The Riddle Tower is a circular tower in the Palace of Shadow in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The tower is in the center of a large open plaza surrounded by streams. Inside is a spiral staircase with several doors on each floor. Mario had to solve the riddles in each room to earn a Pedestal Key. The pedestals to the keys would appear later once Mario got the Star Key from Gloomtail's room.
At the top of the Tower is a large planetarium. A lock is there for the Star Key, which will in turn make the locks for the Pedestal Keys appear. Once all eight of the keys where in place the mobile was activated. The hallways floor to Gloomtail's room was lowered into stairs, revealing the next stage of the Palace of Shadow. On the wall by the stairs is glowing patterns of stars and rings. The background music that will be playing in that area is a remixed version of Bowser's Castle and the underground theme from Super Mario Bros.. Mario had to fight Beldam, Marilyn, and Doopliss outside in the plaza before being able to access this new area.
Notes
- The clues for each riddle are written on a plaque in every room. The first and third lines on the plaque are the riddle, while the second line is more for show.
- The planetarium at the top is most likely a mobile of the actual solar system the Mushroom World is in. The only way to see it entirely is to Super Jump, having the camera pan upwards.
