Teapot (Paper Mario: Color Splash)
- “Would you care for some tea?”
- —Tea Party Toads, Paper Mario: Color Splash
The Teapot is a Thing in Paper Mario: Color Splash. It is found in Plum Park behind the stage where Birdo performs Soul Rumblings, and is assumed to be the source of the poison covering the area. If Mario attempts to wring out the Teapot on his first attempt, Petea Piranha will intervene, forcing Mario to battle him before obtaining the Teapot.
Once the Teapot has been picked up for real, it is wrung out, refilling Mario's paint and becoming a colorless card. It is kept until it is used in battle, after which it returns to its original position. It can also be purchased from the Wringer for 250 coins. A replica card of the Teapot also exists, and may be collected from the Battle Spin or Prize Pipe Paths. The Teapot may also be placed into the Prisma Museum, where it can be tested. Its description mentions it being used for tea parties.
When the Teapot is used in battle, the scenery changes to a fancy table setting. The large Teapot drops into the battlefield. As a steady baroque tune plays, the Teapot pours scalding tea onto each enemy, dealing massive damage to each of them. The player may press as the Teapot pours the tea to increase this damage.
The Teapot must be used in the dining room of Dark Bloo Inn to allow the Tea Party Toads to properly start their tea party before ascending into the spirit realm, thus allowing Mario to receive a third card slot.
