In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, the Official Guide from Nintendo Power describes how the Yoshi series has different enemy classes with pseudo scientific names. Of those, one of them is Edibilis Boringus, derived from the words "Edible" and "boring". Enemies in the class Edibilis Boringus are simple, and made to provide a Yoshi with enough eggs to defeat tougher foes.
