Super Mario Party notability
I know there's been talk about potentially broadening the scope of the wiki's general notability guideline, but I'd nonetheless like to hear your opinion on what parts of certain subjects in Super Mario Party should receive their own articles:
- First of all, should the Mario Party and Partner Party boards be split? My thinking is that unlike the Bowser Party variants of boards in Mario Party 10, these are different boards with different layouts, and the only thing similar about them is the general theme of each board.
- Second, should the different pathways in the River Survival mode get their own articles? I think they should, since not only is each path named, but they're also in fixed locations, have the same layouts, etc. That's also not to mention that I already split out the Challenge Road worlds into their own articles due to the precedent already set for the Minigame Island worlds in Mario Party: The Top 100.
- Third, and lastly, should Bad Luck Space be split from Unlucky Space? My thinking is that these spaces are more akin to Bowser Spaces from previous games. I know I already split VS Space from Minigame Space due to being too different, but I want your opinion to ensure that my actions aren't too overkill.
Thanks for your time. (T|C) 12:57, October 22, 2019 (EDT)
- Fixed the content fork you mentioned (honestly I have no idea how it went unnoticed for six months), though I have explained my reasons for splitting VS Space and Minigame Space here (second comment from top). I'll probably start splitting out Bad Luck Space (and Extra Bad Luck Space) as soon as possible, though I will take your advice for the Partner Party boards and start a proposal to split those out soon. Thanks for your advice! (T|C) 12:52, October 23, 2019 (EDT)

You told that Rachid fellow to check his talk page during his block. However, as person who has been blocked, I can say that the link to your talk page disappears when you are blocked as you are automatically signed out. Style Manual Addition
Look at the bold sentence!
Contractions (such as "it's", "can't", and "doesn't") should be kept out of article writings (instead using "it is", "cannot"/"can not", and "does not"), unless they are used in things like quotes. They can be used on talk pages, but using contractions on articles does not look very professional and should be avoided as much as possible. Using "can not" should also be avoided.CuteDolphin712 (talk) 04:55, October 25, 2019 (EDT)
I would, however, the non-obtained badges aren't actually different sprites, they're just the normal sprites with a filter placed over them. SwampyGator (talk) 18:35, October 30, 2019 (EDT)
More info about Run-On sentences?
I know we talked about this the other day and I suppose I went a bit too far with too many commas or some periods. Maybe you have some more info for me to avoid this again? MarioGamerFan24 (talk) 09:03, November 5, 2019 (EST)

Hi, I just noticed that an image I uploaded was deleted, and I am not sure why it was. Peach Explores Outfit
Seeing that Super Mario Odyssey uses a lot of obscure elements mainly with the outfits, including some from Japanese media like the Scientist Outfit from the Super Game Boy Commercial, it's not that big of a stretch compared to other games. But Peach's explorable outfit in Picross 2 shows she wears shorts and socks and that's the only game she had that appearance until Super Mario Odyssey which was way before the Mario Party 2 outfit which I am glad you removed that reference since those are indeed a stretch including the fact she is wearing a different pink dress and Mario's explorable outfit is more direct from Mario Picross. But her outfit in Super Mario Odyssey is 96% accurate to the one from Picross 2. Now about that scarf/shirt being oddly the smallest issue of this, Even if it was one of them there both the same triangular shape and Mario even has it too in the same shape of the inside of the pointed collar but even that is never said to be either a shirt or scarf in the collar of his explorable outfit. Also Peach has a neck that sticks out more from Mario so of course that pink neck wear is going to get adjusted. Peach's explorable outfit is using the most of the model parts from Mario's which is from the Mario Picross series in Super Mario Odyssey. But clearly Peach's explorable Outfit is from Picross 2. Only Peach's explorable Outfit in Mario Party 2 has a scarf.
Keep in mind that Nintendo does sometimes tweak/update designs such as Dr. Mario now sporting a tie since Dr. Mario 64. I am not using the Pirate and Cowboy Outfit as an example those barley look anything like the ones from Mario Party 2 so there indeed not originated from that game. --Gamermakerguy (talk) 23:45, November 8, 2019 (EST)

Hello. This gif, which appears on your user page, is part of a collection of "Buddy Icons" from the official NSMB website. Songs on the list
Someone removed the information I added regarding the fact that there are songs in the Super Mario Bros. movie because "there are songs in every movie". Also, there are no songs on the list that appear in the TV shows, so that leads me to believe that we don't include them. The list I'm referring to is the list of references in the Mario franchise. no proof that Eriko Ibe is Japanese.
Hello Eriko Ibe (now Eriko Kenyatta as of 2018) is not Japanese. Nobody has proof that she is Japanese other than American ignorance where you guys assume that just because she has a non-European name and Nintendo itself is Japanes that therefore Eriko Ibe (who has a completely non-Japanese name) is Japanese. Learn about Africa people. 199.101.61.254 16:28, November 18, 2019 (EST)
Also he rname is not Japanese as I am named Andrew Ibe, and like Eriko was born in South-Central Africa. 199.101.61.254 19:08, November 18, 2019 (EST)
- The surname "Ibe" in this instance (pronounced "i-beh") is Japanese as the credits in the Japanese manual show. Also, you keep pulling these facts like her name as of 2018 and her supposed birthplace yet you have not provided any proof for any of this whatsoever. If you're insistent on the fact that she isn't Japanese (even going so far as to call out Americans for being "ignorant", which was extremely rude), the least you could do is show some evidence for the information you keep bringing up from your side. Otherwise, simply saying "There's no proof she is Japanese" would have sufficed. Mario JC 19:19, November 18, 2019 (EST)
Well it's true, you Americans are ignorant in terms of much of the rest of the world. that's not rude if it's true. If I asked a bunch of Americans without letting them google it to tell me where Lusaka is, how many would say "Japan?" 199.101.61.254 17:43, November 19, 2019 (EST)
- Not only is that completely irrelevant, it's also sanctimoniously smug in light of your apparently inability to comprehend a dissenting opinion that actually has substance. -- Lord G. matters. 19:52, November 19, 2019 (EST)
please see Talk:Eriko Ibe
Please see Talk:Eriko Ibe, I'm trying to view your source to verify how her appearin in a japanese handbook makes her Japanese despite her name not bein gJapanese (we share a surname and her name is Bantu for "roming one") Please see there for more. thanks. 199.101.61.254 19:16, November 18, 2019 (EST)
- Surnames from different languages can have the same spelling by coincidence. "Eriko" may be a Bantu name and is probably pronounced differently but it's also a Japanese name (恵理子) (and a common one at that), which is the case here. "Lee" for example is an English surname but it's also one in Chinese. Mario JC 19:38, November 18, 2019 (EST)
Ibe (the African name and mine and Eriko's) is pronounced as like the website ebay. Eriko is pronounced similar to the name Erika/Erica but with a long O sound like in hope. 199.101.61.254 19:49, November 18, 2019 (EST)
I'm trying to find marriage records with her in it, as she married last year and is now Eriko Kenyatta, as she married a Kenyan man.
Keep in mind though not every country keeps records like your country of the USA does.
I will keep searching though, I'm wondering if that will either prove her origins or else the fact she's no longer Eriko Ibe?
I'll see if I can find it. I was there but didn't get a good pic due to my phone dying at the wedding though.
That said, I will look and see if there are records either in Zambia or Kenya, hopefully they do keep records of marriages like in the USA.
199.101.61.254 19:56, November 18, 2019 (EST)
- Why would her marrying an African man and changing her name suddenly make her no longer Japanese, though? -- Lord G. matters. 20:34, November 18, 2019 (EST)
It'd be proof she never was Japanese because in some countries especially with international marriages you'd see the country of birth for pth people. if it does, it'd show that Eriko Ibe was born in Lusaka. There is no such place as Lusaka, Japan. 199.101.61.254 10:55, November 19, 2019 (EST)
- Not being born in Japan =/= not ethnically Japanese. -- Lord G. matters. 19:55, November 19, 2019 (EST)

RE:Character art / signature
Hi! I've fixed my signature. Now for the character artwork. Unfortunately, two of the dataminers I've gotten images from for New York - Paris have left. We have a new dataminer, but the one thing we're unsure of and they never told is how they automatically got the images transparent when exporting. What they've said to do never worked for us now. Because of that, I have to take an image with broken alphas and manually fix it with a black and white image also in the game's files, which does leave a bit of residue. I wish I knew how to fix it, but unless we figure out how to fix that this is the best I can do. TrainiaxLet's chat! 20:50, December 4, 2019 (EST)

Hi, I have a question: Since Fly (enemy) is no longer sufficient with a type identifier due to there being a similarly-named enemy in DK64, should I use Fly (Mario Paint) as the page's title, or something else? (T|C) 10:21, December 14, 2019 (EST)

Original image uploads from the user should rename the file?
Sometimes when we upload a file of the image we put to the wiki, the name of the file is not renamed and cannot be changed but only applies to admins. Should users who first upload images be able to rename the file if they forgot to? This is a suggestion.
For example (in this case): I upload a file that has the Super Mario Bros. 3 warp pipe yellow icon for Super Mario Maker 2 and I forgot to rename the file and I am unable to do that.

New York Minute
Just wanted to be sure if you're okay with this, but should New York Minute still be a redirect to New York Minute 1? I just think that since the "1" was appended to the end of the title in the Winter Tour for MKT, readers would still be more likely to search for the first variation of the course than the second. (T|C) 20:34, December 18, 2019 (EST)
- To further elaborate, does that mean that there should also be disambig. pages for Vanilla Lake, Yellow Leaves Hill, and so on because those titles feature numbered race courses as well? Or should I start a proposal to ensure that everyone is on board with this? (T|C) 16:28, December 19, 2019 (EST)

Is "Fireball (obstacle)" the best name for the Mario Bros. article? It's not the only instance of a fireball as an obstacle, which is also covered in the default fireball page. LinkTheLefty (talk) 08:33, December 30, 2019 (EST)
ON/OFF Conveyor Belt
Shouldn't ON/OFF Conveyor Belt receive an article? I know that they're triggered by ON/OFF Switches in Super Mario Maker 2, but they also appear in New Super Mario Bros. 2 exclusively in World Flower-Castle where they're toggled by an unnamed switch. (P.S.: Should said unnamed switch be covered in the ON/OFF Switch article?) (T|C) 15:16, January 11, 2020 (EST)

Question
Should the two versions of Clawing for More be in separate articles? I just think that the only real similarity between them is the usage of the Ultra Hand, but everything else appears to be completely different, not just in terms of setting, but also the overall objectives for both. RE:Last warning
Thing is, though, I already said I'd stop for the time being before you issued the last warning, so I don't know if it was entirely necessary. Or is it meant to be a pile-on from my one-week block on October 2018? Not that I disagree at all with your concerns, just trying to get some clarification here. (T|C) 09:04, February 13, 2020 (EST)
- I'd also like to point out that there was another slew of undiscussed page splits of the same kind on August 31 and September 1, 2017 that were all carried out by the same user. I know it's kind of too late now, but since this user cited their own passed proposal as precedent for their splits, should they have been warned in more or less the same manner as me? (T|C) 09:24, February 13, 2020 (EST)
- Another thing: splitting Beanstar Piece shouldn't require a proposal, since there's already the Star Cure precedent. (T|C) 12:45, February 13, 2020 (EST)

In fact, according to the article, only Donkey Kong actually appears in the game, while Maple is only mentioned and the word Lakitu doesn't even appear the article. RE: "Retro Tour"
Now that you mentioned this, I probably got it from a ResetEra forum thread which was either unsourced or gave a fan nickname. I looked at YouTube videos of the beta tests a while back, and the game NEVER mentioned "Retro Tour". It only said "Beta Test" in the American version and "β テスト" (meaning Beta Test) in the Japanese version, as the beta was released only in America and Japan. I will make a file move right now. - Infinite8 09:55, February 20, 2020 (EST)
Lowercase categories?
Hi, I was wondering if theres a rule on lowercase categories. The reason i ask is because names like Category:Japan Only Games would look better if the latter two words were lowercase. Results May Vary (talk) 21:06, February 23, 2020 (EST)
- Yeah true, and the hundreds of Images categories -- moving one would be confusing because then it's like "well which ones were moved and which were not?" Results May Vary (talk) 22:20, February 23, 2020 (EST)
- We could always ask Porple and see if he'd be all right with using his bot....it'd still take a lengthily long while, but it'd be feasible at any rate... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:26, February 23, 2020 (EST)
- Something something Trig likes making lists of things. I could make a list of categories with funky capitalization if y'all want me to. Then, all Porple has to do is go right down the list and replace them that way. User:Trig Jegman - 22:29, February 23, 2020 (EST)
- The other issue is, lets say, for images. If Super Mario Bros. Images was Super Mario Bros. imaages but same wasnt for Super Mario 64 Images, then editors wouldn't know which moved and which hasnt Results May Vary (talk) 23:18, March 6, 2020 (EST)
