Description

Kroctopus

Kroctopus is always partially submerged underwater, and its whole body is never shown. It has five extendable limbs, each one being made up of spheres, and a claw at the tip of every limb. Kroctopus does not have flexible limbs, and only moves them in a straight direction. As with other underwater enemies, Dixie and Kiddy Kong cannot fight Kroctopus directly. Instead, during the battle, the Kongs must avoid being pinched by Kroctopus throughout the battle. Eventually a purple bomb falls onto the stage, and the Kongs can injure Kroctopus by standing at the bomb and then jumping out the way as Kroctopus extends its arm toward it. This causes Kroctopus to be hurt from the bomb's explosion.

After taking three hits, Kroctopus starts attacking the Kongs at a faster pace; it becomes visibly angrier, and its body color changes to red-orange. After taking three more hits, Kroctopus gets even angrier, and his body turns red while his eyes are pink. In this phase, Kroctopus attacks with two limbs at a time, its center limb always being one of them. After hitting three more bombs, or nine in total, Kroctopus is defeated and retreats back into the lake.
