Fire Shell is Kooper's ultimate attack in Paper Mario, learned by leveling Kooper to the Ultra Rank. To use this move, the player must use five FP and then repeatedly tilt the control stick to the left to fill the gauge. All ground-based enemies will then be hit by the attack causing them up to six points of damage. This move is also imbued with the fire element allowing it to deal extra damage to certain enemies, but also less to those resistant to fire. Furthermore, this move will permanently defeat Dry Bones.
Fire Shell was going to reappear in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, by Koops, since an unused attack description reads, "Hits enemies with a fiery shell." Instead, Shell Slam functions similarly.
