Is he really a Doogan? He has a completely different facial structure and a different nose than other Doogans. I thought he was just an anthropomorphic blue dog. -- Son of Suns

Relating to the top comment, he really doesn't look like a Doogan upon closer examination. Doogans have faces shaped like those of Yoshis, while his is totally different (note the lower lip). This seems more like how Ishnail resembles a Koopa Troopa but clearly isn't one himself. This game simply reused a lot of facial features and had a lot of characters not of established species.
