Rayman is the protagonist of Ubisoft's Rayman franchise, debuting in the 1995 Atari Jaguar video game Rayman. Rayman's 2006 multi-platform party game Rayman Raving Rabbids spawned its own Rabbids sub-series which would eventually crossover with the Super Mario franchise in the Nintendo Switch titles Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle did not feature an appearance from Rayman, though he is set to appear in the third DLC of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope as a playable character.[1]
History
Super Smash Bros. series
Rayman has made cameo appearances in the Super Smash Bros. series, appearing as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and as a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
On September 10, 2022, Rayman was confirmed to be released as a playable character in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope in the eponymous Rayman in the Phantom Show expansion pack.[1]
During Ubisoft Forward 2023, a teaser was shown featuring Rayman encountering Beep-0, Rabbid Peach, and Rabbid Mario at a hotel, who appear to be checking in. Rabbid Mario shakes Rayman's hand but faints when he pulls it away from his body, while Rabbid Peach closely examines Rayman's lack of arms and legs, causing him to push her away.[2] In the DLC's full trailer, Rayman, Rabbid Peach, and Rabbid Mario are shown participating in the Space Opera Network, hosted by the Phantom.[3]
