"Johnson" as a throwaway name is a running gag in the Paper Mario series. Since a running gag is all it is - rather than actual specific characters - I think it is the most serviceable to have all the instances on a single page. As it is, one has a page and the other two are on the implied characters page, which feels lopsided in my opinion.

  1. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) - Tell me where they went, drop and give me twenty, and check on the anchor.
  2. Tails777 (talk) Honestly, I was comparing the whole Jerry the Magikoopa situation with the X-Naut Johnson and how they're in a similar boat. And while I was the one to suggest merging the X-Naut Johnson with the implied characters, I do see the main argument made against it in the fact that he's not technically implied, just not distinguishable. This really feels like a better solution to the entire deal; none of them are really notable enough to have their own articles, but having an article for the running gag itself sounds like a way better solution. I say give those soldiers their due!
  3. Sparks (talk) per all. DANG IT, JOHNSON!
  4. SolemnStormcloud (talk) Per all.
  5. PnnyCrygr (talk) Per everyone, plus the Johnsons.
  6. LinkTheLefty (talk) Per Johnson & Johnson & Knuckles Johnson
  7. ThePowerPlayer (talk) Per all.
  8. Camwoodstock (talk) This makes sense to us, but especially per Tails777; every Johnson isn't implied, per say, they do technically appear on-screen, just as an indistinguishable member of a crowd. We think a comparision that makes sense is how the Homestar Runner wiki handles various "characters" like Debra (long loading link, the Homestar Runner Wiki servers be slow!)--characters that do seemingly exist, and are given explicit mentions, but never in a capacity that distinguishes them physically, and notably, refers to different individuals that just happen to share a name. Though, regardless of what happens and what form the new Johnson article will take, we should probably have a link to Magic Johnson in the header, since that's a real person who happens to be named Johnson and very much is not implied. ;P
