Exploder
Exploder from Dr. Mario World
First appearance Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure (2015)
Latest appearance Dr. Mario World (2019)

An Exploder is a bomb from Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure and Dr. Mario World.

In Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure, exploders are a type of miracle cure and are gray in color, and can sometimes appear in the Miracle Cure mode after the gauge is filled. When the exploder lands and detonates, any viruses or capsule pieces within a two-tile radius are removed. If a stage starts with an Exploder, it will not detonate unless another miracle cure triggered it, namely a Zapper or another Exploder.

Exploders reappear in Dr. Mario World, where they are stage features and come in different colors. When a color capsule matches the color of the exploder, the exploder eliminates objects, such as viruses, in its adjacent tiles. They mostly appear in Stage Mode, but in Versus Mode, they can appear based on an assistant, or they can also appear with Dr. Baby Mario's skill.

In-game description[edit]

  • Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure: "When dire times call for drastic action, nothing works quite like an Exploder. The moment it lands, it detonates, taking out everything around it."
  • Dr. Mario World: "Match an exploder with pieces of the same color and it'll...explode!"
