Always in groups of two

Burts are round, peach-colored enemies with large red noses and have blue and white striped pants that go up to their eyes. They appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS. Burts attack in pairs. After jumping on its partner, a Burt will get a big boost, and the same goes for Yoshi if it jumps on a Burt. If one was defeated, the other would jump non-stop. Notable Burts include Burt the Bashful and also the Burt Bros.. If killed, these rotund ballerinas will yield two Stars. Burt the Bashful was originally a normal sized Burt but was made bigger by Kamek.

Trivia

• The French name of the Burts is Bélixo. If you switch the last letter to the first, the result will be Obélix, who the Burts resemble.
• Burts bear a striking resemblance to Strollin stu from Super Mario Sunshine, it's possible that the citizens in Isle Delfino give them a different name.
