Hover for Cover is a microgame in the Sci-Fi folder in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and returns as one of Dribble & Spitz's microgames in WarioWare Gold.

Gameplay

There is a rocket ship at the bottom of the screen, with various asteroids flying horizontally from both directions. The player must use the A Button button to control the thrust of the rocket and avoid the asteroids. If the button is released, the rocket will fall back to the bottom of the screen.

  • 1st level difficulty: The rocket is very small.
  • 2nd level difficulty: The rocket is twice its original size.
  • 3rd level difficulty: The rocket is three times its original size.

In WarioWare Gold, the ordinary rocket is replaced by a little girl in a bamboo rocket. This is based on the Japanese story The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, whose protagonist, princess Kaguya (as a baby), is found inside a bamboo stalk.
