Not to be confused with NES Remix Pack.

Ultimate NES Remix, known as Famicom Remix: Best Choice (Japanese: ファミコン リミックス:ベストチョイス Famikon Rimikkusu: Besto Choisu) in Japan, is the third installment of the NES Remix series and the first installment of the series to come out for the Nintendo 3DS, as well to not come out for the Wii U. The game was announced in August 29, 2014[1] and its gameplay is similar to the rest of the series, offering various challenges from 16 NES games taken from both NES Remix and NES Remix 2. It was released both physically and digitally in Europe on November 7, 2014,[2] Australia on November 8, 2014, North America on December 5, 2014, and in Japan on August 27, 2015. Players who ordered the game by December 5 received a download code for a limited edition Famicom-style 3DS theme. Unlike most 3DS games, Ultimate NES Remix does not support stereoscopic 3D display.

Gameplay

Exactly like its predecessors, Ultimate NES Remix provides short challenges taken from many Nintendo Entertainment System games. The players are also able to see regional rankings for games stages.

Games

Going by the Treehouse video[3] and promotional artwork/box art, and next an official reveal,[4] the sixteen games in this collection are:

Speed Mario Bros.

Just like NES Remix 2, Ultimate NES Remix contains a port of Super Mario Bros., but entitled Speed Mario Bros. this time around. It is almost identical to the original, except that it runs much faster.

Championship Mode

Ultimate NES Remix includes the NES Remix 2 mode Championship Mode.

Famicom Remix Mode

Exclusive to Ultimate NES Remix, this special mode is unlocked by earning three stars in every stage in the game.
