Overview[edit]
In the GBA version only, the level opens with a cinematic showing Mario avoiding two Thwimps.
The player starts next to a Springboard, between two Thwimps that are jumping over two Color Switches. After pressing the blue Color Switch on the left, the player needs to use the Springboard to get onto the lift that moves to the right. The lift will lead to a blue platform, which can help the player reach an upward moving lift. At the top of the large structure in the center, the player needs to fall into the section with the yellow Color Switch and a 1-Up Mushroom. After pressing the Color Switch, the player needs to step onto the Donut Block, causing it to fall so the player can jump onto the lift moving left or the yellow platforms below. Taking the lifts on the left, the player needs to return to the top of the structure and climb the yellow ladder to reach the platform with the Key. After collecting the Key and stepping off the platform to the right, the player will fall into the section with the locked door.
In the second area, the player needs to get a Sir Shovalot onto the ground by pressing the yellow and then the red Color Switches above where the player starts, followed by pressing the blue Color Switch. Using the Sir Shovalot to get under the wall, the player then needs to use the enemy again as a platform to reach a blue ladder. At the top of the ladders is another Sir Shovalot the player needs to use as a platform to reach a red Color Switch, which the player needs to time the press of with the red Polterguys over the spikes to create a series of platforms, with one of the Polterguys needing to be positioned close to the wall on the player's side. After the Color Switch is pressed, the player needs to use the Sir Shovalot to get under the wall, and the player will be dropped onto the Polterguy platforms. After crossing the Polterguy platforms, the player has to jump onto some Donut Blocks and then quickly jump onto the ladder above before they fall. At the top of the ladder is another Sir Shovalot and a blue Color Switch; after pressing the Color Switch, the player needs to use the Sir Shovalot to get under the spiked platform and reach the Mini-Mario.
