybe ask him. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 11:23, May 25, 2024 (EDT)
:Then why did you say you got it from YouTube? And if you did get it as a direct capture from the Switch, shouldn't these images be .jpgs? We can resize the images, like we already do right now. When we have all of them as sprites, it'll look better. And all of them do have transparency space in the files, so I could just leave them uncropped. {{User:Scrooge200/sig}} 22:03, September 9, 2019 (EDT)
::But the point of these sprites is that they do fit in a box. The Wiggler is just the head, the Banzai Bill and Skewer are cropped, etc. It'd not be changing the image itself, it'd be getting a higher quality version. {{User:Scrooge200/sig}} 22:34, September 9, 2019 (EDT)

== Permision to add 2 pages + A question ==
Hello Mario jc. Greenpianta was created with my school Gmail, which has since been terminated. My school Gmail was terminated after graduation, so I am not able to access anything that was associated with it before. When making Greenpianta I made the error of not making a new email. So, Unito Junito is a second account, but also effectively my only account. {{unsigned|Unito Junito}}

So I recently completed the item lists for Dream Team and Paper Jam and I was wondering, can I do the same for the remake of the Superstar Saga, since lot of it is same from the original game? Well some of it is different like the number of beans in the Teehee Valley, Beanbean Fields+Airport and Chateau le Chucklehuck+Chuklehuck Woods.
== Successful return ==

I also will do the beanholes from the remake for Bowser's Inside Story since there's no reason NOT to do it since the number and the types of beans are different (to resemble later titles).
Sorry about earlier. I managed to log back into Greenpianta with my new email. Unito Junito will not be used again. Thank you. [[User:Greenpianta|Greenpianta]] ([[User talk:Greenpianta|talk]]) 15:27, May 25, 2024 (EDT)

Another thing is related to this: Is it possible that the List of Beanholes for Superstar Saga is not accurate? Like I don't remember seeing that the remake removed some beans, only made the invisible ones visible, so the numbers should be same, but in the areas mentioned above it's not the case. It will take time but I will find out myself. But if I'm proven right I would add to the old list. But if not, that means some beans were added in the remake, so that's another reason to do that list for the remake.
:That's okay, thanks for letting me know. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 23:59, May 26, 2024 (EDT)

The reason I'm asking is that like I would do the list but then it would be deleted because it would seem unnecessary.
== [[Ghost House]] formatting ==

Well, that's all from me for now.
Hello [[User:Mario jc|Mario jc]], so I've noticed some pages with the word '''[[Ghost House]]''' in them, for example in the ''[[New Super Mario Bros. (disambiguation)|New Super Mario Brothers]]'' series, but here's one problem, and that is that some of the words reading ''Ghost House'' sometimes do not have links and are sometimes lowercased (e.g. ''ghost house'' instead of ''Ghost House''), this really needs to be changed to match the formatting: ''[[Ghost House]]'', but do not put the link if it is too close, and do not put the italic text at all. Thank you very much. {{User:C11P/sig}} 04:55, May 31, 2024 (EDT)

== Broken reference in Luigi's page ==

Edit: So I have found 1 in Teehee Valley and added a picture. But also found the place in Beanbean Fields where it's supposed to be, but isn't. And in Chucklehuck Woods, in the remake, the 5 required to dig out aren't counted in the Records option in the menu, so the number is fine without them. So, the remake added 1 new beanhole and made the others visible and some visible one have been moved. So in my opinion, I think the list of beanholes for the remake is a good idea. And while I would do that, I would also do the hidden blocks. Just to have everything. Now, I'm done. Sorry for the long message (if it's bothering you).--[[User:Mid188|Mid188]] ([[User talk:Mid188|talk]]) 18:18, September 15, 2019 (EDT)

Just to be clear, yes Nintendo officially did release the Disk System in Hong Kong. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXuVDUUmYyo This commercial] is more than enough proof that this is a legitimate release. The release year for both the Famicom and Disk System is a bit unclear but it's speculated to have released around 1991 around the exact same time as the Hong Kong Famicom as seen in [https://youtu.be/7xAgz8Tdogc?=shared&t=60 this video] from the 1991 holiday season. I would like to see a better source for the release as well but the fact of the matter is that this release did happen in Hong Kong and is licensed by Nintendo for the region. --[[User:Bro3256|Bro3256]] ([[User talk:Bro3256|talk]]) 13:45, June 1, 2024 (EDT)

Hi, Mario jc! I noticed that we are using an outdated name for the Brazilian rating board, "DEJUS", in the [[Template:Ratings|ratings template]]. No recent official material cites that agency; the practical guide (https://www.gov.br/mj/pt-br/assuntos/seus-direitos/classificacao-1/paginas-classificacao-indicativa/CLASSINDAUDIOVISUAL_Guia_27042022versaofinal.pdf) is attributed to the D''P''JUS, and the official site (https://www.gov.br/mj/pt-br/assuntos/seus-direitos/classificacao-1) also mentions the ''Coordenação de Política de Classificação Indicativa''. {{wp|Brazilian advisory rating system|Wikipedia}} changed their article name back in 2014.

I tried to figure out how to fix it, but i didn't find out. Also, i had some things to do, which is why i didn't have enough time to fix it either. --{{User:FanOfYoshi/sig}} 02:05, October 1, 2019 (EDT)
The most appropriate name to use would be '''ClassInd''', shortening of "Classificação Indicativa", the name of the platform that publishes the ratings, and the one commonly used on the official sites and documents (and in general by the media and audiences). Wikipedia also uses ClassInd in the first line of their article.

I know there's been [[MarioWiki talk:New articles|talk about potentially broadening the scope of the wiki's general notability guideline]], but I'd nonetheless like to hear your opinion on what parts of certain subjects in ''[[Super Mario Party]]'' should receive their own articles:
Why did [[User:Mario jc|you]] delete [[Special:Diff/4269194|my talk page]] for ''[[Phantom Returns]]''? {{User:Bwario/sig}} 05:16, June 25, 2024 (EDT)
*First of all, should the Mario Party and Partner Party boards be split? My thinking is that unlike the Bowser Party variants of boards in ''[[Mario Party 10]]'', these are different boards with different layouts, and the only thing similar about them is the general theme of each board.
*Second, should the different pathways in the River Survival mode get their own articles? I think they should, since not only is each path named, but they're also in fixed locations, have the same layouts, etc. That's also not to mention that I already split out the Challenge Road worlds into their own articles due to the precedent already set for the Minigame Island worlds in ''[[Mario Party: The Top 100]]''.

== Blocks and talk pages ==
Hello [[User:Mario jc|Mario jc]], so it turns out that you reversed my edit in the [[Frosted Glacier]] page where I put the following words [[Castle]], [[Ghost House]], and [[Tower]] in lowercase, the reason why this was done is because these words are not proper nouns in a name or a [[Mario]] game from the [[Super Mario (franchise)|''Super Mario'' (franchise)]]. English does not use capital letters in paragraphs unless if it is the word at the start of the paragraph or proper nouns, like Mario and [[Bowser]] as an example, so can we lowercase these page links please? {{User:C11P/sig}} 02:49, June 29, 2024 (EDT)

Look at the bold sentence!
Hello [[User:Mario jc|Mario jc]], so I responded to your message about the formatting of [[Ghost House]], here's an example of it being in lowercase, I kindly ask you to go to the [[Frosted Glacier]] page, then look under the page history and click on the revision that was made on March 17, 2024, as that is the revision before I started changing that page, then look under the [[Frosted Glacier#Levels|levels]] section, then look at the ''[[New Super Mario Bros. ''Contractions (such as "it's", "can't", and "doesn't") should be kept out of article writings (instead using "it is", "cannot"/"can not", and "does not"), unless they are used in things like quotes. They can be used on talk pages, but using contractions on articles does not look very professional and should be avoided as much as possible. I see you've been helping Mid with his RPG item lists (and they're really helpful, good work to both!). I want to transclude some sections from list articles ([[Pi%27illo#Pi.27illo_locations]], [[List of beanholes in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team]], [[List of real world blocks in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team]]) onto the area articles ([[Mushrise Park]], [[Dozing Sands]], etc). I think it's more useful than just a small link, readers are more likely to look up the area name than a list of blocks, articles for the later ''Paper Mario'' games already do it, and I'm planning to trim down the current item lists to remove the ones already included in the block sections to avoid redundancy. Would it be possible to transclude, or do I just have to copy-paste them over? {{User:Scrooge200/sig}} 01:06, July 1, 2024 (EDT)

Can you add Portuguese (Portugal) into Super Mario Party Jamboree's list of supported languages? --[[User:Justgetmycatch|Justgetmycatch]] ([[User talk:Justgetmycatch|talk]]) 10:35, July 4, 2024 (EDT)
Seeing that Super Mario Odyssey uses a lot of obscure elements mainly with the outfits, including some from Japanese media like the Scientist Outfit from the Super Game Boy Commercial, it's not that big of a stretch compared to other games. But Peach's explorable outfit in ''Picross 2'' shows she wears shorts and socks and that's the only game she had that appearance until ''Super Mario Odyssey'' which was way before the ''Mario Party 2'' outfit which I am glad you removed that reference since those are indeed a stretch including the fact she is wearing a different pink dress and Mario's explorable outfit is more direct from ''Mario Picross''. But her outfit in ''Super Mario Odyssey'' is 96% accurate to the one from ''Picross 2''. Now about that scarf/shirt being oddly the smallest issue of this, Even if it was one of them there both the same triangular shape and Mario even has it too in the same shape of the inside of the pointed collar but even that is never said to be either a shirt or scarf in the collar of his explorable outfit. Also Peach has a neck that sticks out more from Mario so of course that pink neck wear is going to get adjusted. Peach's explorable outfit is using the most of the model parts from Mario's which is from the ''Mario Picross'' series in ''Super Mario Odyssey''. But clearly Peach's explorable Outfit is from ''Picross 2''. Only Peach's explorable Outfit in Mario Party 2 has a scarf.

Keep in mind that Nintendo does sometimes tweak/update designs such as Dr. Mario now sporting a tie since ''Dr. Mario 64''. I am not using the Pirate and Cowboy Outfit as an example those barley look anything like the ones from Mario Party 2 so there indeed not originated from that game. --[[User:Gamermakerguy|Gamermakerguy]] ([[User talk:Gamermakerguy|talk]]) 23:45, November 8, 2019 (EST)

:The surname "Ibe" in this instance (pronounced "i-beh") is Japanese as the credits in the [https://m1.nintendo.net/docvc/NUS/JPN/NMWJ/NMWJ_J.pdf Japanese manual] show. Also, you keep pulling these facts like her name as of 2018 and her supposed birthplace yet you have not provided any proof for any of this whatsoever. If you're insistent on the fact that she isn't Japanese (even going so far as to [[Talk:Eriko Ibe|call out Americans for being "ignorant"]], which was extremely rude), the least you could do is show some evidence for the information you keep bringing up from your side. Otherwise, simply saying "There's no proof she is Japanese" would have sufficed. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 19:19, November 18, 2019 (EST)

Hello [[User:Mario jc|Mario jc]], so I've been a bit concerned in some instances where people are writing [[Hammer Bro]]s. or any other Bros. without the period after the "S" (e.g. <code><nowiki>[[Hammer Bro]]s</nowiki></code> instead of <code><nowiki>[[Hammer Bro]]s.</nowiki></code>). The reason there is a period at the end is because "Bro" stands for "Brother", so if there was a letter that stands for something else, you would put the period at the end, and I think that the period after "Bros" looks much better. Hope this helps, thank you so much, Mario jc. {{User:C11P/sig}} 02:33, July 14, 2024 (EDT)

I'm trying to find marriage records with her in it, as she married last year and is now Eriko Kenyatta, as she married a Kenyan man.
Hi!
Keep in mind though not every country keeps records like your country of the USA does.
On the article [[List of Mario references in animated television]], for Panty and Stocking, it said that there were 2 Playboy girls resembling Peach and Daisy. How can I post a picture of a cartoon and follow the copyright laws?
I will keep searching though, I'm wondering if that will either prove her origins or else the fact she's no longer Eriko Ibe?

I'll see if I can find it.  I was there but didn't get a good pic due to my phone dying at the wedding though.
That said, I will look and see if there are records either in Zambia or Kenya, hopefully they do keep records of marriages like in the USA.

Hi! I've fixed my signature. Now for the character artwork. Unfortunately, two of the dataminers I've gotten images from for New York - Paris have left. We have a new dataminer, but the one thing we're unsure of and they never told is how they automatically got the images transparent when exporting. What they've said to do never worked for us now. Because of that, I have to take an image with broken alphas and manually fix it with a black and white image also in the game's files, which does leave a bit of residue. I wish I knew how to fix it, but unless we figure out how to fix that this is the best I can do. {{User:SwampyGator/sig}} 20:50, December 4, 2019 (EST)

I did however, remove the background of the icons, and place a white square in the background of the icons, to remove any of the excess teal background, and to make the icons look much cleaner. The white square in the background is unnoticeable and I think works as placeholders for the icons until the game is released. I’m sorry again if I come off as rude. Now that you mentioned this, I probably got it from a ResetEra forum thread which was either unsourced or gave a fan nickname. I looked at YouTube videos of the beta tests a while back, and the game NEVER mentioned "Retro Tour". It only said "Beta Test" in the American version and "β テスト" (meaning Beta Test) in the Japanese version, as the beta was released only in America and Japan. Hey there, noted. However, the tracks for 'Puzzle Hustle', 'Banana, Split', and 'Senseless Census' are official and are in the sound test of the game.
As for 'Dust Buddies', that one was already on the page even though it's not an official title or in the sound test, but it is a variation of 'Iced Out', which IS in the sound test. I will redo my edits for the former three but 'Dust Buddies' is up to you if you think it's valid or not (and if not, the track section should be removed altogether not just my edit).

secret codes[edit]

I did see that note. perhaps should've made discussion before adding it. on one hand I understand since it just says what buttons to press, but on the other hand a game mentioning a cheat code is also a bit more complicated then just listing controls as of all the other instances (not to mention being hidden and games rarely mention secret codes like that ingame) then theres the instance of the code in Bowser's Inside Story, which is also on the page. True they do mention hearing the 'buttons' being pressed, but it's still essentialy passing secret info meant for the player, and again a bit more special then the usual "press 'this button' to do 'this'.Pikmin theories (talk) 22:15, November 10, 2023 (EST)

Doubts[edit]

Kloak and Kackle[edit]

In your point of view, Kloak and Kackle were old pirate Kremlings before Kremling Krew? Here many profiles.

  • Gloomy Gulch in instruction booklet (page 30): "This spooky area is also haunted by the evil Kremling spirits known as Kloak and Kackle."
  • Gloomy Gulch in Player's guide (page 20): "Don't count on meeting another living soul in this dilapidated ghost town, where even the ropes fade in and out of existence like phantoms."
  • Web Woods in German player's guide (page 84): "Dieser schrecklich düstere Wald wird sogar von den Kremlingpiraten gemieden."
  • Nintendo Power vol. 76 (page 26): "Keep a watch out for Klobber when he's barreling ahead and the Ghost Pirate who haunts the forest shadows."

Re: Signature[edit]

I had no idea :O Thank you for letting me know about that and for creating a subpage for me. I wanted to have a subpage for my signature, but I am still a non-autoconfirmed user which holds me back from creating a page for myself. I changed my preferences for the signature, so this should do the trick. Derekblue1(talk)Daisy Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga-styled sprite 08:32, November 12, 2023 (EST)

Glitch?[edit]

I kept getting logged out of my edit on Locomotionless, I was going to add the Japanese name for the quest and it treats me like I have not logged in. Does it have to do with the page being autoconfirmed locked? Derekblue1(talk)Daisy Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga-styled sprite 09:42, November 16, 2023 (EST)

Oh, I think I figured out. That it keeps logging me out because of that video link I put on references. When I excluded it, it went fine. Derekblue1(talk)Daisy Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga-styled sprite 09:46, November 16, 2023 (EST)

RPG lists question.[edit]

So, I'm back, again. New RPG, new list to create. Anyways, I'll stick to the point: Since the page for ? Blocks in Origami King is so thorough and includes EVERY SINGLE ONE, I thought: Why some pages should have only hidden blocks and this one has all. I am aware that TOK as ingame counter for them, but so does the 3DS Mario and Luigi titles and only SS has the page for the hidden ones. So, I propose these two scenarios:

Add non-hidden ? Blocks to the respective pages and then rename the pages and create the pages for the games that does not have them, such as PIT. And do it for every single RPG.

OR

Same as above but only in the games that have the ? Block counter in them, such as 3DS ML games mentioned above.

I really think this would be a good idea, but I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this. Even if you think I should not do it, tell me, so I won't ask in the future again.

Anyways, that is all. --Mid188 (talk) 16:45, November 17, 2023 (EST)

Okay, I'm going to go ahead with scenario 1, starting with the original SMRPG. Will keep you posted after every game. --Mid188 (talk) 22:04, November 17, 2023 (EST)

Okay, I have a request: Could you look at my Sandbox and tell me which of the two images do you prefer? Then delete both, I will upload all at once after I'm done with the game.--Mid188 (talk) 20:17, November 18, 2023 (EST)

Okay, this is what I'll do: I will screenshot the location, then crop it to remove the black bars and then change it to 1920x1080, that seems like the best option. So, please remove the File:Mushroom Way Treasure 1 (Cropped).png page, it's not needed anymore. Thank you and I'll make myself known after completing the game. --Mid188 (talk) 20:48, November 18, 2023 (EST)

I'm sorry, I just thought the bigger one would be better. I will use the small ones then. Thank you for your input.--Mid188 (talk) 20:54, November 18, 2023 (EST)

Okay, will do as you say and correct the mistake. Thank you for stopping me before I got really far. --Mid188 (talk) 08:16, November 24, 2023 (EST)

Ok, I am almost done, you can check if there's anything to correct before transfering it to the page. --Mid188 (talk) 10:47, November 24, 2023 (EST)

Oh okay, so do you want separate pages or separate sections on 1 page?--Mid188 (talk) 07:10, November 25, 2023 (EST)

Something like this?--Mid188 (talk) 07:54, November 25, 2023 (EST)

Hi, I'm back. Completed PM64 and already did the list(s) in my sandbox. You can check for anything if you want, afterwards I would upload the images and make the page(s). Onto the original Superstar Saga.--Mid188 (talk) 17:04, December 3, 2023 (EST)

Hi.

  • Special ? Block - 2 in Pump Works and 1 in Energy Hold, these ? Blocks when struck create a collumn of 5 M/L Blocks in a pattern, which then must be repeated by striking subsequent 5 ? Blocks. Since they are different from normal ? Blocks, I would like to know if we have page for this type of block so I can use it when making the list? I vaguely remember it reappearing in Paper Jam, with P Blocks added to the mix.
  • Body Slam Panel - In Blubble Lake, Bowser Path and Peach's Castle. They also give out rewards when struck, just like ? Blocks But due to their low number, which would be better: Include them in the list or make a section in the Body Slam page?
  • Empty Block - Ten in Toad Town Mall. Only in the Mushroom Ball sidequest. Add to the list and to the Mushroom Ball page or just the MB page? I know there already are some images, but I will include new ones in preparation for when I'll play the remake. (requested by Swallow)
  • Puzzle Sack Block - Same as MB - On the list and page or just the page? Here I would only edit the existing images and also to prepare it for the remake.
  • As for the rest, they will be added by default, so no questions for them.

Thank you for the upcoming answers, I will start with the list tommorow with your instructions. --Mid188 (talk) 09:38, January 25, 2024 (EST)

Ok, thank you for your input. I will get to it shortly.--Mid188 (talk) 07:40, January 26, 2024 (EST)

Block page or Hidden Block page?--Mid188 (talk) 15:34, February 3, 2024 (EST)

Okey dokey, will do. --Mid188 (talk) 08:48, February 5, 2024 (EST)

So, I am almost done with Sticker Star (like 97%), I just have one question: Since I was doing pictures for the paperization blocks/objects in the levels, should I also do pictures for the paperization in the Sticker Museum?--Mid188 (talk) 06:44, February 12, 2024 (EST)

Hi, I have a question: You know how List of ? Blocks in Paper Mario: The Origami King includes both visible and hidden blocks, right? Probably because it has a semi-block counter (the % one). I've wondered, should I combine the page I'm working on right now (List of blocks in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions) with the one for the hidden blocks from the same game (List of hidden blocks in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions )? I thought about it because these two games are the only ones that take the hidden blocks into account while counting the blocks in their in-game counters, unlike Paper Jam and Bowser's Inside Story remake (due to having none or very little hidden blocks). I would mark the hidden ones with the icon in the form of the Secret Specs sprite. So, what do you think? Is it a good idea or should I just finish the page and leave the other be? --Mid188 (talk) 14:40, May 29, 2024 (EDT)

Ok, then. Will do it after work tomorrow. Thank you for replying. --Mid188 (talk) 14:06, May 30, 2024 (EDT)

So, I have just added remake images for Treasures from SMRPG. Since one page shares both games with different names, should we keep the name List of treasure boxes in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars or change it to something else? --Mid188 (talk) 09:52, June 30, 2024 (EDT)

Imo, creating a redirect to that page on List of treasure boxes in Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch) would be sufficient. Contrary to the bestiary and other stuff in the PMTTYD remake, this one has same locations for everything, barring some content of chests changing. Makes sense to me to keep it to one page. Heck it'd be interesting to do pictures of switch ones for TTYD too like that but that'd take a whole new playthrough LetsPlayNintendoITA 10:00, June 30, 2024 (EDT)

--Mid188 (talk) 17:32, July 21, 2024 (EDT)

Hi, so I may have made a mistake but I'm not sure so I'll ask: Since the blocks containing coins and have a design of Brick Block are called Coin Block (something I found out very recently, my bad), should the pages that start with List of ? Blocks ... be renamed to List of blocks ... (not TOK since I checked and all blocks ARE ? Blocks)? --Mid188 (talk) 07:39, July 28, 2024 (EDT)

Hi, small thing I just found: In Star Pieces list for PM64, there is an error within the Quotes and statistics section and I don't know how to fix it. It is found at the end of the section so you dont have to look for it. Just thought you should know. --Mid188 (talk) 10:09, July 28, 2024 (EDT)

It's a bit tricky on what to call it. What plays in Tetris 99 is the arrangements of the title screen themes from the first three Mario Party games. In Mario Party Superstars, they're titled "Mario Party Superstars" with only (Mario Party), (Mario Party 2), and (Mario Party 3) to differentiate them. I settled with "Mario Party Superstars" Medley since anything else felt too long. Sorry for any confusion! -- KinokoBlast PaperMario Items Mushroom.png (talk) 15:52, December 28, 2023 (EST)

Asking[edit]

Hi, Am i able to create a article listing all the television networks and streaming services that aired or have the Mario and Donkey Kong related TV Shows and Movies?. MarioKartFan4863927 (talk) 06:29, January 3, 2024 (GMT)

How[edit]

Hi, How do i do the proposal on the proposals page itself. The problem is i'm not used doing this which is why i'm asking you because you probably have more experience at this than me. MarioKartFan4863927 (talk) 11:07, January 3, 2024 (GMT)

Idea[edit]

Hi, There's a idea that i didn't think about earlier, is that i could do categories for each streaming service and put the shows and movies that are on these services into them or do a streaming/digital category. MarioKartFan4863927 (talk) 12:52, January 3, 2024 (GMT)

To respond to your message[edit]

I do agree that there's been a lack of communication with the changes I'm making to articles. I think I just assumed proposals are mostly for deciding whether to create or delete stuff on the wiki. On sidenote, I think disagreements on articles (mainly if they're not part of a "set" like Mario Kart courses, Super Mario levels) are too vague and lack substance to form a proposal out of.

For show/hide, I personally love clicking between tabs and collapsible content, especially if it's collapsing an element than might clash with prose (e.g. bloated wikitables or galleries). I'm also not the only person to have been doing this, as I saw someone add to a section on the e-Reader article, which has a bloated wikitable.

For Cranky's Lab, other articles don't have a "Potions" heading, so I tried imagining a way to make it look consistent with other shop pages. Perhaps Inventory is an ideal heading for shop locations.

Lastly, even in wake of the disagreements, others did agree to me turning the enemy/item count on the level pages into gallery form, and that's the only change I made to some of the Super Mario level pages. Super Game Gear (talk) 09:51, January 4, 2024 (EST)

A new glitch and a previously unknown item in Super Mario Bros.[edit]

Hi there! I have some potential edits for some Protected Pages that you might be interested in.

The newly discovered glitch in Super Mario Bros.

It is possible to defeat the same Lakitu twice in Super Mario Bros. World 8-2. If you are very quick about it, you can defeat the same Lakitu a second time. This is a very unusual bug. Here is a demonstration!

The previously unknown item in Super Mario Bros.

A notable glitch in Super Mario Bros. is that two items cannot be rendered at the same time on the screen.

An implication of this is that the Beanstalk / Vine also needs to be included as one of the Items in the Super Mario Bros. article.

This is because the game considers Beanstalks to be an item.

I will prove this to you by showing that a vine cannot be rendered at the same time as an item. It is easy to make an item disappear because of a vine. But can you make a vine disappear because of an item?

In Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels World 3-1, you can do just that! Consider the close proximity of the vine block and mushroom block. Here's a gif but you can also try it out for yourself.

I am fascinated with glitches, and I hope these can be added to the notoriously short List of Super Mario Bros. glitches. Thank you!

One last note, does the list of glitches contain the one where you fall directly on top of a vine or the flagpole? For some reason I can't find it in the list, I thought that was a rather popular one.

An uncovered collective name[edit]

The cards needed to play minigames at the Pianta Parlor in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door — the Special Card, the Silver Card, the Gold Card, and the Platinum Card — are collectively called Member's Cards. The name appears four times in the game:

  • Lahla: "Oh! Mario! That card! You got a Member's Card! OK. I'll prepare the mini-game you can play with that Member's Card. How exciting!"
  • An unnamed Goomba in Pianta Parlor: "Whuzzat, now? You wanna know how to get a Member's Card, do ya?"
  • Wonky: "If you want to try it, you'll have to find a Member's Card somewhere..."

What should we do?

  • Do not cover the name.
  • Create a page for the name, using the singular form. This would make the page hard to categorize. For example, if we put it in Category:Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door special items, it would appear to be another special item rather than a collective name.
  • Create a page for the name, using the plural form. This doesn't seem to be wiki practice, and the plural form is unattested in the game.
  • Redirect the name to Pianta Parlor. Seems to be a good idea, but this would make Pianta Parlor a two-subject page, possibly with two bolded names in the introductory part.

"Minor NPC"[edit]

Currently we have the following three pages:

The inconsistency in their names is due to historical reasons. These pages were really about characters not covered on the wiki, which, due to SMW:NPC, are the minor (unimportant to storyline), unnamed NPCs. I initially went with "List of Minor NPCs …" because it was the only capitalized term at the time, which means I had to mention the minor-but-named characters, duplicating info available elsewhere on the wiki. I didn't use it for Super Paper Mario because the number of minor-but-named characters far outweighs the minor-but-unnamed ones in that game. Since the term was later decapitalized, would it be a good idea to change all three pages to "unnamed NPCs", for consistency? --Dine2017 (talk) 22:03, February 5, 2024 (EST)

Question about the Hammer theme[edit]

I was listening to the supposedly rearranged version of the Hammer Theme in Mario vs. Donkey Kong for Switch. Mario vs. Donkey Kong level identifiers[edit]

Another thing: how should we handle the naming of levels from the Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake? Since, as you know, two new worlds were added in (meaning, say, Level 6-4 is now Level 8-4), we'll no doubt have to do a massive series of page moves, but should the identifier stay the same for the moved pages? I have a question about the number of signatures you can have.[edit]

Hi! I have a small question about signatures. In MarioWiki:Signatures, one of the rules states that "Some users also change their sigs during certain holidays. Level templates[edit]

Hello! Out of curiosity, I have a question regarding game-specific templates if it's a case-by-case basis, thinking about how SMB3 wouldn't be included in the level articles, but for example DKC is present in the level articles of the game. But that maybe is a relic from the merge?

Game-specific templates
...These auxiliary game-specific templates only need to go on the articles of subjects that concern them (e.g. the NSMB2 level articles) and the game page itself. Like the main game-specific templates, auxiliary templates are color-coded based on series.

I assumed that the main template should be included in all articles related to the game, but that auxiliary level templates should only be present in the main article and level articles. Or should this question be taken else where? Kind regards Nikenpelle (talk|sandbox) 11:41, March 23, 2024 (EDT)

Hello! I was wondering if you've played Princess Peach: Showtime enough to help me out with something. I made this proposal recently. I thought all was well and that my reasoning was correct until I noticed something on the Radiant Peach page. There is a currently-unmade page titled Sparkla Spirit that I think may be exactly what Stella was referring to in the quote that I based my proposal evidence around. If this is the case, it would mean that I'd have to change and/or delete my proposal as it would not be needed. However, I have not made it to the part of the game where the Sparkla Spirit(s) are directly mentioned, so I don't know what to do. Can you please help me figure this out by reading my proposal and getting back to me on whether it's necessary for me to keep it up? If you haven't played Princess Peach: Showtime! enough to help me, can you please point me to someone who you know has played through the game enough to verify my proposal evidence and/or could help me take my next steps? Redirects[edit]

I'm questioning about our current practice of piping links to avoid redirects. Someone asked exactly why we do this, and I thought about reasons but they didn't really connect well. Wikipedia has a rundown on why linking to redirects on articles is actually good practice (and probably better than piping), and the reasons here seem solid. I know we're not Wikipedia, but it's hard to argue against the reasoning itself. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 20:46, May 22, 2024 (EDT)

I mean, the same thing about there being "nothing wrong with it" can be said about actively fixing links to redirects too. And it's unlikely there'll be a Mario-centric subject named "Sonic" that's just as let alone more prominent than Sonic the Hedgehog that will take over that article title (going by that first "reason not to bypass"), and we use piped links for a lot of text already where it's necessary (second reason). I assume Porple had a reason for establishing the rule (I always assumed it was a technical reason) so maybe ask him. Ghost House formatting[edit]

Hello Mario jc, so I've noticed some pages with the word Ghost House in them, for example in the New Super Mario Brothers series, but here's one problem, and that is that some of the words reading Ghost House sometimes do not have links and are sometimes lowercased (e.g. ghost house instead of Ghost House), this really needs to be changed to match the formatting: Ghost House, but do not put the link if it is too close, and do not put the italic text at all. Thank you very much. Penguin Luigi from Mario Kart Tour C11P (talk contributions) 04:55, May 31, 2024 (EDT)

Broken reference in Luigi's page[edit]

The reference in the section about Luigi's personality is broken and causes a decent chunk of the section to disappear. This is why I had removed that reference but kept the Nate Bihldorff's words. Please try to fix this. User:Vittorio Fedele (talk)

The Famicom Disk System did release in Hong Kong[edit]

Just to be clear, yes Nintendo officially did release the Disk System in Hong Kong. This commercial is more than enough proof that this is a legitimate release. The release year for both the Famicom and Disk System is a bit unclear but it's speculated to have released around 1991 around the exact same time as the Hong Kong Famicom as seen in this video from the 1991 holiday season. I would like to see a better source for the release as well but the fact of the matter is that this release did happen in Hong Kong and is licensed by Nintendo for the region. --Bro3256 (talk) 13:45, June 1, 2024 (EDT)

Wiki slowing down[edit]

Hello Mario jc, is it just me or is this Wiki slowing down? When I open pages, the page slows down the loading and when it finishes loading in, the files slowly load in, when I stop loading the page, I cannot see the files and all I can see is just the file's link. Is this happening to just me right now or is the Wiki's server slowing down? Penguin Luigi from Mario Kart Tour C11P (talk contributions) 05:30, June 4, 2024 (EDT)

Question[edit]

Hi, Mario jc! I noticed that we are using an outdated name for the Brazilian rating board, "DEJUS", in the ratings template. No recent official material cites that agency; the practical guide (https://www.gov.br/mj/pt-br/assuntos/seus-direitos/classificacao-1/paginas-classificacao-indicativa/CLASSINDAUDIOVISUAL_Guia_27042022versaofinal.pdf) is attributed to the DPJUS, and the official site (https://www.gov.br/mj/pt-br/assuntos/seus-direitos/classificacao-1) also mentions the Coordenação de Política de Classificação Indicativa. Wikipedia changed their article name back in 2014.

The most appropriate name to use would be ClassInd, shortening of "Classificação Indicativa", the name of the platform that publishes the ratings, and the one commonly used on the official sites and documents (and in general by the media and audiences). Wikipedia also uses ClassInd in the first line of their article.

Would that warrant a proposal? I feel like it wouldn't, but if we were to change it, 50+ articles would need to be edited, so I just wanted to be sure first. Thanks in advance! Yook Bab-imba 22:15, June 5, 2024 (EDT)

Monopoly Gamer[edit]

Hello Mario jc, in the Soda Jungle page, Soda Jungle was the ninth property on the game board in Monopoly Gamer, so it needed text about it, but before I started editing the page, Monopoly Gamer was not italicized, it needed to be italicized because Monopoly Gamer is a game. Keep that in mind if you are gonna write Monopoly Gamer later on. Penguin Luigi from Mario Kart Tour C11P (talk contributions) 02:34, June 16, 2024 (EDT)

Lowercase instead of capital letters[edit]

Hello Mario jc, so it turns out that you reversed my edit in the Frosted Glacier page where I put the following words Castle, Ghost House, and Tower in lowercase, the reason why this was done is because these words are not proper nouns in a name or a Mario game from the Super Mario (franchise). English does not use capital letters in paragraphs unless if it is the word at the start of the paragraph or proper nouns, like Mario and Bowser as an example, so can we lowercase these page links please? Ghost House in lowercase[edit]

Hello Mario jc, so I responded to your message about the formatting of Ghost House, here's an example of it being in lowercase, I kindly ask you to go to the Frosted Glacier page, then look under the page history and click on the revision that was made on March 17, 2024, as that is the revision before I started changing that page, then look under the levels section, then look at the New Super Mario Bros. U section of the levels section, then look at the description of Swaying Ghost House and see what it says. Thank you, Mario jc. Penguin Luigi from Mario Kart Tour C11P (talk contributions) 02:52, June 30, 2024 (EDT)

Transclusions[edit]

I see you've been helping Mid with his RPG item lists (and they're really helpful, good work to both!). I want to transclude some sections from list articles (Pi'illo#Pi.27illo_locations, List of beanholes in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, List of real world blocks in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team) onto the area articles (Mushrise Park, Dozing Sands, etc). I think it's more useful than just a small link, readers are more likely to look up the area name than a list of blocks, articles for the later Paper Mario games already do it, and I'm planning to trim down the current item lists to remove the ones already included in the block sections to avoid redundancy. Would it be possible to transclude, or do I just have to copy-paste them over? Scrooge200 (talk) PMCS Mustard Cafe Sign.png 01:06, July 1, 2024 (EDT)

Hammer Bro formatting[edit]

Hello Mario jc, so I've been a bit concerned in some instances where people are writing Hammer Bros. or any other Bros. without the period after the "S" (e.g. [[Hammer Bro]]s instead of [[Hammer Bro]]s.). The reason there is a period at the end is because "Bro" stands for "Brother", so if there was a letter that stands for something else, you would put the period at the end, and I think that the period after "Bros" looks much better. Hope this helps, thank you so much, Mario jc. Penguin Luigi from Mario Kart Tour C11P (talk contributions) 02:33, July 14, 2024 (EDT)

Cannot edit New Super Luigi U anonymously[edit]

Hello Mario jc, so it turns out that the page "New Super Luigi U" cannot be edited anonymously, meaning you need to be logged in in order to edit this page. Why is it like this? "expand" template[edit]

Hi. Why do we have {{rewrite}} and {{rewrite-expand}} but no {{expand}}? The new template could be used to mean "This article is incomplete, but the existing parts are OK and don't need be rewritten". Although {{stub}} addresses such cases, it is less eye-catching for editors and less feature-complete. And {{construction}} only applies to articles actively being worked on. --Dine2017 (talk) 03:03, August 17, 2024 (EDT)

Why did you (Mario jc (talk)) revert what I wrote?[edit]

I put the citation needed “thing” in the Mario and Luigi's family page section GPoppy and you “unwrote” it. You told me that “grandpappy” and “grandpop” means “grandfather” and I know that, but in the picture it said ”GPoppy” and not “grandpoppy”. And even if it meant that, it could be someone else’s grandpa.

I would like to ask permission for something[edit]

Dear Mario jc (talk),

I would like to ask permission to create a new category about the Mario family. I would put all the Mario family members (by the way, do Stanley and Wario and Waluigi count? They are Mario's cousins in the fandom wiki) in a category named "Mario family" or "Mario and Luigi's family" or something like that. I would also like to do that with Peach and Daisy, Bowser and Bowser Jr., DK and Diddy and more characters that will pop in my head later. So, what do you say? Can I? And also, it was me who made you make the page Mama Mario "uneditable". Sorry.

Issued reminder for Mario Party Jamboree Character Icosns[edit]

Hello! I recently uploaded some of the Mario Party Jamboree character icons and they were removed by you for being “blurry and upscaled.” While I appreciate your efforts to provide the most quality screenshots of the character icons, I can assure you I did not upscale the icons. I did however, remove the background of the icons, and place a white square in the background of the icons, to remove any of the excess teal background, and to make the icons look much cleaner. The white square in the background is unnoticeable and I think works as placeholders for the icons until the game is released. I’m sorry again if I come off as rude. I am a beginner for contributing on the wiki and just want to provide the best information I possibly can. Thanks so much!

Mario Party Tracks[edit]

Hey there, noted. However, the tracks for 'Puzzle Hustle', 'Banana, Split', and 'Senseless Census' are official and are in the sound test of the game. As for 'Dust Buddies', that one was already on the page even though it's not an official title or in the sound test, but it is a variation of 'Iced Out', which IS in the sound test. I will redo my edits for the former three but 'Dust Buddies' is up to you if you think it's valid or not (and if not, the track section should be removed altogether not just my edit).
