The Sparklas are a variant of Theets who appear in Princess Peach: Showtime! They are the star actors of the plays in the Sparkle Theater. After the witch Grape and her minions, the Sour Bunch, took control of the Sparkle Theater, they are held prisoners in its basement. Princess Peach, who went to the Sparkle Theater when it was attacked, has to save them alongside Stella. After they are all rescued, the Sparklas give Peach their power, allowing her to transform into Radiant Peach and fight against Grape.
Every Sparkla stage has the same objective: the first part of the level consists in rescuing the captured Sparkla or freeing them from the Sour Bunch's control, and then Peach has to work alongside them to reach the exit or defeat a boss.
Named Sparklas
- Swordfighter Sparkla: The Swordfighter Sparkla is the first Sparkla needed to be rescued. Upon completing the second Swordfighter play, her call for help can be heard in cutscenes where Peach and Stella check it out in the Basement. The Sparkla is held captive by the Dark Swordfighter and Swordfighter Peach must defeat him to free the Sparkla. Once the Dark Swordfighter is defeated, he will leap for a surprise attack only to have the Sparkla to block the attack. She will then tell Peach to finish him with a timed attack. After that, the Sparkla will thank both Peach and Stella for their rescue and expresses her gratitude by performing her bow which they do so in return. She will then be seen interacting with guests on the left side of Sparkle Theater’s first floor.
- Ninja Sparkla: The Ninja Sparkla is held captive by the Red Ninja Guard and his army of Ninja Guards. Ninja Peach must sneak undetected and defeat the guards underway until she defeats the Red Guard before he strikes his blow. Once freed, the Ninja Sparkla will thank Peach for the save and then tells her to follow him to the tower to make their escape. As they escape they encounter more guards holding spotlights and traps are summoned along the way. Despite this, they made it to the tower, only to be encountered by the Dark Ninja who uses a shadow technique to cause the entire scene to collapse. The Ninja Sparkla tells Peach to make their way up the falling debris without wavering. After this, the Dark Ninja reappears calling Peach and the Sparkla stubborn and prepares his weapons for the finishing blow, which the Sparkla retaliates he and Peach will prevail if they work together before having his weapons at the ready. Peach will have to time her attack precisely once the Sparkla and the Dark Ninja leap towards each other for attack. After the Dark Ninja is defeated and escape the play, Ninja Sparkla will compliment Peach that her ninja skills were unparalleled and then ascends the staircase afterwards. He will then appear on the right side of Sparkle Theater’s first floor interacting with the guests. Once Grape is defeated, he will call Peach over saying his apprentices are playing hide and seek and asks her to help find them in all of Peach’s plays. Once Peach finds them all, the Sparkla will award Peach a special dress as a reward.
- Cowgirl Sparkla: The Cowgirl Sparkla is tied to a post on some railroad tracks as a dark train controlled by a Bandit Dūke charges to run her down based on the evidence the horse tells Cowgirl Peach and Stella. Peach hops onto the horse to chase the train and save the Sparkla while taking out Bandit Dūkes along the way. The Sparkla will hear Peach’s horse coming and calls out to save her which she does just before the train runs into her and then races into the distance. The Sparkla will thank Peach for the save and says they should make their exit. Upon seeing a bridge collapsed, the horse brings up three horse carts. The Sparkla will take control of the horse and tells Peach to ride on the carts behind it. They soon dash their way through while taking out more Sour Bunch minions along the way. Upon encountering the train again, the Sparkla tells Peach to buy her some time as they head to one last jump as she lassos and flings barrels to the locomotive slowing it down. They then jumped to safety as the locomotive crashes into the bottomless pit. After returning to Sparkle Theater, the Sparkla tells Peach she was wild and then ascends the staircase afterwards. She is then seen interacting with the guests on the right side of the Theater’s third floor.
- Patissiere Sparkla: The Patisserie Sparkla is seen in a Sour Bunch corrupted state by a Dark Baker and challenges Peach in a baking contest. The Sparkla tells Peach whoever decorates and completes their three-layer cake will be the winner. Once Peach defeats the Sparkla, she will get enraged by defeat and then comments how does it taste. Upon munching on some of the cake, her corruption is cleansed and returns back to normal and compliments Peach’s decoration skills. Just as they were about to exit, the Dark Baker appears and challenges Peach and the Sparkla to a high-octane baking contest and states they will let them leave if they win. They soon accept the challenge and the Baker tells them whoever fills their five plates of cookies will win. Peach and the Sparkla take advantage of making more cookies if they worked at the same base while avoiding the Dark Baker’s ground pounds. Once they win the contest, the Sparkla tells the Dark Baker to let them go which they replied speed isn’t everything, only taste. The Sparkla suggests they should make a special cookie for the baker which she and Peach successfully made a sparkle cookie which the baker is amazed with the flavor as it vanishes revealing the exit back to Sparkle Theater. Upon arrival, the Sparkla tells Peach her baking skills were superb and makes her way up the staircase. She is then seen interacting with the guests on the left side of the theater’s third floor.
- Dashing Thief Sparkla: The Dashing Thief Sparkla is initially trapped in an electric cage. After Dashing Thief Peach deactivates all four locks to the cage, the two of them escape the area as it falls apart. They deactivate lasers, grapple across a large gap, zip-line numerous times and then hang glide to the exit. After exiting back to Sparkle Theater, the Sparkla tells Peach they should infiltrate the enemy lair together sometime before ascending the staircase afterwards. He will then be seen interacting with the guests on the left side of the Theater’s second floor.
- Figure Skater Sparkla: The Figure Skater Sparkla is held captive by the Sour Bunch Figure Skater who challenges Figure Skater Peach for a third and final bout (after his previous defeats), but this time he jumps and spins to summon icicles that fall when he lands. Once he lands after his highest jump, the skater gets dazed allowing Peach to pair dance him and make him fall. The Figure Skater Sparkla will encourage Peach to perform on the glowing snowflakes to free the ice prison she’s in. Once five have successfully completed, the Sour Skater will be devastated allowing Peach to skate around him and strike the finishing pose defeating him and freeing the Sparkla. She will praise Peach for her performance until the entire scene starts to collapse. The Sparkla will provide her and Peach an extra boost of their jumps as they escape the collapsing ice stage (while also spin attacking any Ice Skating Dūkes along the way) until they land safely to their exit. Afterwards, the Figure Skating Sparkla will compliment Peach’s riveting performance and then make her way to Sparkle Theater’s staircase. She will then be seen interacting with the guests on the right side of the Theater’s second floor.
- Detective Sparkla: The Detective Sparkla is held captive in the Dark Museum. According to the Junior Detective, he has encountered four Detective Sparklas (three of those are Sour Bunch minions in disguise) and tells Detective Peach to find the real one by using her Strike of Intrusion. The real Sparkla is showing no emotion and tells Peach her intrusion will lead her to the truth while the imposters plead to be rescued with some Sour Bunch mentions. Once Peach guesses the correct Sparkla, the imposters disappear and the two make their escape, only to be transported to an endless space room. Detective Sparkla will instruct Peach to find the missing item not featured in the picture he took with his camera. Once she does so, they will ascend some stairs to meet the Junior Detective waiting for them. Junior points out the door to the exit is waiting for them and pleads Peach and the Sparkla to exit there, but the Sparkla asks Junior with some questions. After asking questions, he tells Peach to decide the fate which she talks to Junior who is revealed to be a Sour Bunch Dūke in disguise when using the Strike of Intrusion, and the Sparkla explains that Junior and the fake exit were deceptions. They soon head to the real exit and enter back to Sparkle Theater. The Sparkla will comment detective reasoning to Peach before ascending the stairwell afterwards. He will then be seen interacting with the guests on the right side of Sparkle Theater's fourth floor.
- Mighty Sparkla: Mighty Sparkla is imprisoned in a confined cell. Professor Theet can release the locks holding the Sparkla captive while Mighty Peach fights off any Extraterrestrial Dūkes that descend on top of meteors. After holding off their foes, the Professor releases the locks and Peach destroys the container freeing the Sparkla. Suddenly a meteor shower begins to fall, and Mighty Sparkla assembles a lift and tells Peach to hop on with him which they blast off to the meteor shower. Together they punch through the meteors and other objects they encounter and even the Sparkla gets tossed by Peach numerous times before they encounter the largest meteor of all. The Sparkla and Peach combined their powers to destroy the giant meteor and then they make their escape. After arriving safely back to Sparkle Theater, the Sparkla exclaimed that justice will prevail and then makes his way up the staircase. He is then seen interacting with the guests on the left side of the theater’s fifth floor.
- Mermaid Sparkla: Mermaid Sparkla is trapped inside a giant clam. Mermaid Peach must sing to gather enough fish to open the shell and free the Sparkla. The Sparkla will thank Peach and then the two mermaids make their way to the exit. The exit is blocked off by powerful whirlpools which Mermaid Sparkla assembled more fist and two sea turtles for each of them to ride. Once the whirlpools are settled, Peach and the Sparkla exit back to Sparkle Theater and the Sparkla tells Peach that hope they can perform another duet together sometime before making her way up the staircase. She is then seen interacting with the guests on the right side of the fifth floor
- Kung Fu Sparkla: The Kung Fu Sparkla is held captive by the Sour Bunch Kung Fu Master who challenges Peach in an epic Kung Fu battle thanks to enhanced powers Grape gave him. He creates two clones of himself that fight Peach in hand to hand combat while he guards the Sparkla while flinging dark orbs to Peach for her to kick back. Once the dark master clones are defeated, the sour master fights Peach by slinging more dark orbs at Peach which she kicks them back at him. He then summons a biggest orb and slings it at Peach while she kicks it at rapid speed which it strikes the master, defeating him and freeing the Sparkla. Both the Sparkla and Peach bow each other but the dark kung fu master regains consciousness and fights Peach again while the Kung Fu Sparkla advises Peach while in combat. After taking enough hits, the Sparkla tells the dark master they will defeat him in one simple kick, which they timed it just right which they leaped and kicked the master, finally defeating him. After exiting back to Sparkle Theater, the Kung Fu Sparkla shares some wisdom to Peach before ascending the staircase afterwards. He will then be seen interacting with the guests on the left side of the Theater’s fourth floor.
