Body Check is an ability used by Bowser, Toad, Wario, Birdo, Bowser Jr., Petey Piranha, and Hammer Bro in Mario Superstar Baseball, and it can be used by almost anyone except Blooper, Boo, King Boo, Dry Bones, and Monty Mole in Mario Super Sluggers (They have their own close play abilities without knocking the baseball and the player). By rapidly pressing 
, the runner can tackle a baseman, knocking the ball out of his or her hands, which makes the user safe.
