Sparkle Theater is a large theater run by Theets and the main location of Princess Peach: Showtime!. It is made up of various buildings and located on a small island near a seaside town. During the game, Princess Peach, along with a few Toads, visits the theater to watch a show, but are interrupted by the arrival of Grape and the Sour Bunch, who take over the venue and trap them and other Theets present inside. Peach then sets out with the theater's guardian Stella in order to defeat them and save the theater.

Staff Member Theets and other Theets who happened to be trapped inside as well analyze the situation and alert Peach if any paths are blocked off or if something seems odd, such as doors and staircases.

96 Theets are present in the five main lobby floors combined after the main game has been completed.

Layout[edit]

Inside, the Sparkle Theater is spacious and elegant, featuring numerous plays spread across five floors and a basement. On each floor, posters and banners featuring the floor's plays decorate the area, stairs to access the other floors, and a central section where Theets can sit on the stairs and where dark doors show up. There is also a Star Lift that can also be accessed to reach any respective floor automatically once the third floor has been completed. While each floor is controlled by its respective Darkle boss, it features purple lighting, Sour Bunch posters and banners replacing the regular ones and threads blocking the stairs to the next floors.

The four regular stages on each of 1F through 5F can be played in any order in order to unlock each floor's boss levels.

Levels 1 through 3 of all transformations, and the bosses on 1F through 4F, must be cleared in order to enter the final boss. The rehearsal "EX" bonus levels are not required.

When first entering 3F after defeating Light Fang, the Star Lift becomes available for Peach to use as an elevator between floors. If Peach stands on a Star Lift platform while it is glowing, the player can press A Button to make a list of available floors show up which can be selected from.

Floor plan[edit]

For the German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese versions of the game, 1F is numbered as the ground floor, with higher floors starting from 1 and up. For instance, 4F in the English version would be 3F in those languages. Asian languages and Russian use the English version's floor numbers.

The Lobby Shop, a store selling dresses and Stella ribbons, can be found there, manned by the Shopkeep Theet. A second Shopkeep Theet will also appear to decorate all the floors of the Sparkle Theater (except the Basement) in exchange for Sparkle Gems. The carpets and walls of this floor are colored red. Two large disco balls can be found on the ceiling, which disappear when the boss of the floor, Disco Wing, is defeated.

The fifth and top floor in the Sparkle Theater. Three large windows decorate the back of the floor where stairs would be. The carpets and walls of the floor are colored white and gray. Four purple flames can be found floating near the ceiling. They disappear when Grape, the final boss, is defeated. This floor has no boss.

The rear window constantly has fireworks fired into the air behind it, regardless of whether the theater has been saved or not, and indicating that 5F is always at nighttime when Peach goes up to it.

The basement of the Sparkle Theater. This room contains ten locked doors, each containing one of the theater's Sparklas. In order to access each, Princess Peach must obtain that respective Sparkla's Sparkla Spirit to unlock the door. The final boss Grape can be fought here after all Sparklas have been rescued.

Completing The Dark Swordfighter & the Arena is mandatory in order to face Darkle Boss: Light Fang on 2F. The other nine Sparkla plays can be played in any order and any time before It's Showtime, Grape!.

Trivia[edit]

  • It is strongly implied in the game that the regular plays on 1F through 5F have spectator crowds that consist primarily of Theets, but neither the spectators or the stands are ever seen, and they can only be heard clapping at certain times, for instance when Peach strikes a pose in a designated pose spot.
