Years celebrated 25 years (as of 2010)

The Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary was an event taking place throughout the last few months of 2010, celebrating 25 years since the start of the mainline Super Mario series with the release of Super Mario Bros. in 1985. There were hints of the anniversary event as early as September 2, 2010, with an unofficial announcement of Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition during a retailer briefing in Japan.[1] A logo for the anniversary was trademarked only a few days later, further indicating there was an upcoming anniversary event.[2] On September 13, 2010, the Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary celebration was officially announced when Nintendo officially revealed Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition.[3] The anniversary was commemorated with promotional websites, Club Nintendo rewards, merchandise, and several new Mario-themed hardware and software, with one of them being the release of Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition.
