Hopping coins are collectibles in Yoshi's Story. They can be found in groups of five after a Baby Yoshi breaks a ? Block or ? Bubble in a level. Except for the fact that they have blue feet, these coins have the same appearance as the regular coins in Yoshi's Story, and they act similarly to the Stars from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, as they hop away in different directions after being freed. If the Baby Yoshi can collect all five coins before they disappear, the Yoshi will be awarded a melon.
