The following is a list of quotes in WarioWare: Smooth Moves. The items are listed by order of appearance.

Form descriptions

When first encountering a form in a microgame set, an illustration coupled with a voiceover appears to instruct the player on how to hold the Wii controller.

The Remote Control

  • "Hold the Form Baton straight with the tip pointing forward.
This simple stance reflects one of life's fiercest--and greatest--sports: channel surfing."

The Umbrella

  • "Hold the Form Baton vertically, thumb resting lightly in the button.
Through this stance, you channel quiet dignity of a circus clown in the midst of a thunderstorm."

The Handlebar

  • "Turn the Form Baton sideways and grasp the ends firmly in both hands.
Like riding a bicycle, perfecting this stance requires grace, steadiness, and tight shorts."

The Sketch Artist

  • "Hold the Form Baton as you would a pencil during a pop quiz, delicately but defiantly.
Mastery of this move can change a pop quizee into a pop quizzer."

The Chauffeur

  • "Turn the Form Baton sideways and wrap your hands around both ends.
As the Form Baton turns, so too do the earth and all upon it, from liver to liverymen."

The Samurai

  • "With your right/left hand, hold the Form Baton close to your left/right hip.
Like a hungry samurai defending his lunch, close your eyes and await your enemy's attack."

The Tug-of-War

  • "With the Form Baton pointing foward, hold it firmly with both hands just above the navel.
This stance calls to mind the epic struggle between heads and tails."

The Waiter

  • "Place the Form Baton in your palm, tip foward and buttons facing up.
See youself serving a group of socialities. Such grace, they cry! Such style! Such hors d'oeuvres!"

The Elephant

  • "Hold the Form Baton forward with the end lightly touching your nose.
Just as the mighty elephant uses its trunk to gorge on peanuts, so too will your new nose sustain you."

The Thumb Wrestler

  • "Hold the Form Baton vertically and rest your thumb on the top of it.
The noblest of athletes, the thumb wrestler endures years of training before mastering this pose."

The Discard

  • "Place the form baton facedown on a stable surface like an unwanted, but still treasured, playing card.
Do not touch the Form Baton again until the proper time."

The Big Cheese

  • "With the Form Baton at your hip, force your chest and hips foward.
This stance honors the CEO, unsung hero standing proud on the backs of his employees."

The Janitor

  • "Hold the Form Baton with both hands, as you would a mop.
The left/right hand represents order, the right/left, filth. The Form Baton is the bridge between the two."

The Dumbbell

  • "Turn the Form Baton sideways and clutch it from below in your right/left hand.
True Masters exhibit a firm grip and an exaggerated grimace."

The Mohawk

  • "Point the tip of the Form Baton foward and hold it atop your head.
Letting the Form Baton fall is like letting a mohawk droop: shameful and forbidden."

The Finger Food

  • "Holding the back end delicately between two fingers, point the Form Baton foward.
The regal french fry remains one of nature's greatest muses."

The Boxer

  • "Turn the Form Baton and hold it firmly from above in your right/left hand.
Let the spirit of the noble sucker punch guide you to victory."

The Mortar and Pestle

  • "Hold the Form Baton vertically in your right/left hand and cup it gently in the palm of your left/right
To crush is also to create, and from squashing comes spice."

The Diner

  • "Hold the Balance Stone in your left/right hand and the Form Baton in your right/left.
Stay vigilant. The battle for seconds is always sudden and fierce."

Microgame hosts

Each host has two descriptions; one before completing their set and another after beating it.

Wario

  • "BWAHAHAHA!!! Waaaaario here! The other day, I found this crazy stick-thing in those old ruins. I just KNOW it's worth something! All I gotta do now is figure out how it works."
  • "WAAAHAHAHA! I'm Wario! This stick-thing is amazing! Just holding it makes my body move! I bet I could make a mint teaching these new moves to everyone in town!"

Mona

  • "Ciao! I'm Mona! I'm captain of the cheerleading squad, so I know all about form AND batons! Now all I need is an awesome finishing pose!"
  • "Hi there! Mona here! Thanks to the Form Baton, I think our routine turned out pretty awesome! I think I'll try using it at my part-time job, too!"

Kat & Ana

  • "Hiya! It's me, Kat!" "Ana's here, too!" "We're practicing our forms, 'cause serious ninjas have to know how to move fast!"
  • "Hi! It's Kat! Ana's here, too." "We've gotten pretty good at our forms, doncha think?" "Stop hogging the baton! I want a chance, too!"

Young Cricket & Master Mantis

  • "Good to meet you! People call me Young Cricket. As part of my kung-fu training, Master Mantis and I travel around in search of new stances."
  • "Young Cricket here. Looks like there are lots of forms to learn around here. Master Mantis seems to like this place, so I think we'll stick around for a while."

  • "YO! YO! Jimmy T. in the house! I remixed all the moves you've learned so far! Get ready to get down!"
  • "Aw, yeah! It's me, Jimmy T. Did you get down with those crazy cats? Let's do that again sometime real soon."

Ashley & Red

  • "I'm Ashley. This is Red. I know all about forms, but who needs forms when you have magic? I'll watch you do them instead."
  • "Ashley here. I guess forms are more useful than I thought. Give it a try, <player's name>!"

Dribble & Spitz

  • "Dribble here. Good to meet ya." "Yeah, and I'm Spitz." "Our cab will take you anywhere you wanna go! So, where to today?"
  • "Hey there. Dribble and Spitz at your service! There are two new hot spots just outside of town. Have you ever visited them?"

Penny

  • "Hi there. I'm Penny Crygor. You probably know my grandpa 'cause he's a famous inventor. I wanna be just like him, so I spend most of my time in the lab at school!"
  • "Penny here again. I sent the pocket bike that I built to Mr. Wario. Do you think he liked it?!"

9-Volt and 18-Volt

  • "'Sup! 9-Volt here. I'm Nintendo's #1 fan! I've got a ton of old games! Stop by and give 'em a whirl!"
  • "9-Volt and 18-Volt here! Did you know that multiplayer is the ultimate expression of friendship? It's true!"

Jimmy P.

  • "YO! YO! Jimmy P. in the house! I remixed all the moves you've learned so far! Get ready to get down! What's that? I remind you of someone? I have no idea what you're talking about."
  • "Aw, yeah! I'm Jimmy P. Did you dig my stage, you ol' dog? Let's do that again sometime, you and me!"

Tiny Wario

  • "BWAHAHAHA! I'm Wa-- Hey?! What's that over there?! STRAWBERRIES?! My favorite! They're mine! Mine mine MINE!"
  • "BWAHAHAHA! Even though I'm small, it's only made me stronger! Not to mention cuter! So, from now on, it'll be MR. Tiny Wario to you!"

Orbulon

  • "Greetings, earthling. I am Orbulon. My stage requires that you connect the Balance Stone to the Form Baton. I will show you a mysterious form I learned on a remote planet. It's called The Diner!"
  • "Greetings! I am Orbulon. Have you learned how to use the Balance Stone? This brings me one stop closer to my goal-- But enough about that!"

Temple of Form descriptions

After encountering a form or microgame set, the corresponding grid is unlocked in the Temple of Form with an additional description.

Story

  • "Pick a stage, and you can play any games that appear in that stage."

Wario

  • "Hey, <player's name>! So you have a Form Baton too, huh? There are lots of different forms you can do depending on how you hold it, but I stick with what I know best, the Remote Control! But that's fine by me!"

Mona

  • "Hola! Forms have been all the rage lately, but I'm especially good at the Umbrella and the Handlebar! I think they are the cutest!"

Kat & Ana

  • "Sensei's a stickler about discipline, so I've been practicing the heck out of my forms. You should too! I'm especially good at the Sketch Artist, the Chauffeur, and the Samurai! Hai-ya!"

Young Cricket

  • "In order to become a kung fu master, you gotta learn lots of secret stances. So far, I've learned the Tug-of-War, the Waiter and the Elephant. I'll show them to you, but you can't tell Master Mantis that I did, OK?"

Ashley

  • "Hey, you! I'm Red. I'm Ashley's best buddy. I don't know anything about forms, but Ashley sure does. I think I've seen her doing the Thumb Wrestler and the Discard. Oh, and the Big Cheese is her absolute favorite! Seriously!"

Dribble and Spitz

  • "Nothing makes you wanna move around more than sitting in a cab all day, you know! Whenever we feel we've been sitting too long, we like to bust out the Janitor, the Dumbbell and the Mohawk. Wanna try it, <player's name>?"

Penny

  • "I started learning forms to satisfy my intellectual curiosity! I thought the Finger Food, the Boxer, and the Mortar and Pestle would be a good start for me, and now I think I'm pretty good at them! I get the feeling that this hard work will pay off in the FORM of a new invention! Hee Hee Hee!"

9-Volt

  • "I've learned every form, but what good are they if I can't use 'em to play Nintendo games? I think you're gonna like what I've come up with!"

Tiny Wario

  • "I might be small, but I'm still the best! Here's proof: I've mastered all the forms! Bwahahaha! I'm All Good! And between you and me, I make an appearance in all my games! As my biggest fan, <player's name>, this will make you insanely happy!"

Orbulon

  • "Greetings, human! I see that you're in possession of a Balance Stone as well! This means you can try your hand at a form called the Diner! Try it out!"

Form

  • "Pick the form that you like. You can play any games that use that form."

The Remote Control

  • "This is the most basic and popular of all the forms."

The Umbrella

  • "After the Remote Control this is the second most popular form."

The Handlebar

  • "This is the most balanced form. Most Handlebar games require quick movements."

The Sketch Artist

  • "This form is best suited for movements requiring precision. Use your most dominant hand to perform this form."

The Chauffeur

  • "This form is best suited for gyrating movements."

The Samurai

  • "You can feel the spirit of the samurai in this form. It's said that your breathing affects the outcome."

The Tug-of-War

  • "This form has been taught from generation to generation. Lately, the tend has been to bring the hands closer together."

The Waiter

  • "It's very easy to drop the Form Baton when performing this form, so be careful."

The Elephant

  • "This form will make your nose look longer, but the point is to make it look appealing."

The Thumb Wrestler

  • "This relatively new form is actually an evolved version of the Umbrella. Is it just me, or does the evolution seem like a minor one?"

The Discard

  • "It's helpful to have a flat surface nearby when playing these games."

The Big Cheese

  • "Show-offs are quick to learn this form. However, that does not mean they do it well."

The Janitor

  • "This form is as hardworkng and effective as its name implies. Little-known fact: the Janitor is just the Tug-of-War turned upright."

The Dumbbell

  • "This is an easy way to hold the Form Baton, and it provides a satisfying weight in your palm."

The Mohawk

  • "Games that use this form require whole-body movement. It might be a bit of a challenge for players who have not exercised in a while."

The Finger Food

  • "This form requires fingertip strength and control. It's best suited for relatively uncomplicated games."

The Boxer

  • "Compared to the other forms, this is the most relaxed way of holding the Form Baton."

The Mortar and Pestle

  • "This form is interesting because it places much responsibility on the non-dominant hand, the (left/right) hand."

The Diner

  • "You need the Balance Stone for this form. There are actually three versions of the Diner."

Town Bulletin Board

The Town Bulletin Board is located underneath Mona's stage on the map after zooming in with Plus Button. As the player progresses through the game, the board is updated with new messages from Diamond City residents, as well as exploration notes about the Temple of Form.

Wario

  • "Waaario here with a new bulletin, so listen up! I put a bulletin board up in town for residents to post messages! I don't get my jolies (NSTSC)/kicks (PAL) doing nice things, so you all better use it!"
